We arrived to a clean space and wonderfully roomy outdoor areas, the deck was clean and the dock was hangout ready! We had a wonderful time exploring local hangouts and coming back to the best AC on the lake was a highlight! The beds made for restful sleep, Goldilocks style: just right! Checkout was easy and hassle free!

My family and I live in the Watkinsville/Athens area and have always loved spending time on Lake Sinclair. Sanford House is one of our favorite places to relax, unplug, and enjoy the water, and we wanted to share that experience with others.

When we’re not hosting guests, you’ll likely find us out on the lake swimming, kayaking, grilling on the deck, or simply enjoying the peaceful cove views with our kids. We hope Sanford House becomes a place where your family and friends can slow down, spend time together, and make great memories at the lake.

Why they chose this property

Sanford House sits on Sanford Drive and has been part of the Sanford family for many years. It’s a well-loved lake home with a lot of history and character.

The house is located in a quiet cove that offers the best of both worlds. The water is calm enough for swimming and relaxing off the dock, but still perfect for boating and exploring the lake. You can enjoy beautiful sunrise and sunset views from the dock and deck, and downtown Milledgeville is only about 10 minutes away for restaurants, groceries, and shopping. The neighbors are nearby but the cove stays peaceful and quiet, making it a great place to unwind.

What makes this property unique

Sanford House has a lot of charm and lake-house character while still offering some nice updates throughout the home. The private dock sits in deep water and includes a swim ladder, making it perfect for swimming, floating, or jumping in on a hot day.

The calm cove location makes kayaking and relaxing on the water especially enjoyable, and guests are welcome to use the kayaks during their stay. The house itself has been thoughtfully updated over time, including a tiled master shower and updated kitchen countertops, while still keeping the cozy feel of a classic Lake Sinclair cottage.
