Columbia Ranch is 40 acre playground including a fully furnished vacation home built in 2006. It's location enjoys great access to Lake Roosevelt, Two Rivers, Banks Lake, Grand Coulee Dam, and the Fruitland Valley. It's also a reasonable commute to Spokane, Gonzaga, EWU, and Whitworth. There is something for everybody anytime of the year. With a family oriented feel, we offer all the ammennities you'd expect and more. The home will comfortably sleep up to 9 guests, but can easily accommodate up to 12 (if the pull-out twin bed combo sofa and blow-ups are acceptable). Open concept on the main floor includes a full kitchen, family room, dining area, and large island bar for those that love to cook. Also, a huge stone woodburning fireplace and big flat screen tv can be enjoyed from anywhere on the main floor. Main flow locates two private bedrooms and the laundry room. Upstairs has a large loft, which can be closed off for privacy, and includes 4 bunk beds and one single bed, along with the upstairs 1/2 bath. Use the dimmers on every light switch to set the mood. You will appreciate hand-scraped hardwoods throughout and the solid hardwood cabinets, doors, and countertops which give this 'cabin' a cozy but lvery uxurious feel. About Tyler Gillis

Our Family resides in Tacoma, WA but frequent Eastern Washington. We love boating on the lake in the summer and chasing around the animals in the fall and winter.

Tyler Gillis purchased this house in 2006

Why Tyler Gillis chose Hunters

Our family really digs the outdoors and we wanted to be on Lk Roosevelt ever since we saw it for the first time in 2002; it IS the hidden jewel of Eastern Washington. We chose this 40 acre property to build, because it is close to town, 1,000 of miles of state land, and Two Rivers. It has unbelievable views of Lake Roosevelt to the West, Sherman Pass to the North, the Huckleberry Mountains to the East, and the Hunters countryside to the South. The deck off the main floor has 180 degrees views that will blow you away. You will find something new to be amazed with every time you look. At night you will see stars and more stars.... It's gotta be seen to believe.

What makes this house unique

IN THE SPRING AND SUMMER: Bring your ATV's, your boat, and some seadoos. If you like to watch or photograph wildlife, maybe go for a hike; after that you may not want to leave the property at all. But if you do want to hit the water - The Hunters, Wa boat launch is 5 minutes down the road. You can chose any number of sandy beaches to call your own for the day. Attention Golfers! Pack your clubs because Chewelah CC is really good and really tough. It is 45 min away from the cabin, but only minutes away from Colville (the 'big city'). IN THE FALL AND WINTER: Bring your ATV's, cross-country skis, and snowmobiles. You will enjoy the property and 'cabin' in a different way. This is our favorite time to be there. The animals are active so go for a walk and try cover all 40 acres. Typically the weather is great; cool and clear most of the time. Get the indoor, and outdoor, fire roaring as you watch the sun set before taking in your favorite movie. Prepare a feast to eat for dinner, you'll be hungry after all the fresh air.

Notes:
AT THE CABIN: The 600 sf covered deck is suited for large groups and big fun bar-b-que's while you watch the horseshoe pits, the deer, and the sun set. There is a horseshoe pit and a large climbing rock for the kids to conquer... all in the yard. Make sure to pack binoculars! OFF-CAMPUS: World-class fishing awaits you on the Lake for Walleye or further north at the Upper Columbia nicknamed the 'Jurassic' for its legendary trout. Summer guests will love a 'real' 4th of July celebration. The little town of Hunters does a great show and it feels very American. Family Fun! For the adventuresome crowd, you need to experience the Poker Run (August) down at Two Rivers and up the Spokane River. It's been called Lk Roosevelt's version of Seafair. 90 degree weather, gambling from your boat, people watching. Larger groups: We can provide addtional lodging on property in the Farm House which is fully furnished, call for details re: Farm House

Family Getaway for the Whole Family

  • 5 of 5

Another successful family vacation, thanks to the Gillis Family retreat! This is our second year staying at Tyler's place on the hill and although we have a small army to accommodate, the place has more than enough room to sleep 6 adults and 7 kids! Tyler sends out plenty of communication to keep you informed in the week(s) leading up to your vacation and is timely and responsive with any questions or concerns. Thanks again to Tyler and his family for a great trip. We hope to be back next year! DA - Portland, Oregon

Off The Beaten Path, But Not Too Far Off!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 3 nights with 7 adults. All 7 of us required our own bed, and it worked out well enough for our needs. I was a little hesitant when booking, but figured it was a guys "camping" trip so we could make it work and we did. The pictures on VRBO are accurate, but do not even come close to capturing the actual beauty of this place. Views are amazing and it's just far enough off the main road that it is absolutely silent both day and night. Not a far drive to get to the lake, maybe 12-15 minutes. The inside of the cabin did not disappoint! It was way above our expectations honestly. You can really tell the owners spend time here themselves and have a real pride in ownership. Things were well maintained both inside and out. Plenty of necessities ready and waiting when we arrived. Not within the owners control, but having use of the fire pit would have been great (burn ban June-September). I really see this cabin being a great place to visit anytime of year, and would like to go again during the cooler months. Our favorite hang out during the trip was the horse shoe pits. Competitive group of guys, so of course we played many games to see who could knock off the "kings of the pit"... Thank you very much for sharing such a great place! We truly had a great time and for a very reasonable rate!

Wonderful hideaway cabin with an Amazing view!

  • 5 of 5

Rented this cabin over the 4th if July weekend with the goal of exploring the area. But spent the majority of the time at the cabin and exploring the property. The views from the front porch are simply beautiful. The owners are very responsive with answering questions and also providing tips of what to do in the area. If you are looking to escape and just enjoy nature, then I highly recommend this rental.

Secluded and beautiful

  • 5 of 5

Ty and Janine had this place stocked! You don't have to bring a thing. The view is amazing and you can be as loud as you want because there is no one for miles. We had a small wedding here and it was gorgeous! Everyone had a blast, plus we could bring our dogs and they had fun too! Definitely coming back for an anniversary!

Our new favorite VRBO by far!

  • 5 of 5

If you love hunting, wildlife, open spaces, and zero people along with views and the bliss of silence then this is your place! Loved it. House was so well stocked and comfy. I love that you let us bring our dogs and we did follow the rule so we brought 3 dog beds and there was still plenty of floor space. The water in the house must be on a great filter system it was great. Everything we needed was available in Hunters. We have Verizon and we got 4G about 85% of the time so it was perfect. I appreciated the Dish network. We hiked between 7-10 miles each day so coming back and relaxing at night was great. Can't say enough. Making our next reservation ASAP. Tyler and his family are great to work with and will respond via email while you are there if you need help or questions. Thanks for allowing us to rent your beautiful woodsy cabin.
