Discover the area's water adventures with canoeing and motor boating nearby, or enjoy the great outdoors with hiking and mountain biking.
Welcome to Double Eagle Lodge located remotely in the heart of Michigan's pristine Upper Peninsula. Escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life with a trip into the great outdoors. No cellphone reception or Internet connection allows you to relax in the quiet of nature. This quaint log cabin is located on the shores of Long Lake. Though the lodge is 13 miles from the nearest electricity source, the solar panels and back up generator charge the battery bank to give the comforts of home while preserving the natural sounds of the surroundings. This log cabin sleeps six total, with four single beds in the loft and a queen size bed in the private bedroom downstairs. The cabin is equipped with indoor plumbing including a flush toilet and a shower, as well as a fully functioning kitchen. There is a separate building for the propane fired sauna and a second shower.
With the exception of the owner’s cabin there are no other cabins on the lake. Long lake has excellent fishing with Walleye, Bass, Perch and Northern Pike, which are the most predominant fish. If one is quiet, there are plenty of wildlife to catch a glimpse of such as moose, deer, bear, wolves, coyote, beaver, otter and many birds – including bald eagles nesting nearby. If you enjoy kayaking or canoeing, one can paddle up and downstream until beaver dams are reached. One can hike, mountain bike, swim, snowshoe, and snowmobile all day and may not see another human. Finally, at the end of the day everyone can relax sitting around the fire pit watching the sunset and roasting S'mores. Once the fire dies down the night is truly dark with no influence of city lights. The stars are incredibly clear and bright!
Available on the property for your use are 2 kayaks with paddles, a paddle boat, and a fishing boat with a electric trolling motor! What else could you ask for.

If you want to get away from it all, literally off the beaten path, reconnect with your cabin mates in a zen and tranquil environment, this is your place.
This is a wonderful "off the grid" vacation spot. If you are looking for someplace to just get away from everything, this is it. After two hip replacements last winter, we decided to have a relaxing vacation. We didn't kayak, fish, or swim, but the peace and quiet was wonderful. We read books, played games and went for small walks everyday. The cabin was very nice!
We really enjoyed our time at the Double Eagle Lodge. The cabin is beautiful and very clean. The location is perfect for getting away and spending time in nature. We spent most of the time fishing and hanging out by the dock, and enjoying the beautiful screened in porch playing games and watching the wildlife. Thank you!
We enjoyed this very private and secluded place. It was a perfect place to enjoy nature and relax. Fishing, kayaking, and playing board games was so fun. It was a slice of heaven.
The Cabin was great! Had all the modern amenities but still a rustic feel! The Host was in contact right away after booking with any information we needed and detailed directions to the cabin. The caretaker was a super nice guy and made sure you were all set and safe for your stay. Would stay again for sure!
Cabin was perfect: off the grid, fishing was good, weather great, surrounding area full of wildlife. Great communication with owners.
Only drawback were the mosquitoes!
Back again and was not disappointed. Some nice updates made to the kitchen and bathroom in the off-season. Had the lake to ourselves for all but about 4 hours over the course of a 4 night stay. Peaceful and relaxing.
We loved our stay here! The cabin truly is a great place to “get away” from the busy everyday life. Our family was able to fully enjoy the quiet, beautiful land! Lots of hikes and playing in the snow! We also enjoyed the wood stove in the cabin with games and reading. Thank you!
If you want to re-connect with the nature and to take a break from the busy and hectic everyday life, Double Eagle Lodge is the perfect place just for that. The lodge is situated off the grid and by a beautiful lake; you can go fishing or swimming, and the owners provide a complimentary paddle boat and a row boat. The lodge is very clean and well maintained. This was our fourth visit to the Double Eagle Lodge, and we cannot wait to visit it again!
The cabin, the woods, the lake… it was all beautiful. This was the perfect location for my family and I to disconnect from our electronics and create some beautiful memories. The cabin kitchen was well stocked with the pots, pans, utensils to cook some great meals. There was also a board game in the cabin that we really enjoyed playing in the evenings.

Awesome
We had an awesome time. Because we were off the grid for the most part we were able to disconnect from technology and the stress of home/work and focus on connecting as a family. The property is beautiful, the cabin is cozy, and the amenities are great.
This was exactly what we were looking for, and better then we expected. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. We didn't leave the property during our 5 night stay. We spent our days fishing on the boat and evenings relaxing in the cabin. We hope to return in the future and only dream about having a similar setup of our own someday.
