Keep it simple at this peaceful and conveniently located property. Sandstone Rustic Retreat is less than 2 miles from downtown Wisconsin Dells. This secluded 6 acre property is nestled on the quiet backwaters of the Wisconsin River. Featuring a 150 ft of spectacular waterfront, 80 ft of dock, and 225 ft of raised walkway through the fern and moss filled sandstone canyon. Our recently remodeled Cottage offers a cozy space to reconnect, relax and make lasting memories.

Our property is comprised of 6ac of land on the Wisconsin River...we have a cornfield to the North, a seasonal cabin to our South the river to the East and a road and natural area to the West. We are 1.8mi from downtown Wisconsin Dells. Our property has 4 cabins, perfect for couples and friends to come to the same place and have their own accommodations, 1 Cottage with 2 queen beds, a Gathering House (Converted Tavern) social area, that is set up as an intimate and cozy atmosphere (think speakeasy), a 24x24 covered deck and 24x10 patio area. Follow the trail down the hill towards the river and you'll find 225ft of raised walkway through a natural Sandstone canyon that arrives at our private 80ft dock on the riverfront. You'll find excellent walleye, muskie and sturgeon fishing as well as carp and catfish sheep's head and a bounty of other stuff to catch along with scenery that will make you fall in love...
The views from the dock are the crown jewel of the property.

We offer a charcoal grilling station for our cabins and a central grilling location by the Gathering House. We have a fire pit in the space beyond the covered deck and plenty of wood to burn on site.

Our goal is to host couples, small groups of friends, family or coworkers and provide a space to disconnect from technology, connect with each other, share some unique experiences and make amazing memories you and your loved one/s, you're closest friends or coworkers will look back on for years to come. Welcome to our Rustic Cottage retreat where the entire property is yours to explore! The Gathering House beckons you from 7:30am to 11:00pm, inviting you to indulge in a delightful cup of coffee, latte, espresso, cappuccino, or a soothing hot tea. Revel in the comfort of the space, complete with ample seating, WiFi for your work needs, and an array of board games and cards. Two additional bathrooms ensure convenience for all. Feel free to bring your beverage of choice, order in some delicious food, or simply unwind on the couch by the fireplace, whether in the company of fellow guests or that special someone.

Just steps away, our covered patio and grilling station await, accompanied by a spacious communal fire pit area under the starlit sky.

Embark on a leisurely stroll down the property to discover a wooden walkway leading to the dock and the picturesque Wisconsin River. Sip your morning coffee by the water's edge or try your hand at fishing during the day.

**During June-August, our dock bar welcomes river traffic on Saturdays (2pm-6ish) and Sundays (12pm-5ish). In the winter months (January-April), the Gathering House transforms into a pop-up Speakeasy a couple times a month from 7pm to 11pm. Fear not, our valued guests are always welcome, and you can even request to join the reservation list for our exclusive Speakeasy nights. Your unforgettable getaway awaits at our charming haven!
Other things to note
Dog Policy: we are a dog friendly property and have 2 dog friendly cabins and 1 dog friendly cottage. If you have your dog staying with you they must be leashed on the property and may not be left unattended in your cabin/cottage unless they are kenneled. You are responsible for any damage they my cause in the cabin or on the property. Please pick up after your pet and dispose of their waste in the outdoor garbage cans. Any harm caused to any other guests or other guest's dogs will be solely your responsibility.

Our cabins are close to each other. For the enjoyment of all, we strictly enforce quiet time from 11pm-8am.

NO SWIMMING OFF THE DOCK The river is unpredictable and you cannot see obstructions or tangle hazards under water.
