Very relaxing.

  • 5 of 5

The fishing is great, and very relaxing when having a fire. Hiking through the woods for a couple miles was very nice also. I will definitely be going back. The owners are extremely nice and helpful. The cabins are very well kept and have everything you need. Awesome stay.

An amazing place to escape to from our busy lives!

  • 5 of 5

What can I say, since the beginning of the planning stage everything was amazing, the owner was extremely friendly and answered whatever questions I had. Once our family arrive, the grounds were fantastic. We headed out on the paddle-boat and went swimming, then sat around the campfire and cooked hot dogs and smores. We also got a chance to fish. The peacefulness there was exactly what we were looking for, it was quiet and restful. I definitely recommend this place. This was our first camping trip of the summer and I am so glad we came here.

Excellent place for rest and relaxation

  • 5 of 5

Great and relaxing Time. The cabin was perfect for our special getaway. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Owners live near by, but they give you space but they are close if you need them which is nice.

Cabin #2 comes equipped for a comfortable stay and can sleep 4, double bed was comfortable for our week stay which is surprising for me as I have chronic back pain. Outdoor seating is provided, but I am glad we brought our anti-gravity chairs for total comfort. For a short stay what is provided will work.

Location is perfect, very secluded and even though there are other cabins on the property you almost don't notice it the way the outdoor fire-pit and picnic tables are set up. Watching the lake is very peaceful and relaxing with a nice fire after a long day.

Wood is provided and is a good mixture of hardwoods and misc. timbers we cooked over an open fire nearly everyday and the three stacks of wood we purchased lasted through most of the week. Some of the pieces are large, so if you have an ax or hatchet I would recommend bringing it to keep the perfect fire roaring.

Wildlife is all around, had a black squirrel around all week and he was a very interesting creature to watch, seen deer, I believe we saw an eagle but my eyesight, is not as good as it once was, but Greg told us they are around. Ducks are awesome, geese a little annoying (but they are geese). Was told there are some monster fish (even seen some of the pics of what other visitors caught), but I was only able to pull a few blue gill and a perch, lake is very weedy, so if you plan on fishing take the owners advice and bring the correct gear. Jays sporting good store is close in Clare and a great place to visit if your an outdoor enthusiast.

Cannot swim in the lake, but if your there during hot weather many other lakes are close by to take a refreshing dip. Took a day trip to Farwell and found a consignment shop, if you like antiques and cool old things stop by this place, don't remember the name, but it would be hard to miss. Casino in Mount Pleasant is not very far and we spent a great afternoon there, didn't win much, but we didn't lose. Great place to visit we had a great time even though we are not much into gambling.

We are already discussing going back, we had a fantastic stay and would recommend it. After 6 nights we were not ready to leave. You will not be disappointed.

Babymoon getaway

  • 5 of 5

We went for our last moments before our baby arrived- it couldn't have been more perfect and peaceful. Beautiful Michigan weather, and time on the paddle boat.

Completely away from the world it seemed. If you need a good, relaxing, remote, away from it all mini vacation- go here. It was amazing.

Enjoyed greatly!

  • 5 of 5

We came up for an outdoor wedding that was held on the property and stayed in a cabin. Everything was perfect. The cabin was spic and span, and the bed comfortable for my husband and me. My son and his friend enjoyed the fishing and their catches! I would love to come up in the fall for a color tour and in the winter to do some snowmobiling. The property is beautiful. The owners are friendly. I don't think you can go wrong by staying here.
