About Steve Swerid

My wife Donna and I have vacationed in Arizona for the last 5 years. We currently live in Saskatchewan Canada where the people are friendly and the winters are cold!! We fell in love with the Arizona desert, sunshine, beautiful mountains and wonderful people. We purchased this home to enjoy the Arizona weather, landscape and nature along with all of the attractions in Phoenix with our family and friends now and when we retire.

Steve Swerid purchased this house in 2012

Why Steve Swerid chose North Gateway

We searched extensively for a property that offered everything we were looking for including a peaceful private setting, friendly neighborhood, nature trails, luxury amenities, room to grow with our children and grandchildren, proximity to shopping, fine restaurants, golf and sports. We found it all in Sonoran Foothills. The first time we walked in we knew that this was where we wanted to take off our flip flops beside the pool! It is peaceful, offers luxury amenities and spacious rooms but feels like home. We are only a 15 minutes from boating on beautiful Lake Pleasant, a short 90min drive to Sedona, 20 minutes to the NFL and NHL stadiums and outlet shopping at Tanger Outlets, 15min to Scottsdale and countless golf courses. Our home is so relaxing and offers the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the Arizona sunshine and star lit skies at night.

What makes this house unique

3000 sf bungalow located in the private gated community of Sonoran Foothills with green space and walking paths behind offers privacy and tranquility. The green space beside the house offers young families a play structure and covered picnic area. Across the street and through the security gate is the Sonoran Foothills Community Center offering a huge lap pool, water play park, tennis courts, soccer field, volleyball courts, basketball courts, bbq's, walking and cycling paths and nature paths into the mountains.

Our home is warm and inviting the moment you walk through the 8' door and into the large open area. The home features a beautiful fireplace to snuggle up in front of and enjoy a glass of wine or good book. The backyard is so private and peaceful. The only sounds you hear is your favorite music if you so desire through the patio speakers or the sound of birds singing and waterfall in the pool.

per the past reviews, wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

I won't re-iterate the what the other reviews have stated so accurately - the listing and pictures are 100 per cent accurate. Some other things:

Some great restaurants in the area: The Tonto Bar and Grill, Indigo Crow, The Spotted Donkey

Day trips: 1. head north on 17 and get off at Camp Verde, take 260 (Alcantera winery just off the interstate) head north towards 89A and Jerome, and through Cornville, Oak Creek, and Page Springs (the wine country) to 89A and Sedona then south on 179 on the Red Rock Scenic byway. Wonderful drive, great wine. 2. Head down to Apache Junction then take the Apache Trail through Tortilla Flat and continue on to Roosevelt then back to Apache Junction via Globe and US 60. About 20 miles of dirt road, but well graded, still recomment an SUV, 3. (not for the faint of heart) Take cave creek road north to seven springs then north on FR24 and FR 269 (only with an SUV with high clearance as the road is rough and very tight in places) to I-17 back to Phoenix - landscape quite different than the Sonoran Desert

Hiking nearby: four miles away is the Sonoran Desert Preserve - great hiking for all levels of trekking, leave 3 hours for a three mile hike, great half day trips

I'll definitely be a repeat patron...

Steve, thank you...

Nice house in a quiet neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a lovely time celebrating my husband birthday at this property. Right next door was a playground which my kids loved. The owner Steve was great to work with, he was quick to respond back when I had a question.

Stayed at this property for a week and really enjoyed it. There was a small issue with the pool remote and Steve helped us with it immediately. The house was beautiful and the location was convenient to many locations. We would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Owner's Response: Hi guys Thankyou for the feedback. Yes, we just installed a new pool controller and have been working through the programming changes that required some txt's and calls to get heat on. Please contact me regarding your next visit and we will look after you. Thanks again. Look forward to having you back
