About this property
Enjoy nature and get away from it all!
Welcome to Double Eagle Lodge located remotely in the heart of Michigan's pristine Upper Peninsula. Escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life with a trip into the great outdoors. No cellphone reception or Internet connection allows you to relax in the quiet of nature. This quaint log cabin is located on the shores of Long Lake. Though the lodge is 13 miles from the nearest electricity source, the solar panels and back up generator charge the battery bank to give the comforts of home while preserving the natural sounds of the surroundings. This log cabin sleeps six total, with four single beds in the loft and a queen size bed in the private bedroom downstairs. The cabin is equipped with indoor plumbing including a flush toilet and a shower, as well as a fully functioning kitchen. There is a separate building for the propane fired sauna and a second shower.
With the exception of the owner’s cabin there are no other cabins on the lake. Long lake has excellent fishing with Walleye, Bass, Perch and Northern Pike, which are the most predominant fish. If one is quiet, there are plenty of wildlife to catch a glimpse of such as moose, deer, bear, wolves, coyote, beaver, otter and many birds – including bald eagles nesting nearby. If you enjoy kayaking or canoeing, one can paddle up and downstream until beaver dams are reached. One can hike, mountain bike, swim, snowshoe, and snowmobile all day and may not see another human. Finally, at the end of the day everyone can relax sitting around the fire pit watching the sunset and roasting S'mores. Once the fire dies down the night is truly dark with no influence of city lights. The stars are incredibly clear and bright!
Available on the property for your use are 2 kayaks with paddles, a paddle boat, and a fishing boat! What else could you ask for.
