Spacious Lakeview Suite That Can Sleep 2 To 4 Guests
"2017 BEST VRBO PROPERTY"
A VRBO member for only 4 years, this well appointed suite has 125 reviews, more than any other property over the same time period. Before you even go inside you realize this place is special. The custom deck offers an exquisite hot tub, in which you can star gaze through the sky portal in the deck above. Two tables for four present different perspectives of the forest below, and another on the upper deck gives you a heavenly view of the lake and the mountains beyond. All sorts of song birds are busy coming and going from the hanging bird feeder that seems to be floating in space. And everywhere you look is another potted or hanging plant. You will be impressed before you ever go inside.
Jack will walk you through the suite to explain the amenities and features, starting with a king bedroom with a comfy leather love seat, flat screen TV, and even a "white noise" fan for those who require it. The coffee corner is separate from either bedroom, and serves as a place to sit and talk while enjoying the art work. The adjoining hall displays four original drawings of St. Louis classics, and includes a 1904 photo of the original Farris wheel at the worlds fair.
The bathroom is efficient and exceptionally clean, with soft bath towels. But you don't have to use your bath towel for the hot tub, a nice big beach towel is provided. Of course extra toilet paper, bar soap, hair drier and even an iron come with the bath.
The kitchenette is just that, providing conveniences such as a choice of paper bowls and plates or glass bowls and plates. Plastic knives and forks or stainless, your choice. Great coffee cups, the kind that hold enough coffee so you can sit outside on the deck and wake up slowly. The microwave sits atop the small refrigerator that has three ice trays, and next to it is a tidy bar sink. Then there is a toaster, some complementary coffee (not packets), and the coffee maker (filters included). Eureka Springs which is only 15 minutes away, has some 50 restaurants and Jack will provide you with his list of some of the best, including their addresses and phone numbers making it easy to assure seating. The suites kitchenette is designed to warm up the goodies you bring back, not for full blown cooking in the suite, so leave your hot plate or portable surface grill at home please. However there is a charcoal grill on the deck where you can grille a steak or maybe some burgers.
The queen bedroom has a glass table with two chairs, an arm chair and of course the flat screen TV and "white noise" fan. Everything about this suite is class, from the antique brass lamp to the marble night table. I got the feeling of elegance when I went through for the first time and I think you will too. Special little things like literature on Eureka Springs and Beaver Lake, the most comfortable bed I've slept in, and the quiet, private, relaxing setting make this property #1.
The hot tub is an option; You can choose not to use it, or you can pay a deposit of $50 that you get back if you follow the hot tub rules and return it in the same condition as when you arrived.
This property is popular for honeymoons, anniversaries, families, and for a girls weekend get-a-way. If relaxing, quiet comfort is what you are looking for, this is the place.
Reservations should be made well in advance to guarantee the dates you desire.
FOR A SPECIAL TREAT. Jack does a private tour that lasts about an hour and a half, during which you will hear and see things that you otherwise would never see or hear. It's really special because you get to go down inside one of the original healing springs, go to the top of the Crescent (the most haunted hotel in America), and go across the only wooden suspension bridge in the State of Arkansas. The $50 fee covers everyone in the suite.
Jacks place offers guests the opportunity to experience a lifestyle Jack does everyday, that is a far cry from a motel or hotel. Anxious to help, Jack will join in and visit with you if you wish, but is very aware of your privacy needs. It's another world at Jacks place, and I wouldn't miss it for the world if I were you.

About Jack Cross
I stumbled onto Eureka Springs in 1971, and just as you probably will, I fell in Love. My former wife and I started out with a juice bar, then a restaurant, then a shop. I currently sell real estate, design and build custom homes, have a custom deck company, and market a couple of self invented products. But all that is just a sideline. Eureka Springs is not about money, it's about lifestyle. What I really do, is enjoy life. My social life and businesses, my church, these magical Ozark hills, hiking and exploring, boating, fishing, and swimming off my dock. I love meeting people, and look forward to meeting you. However I will not intrude upon your privacy, you can have my company at your will.
Jack Cross purchased this House in 2005
Why Jack Cross chose Cedar
I live in paradise. I lived in town for 14 years and enjoyed it, but living on the lake is unbeatable. Fortunately it's only a few minutes from town and all on paved roads. There is something about living with the woods all around you and a huge body of water in site. The quiet, the peacefulness, and the feeling of being in control of your life is exemplary. You are invited to see what I mean.
What makes this House unique
I chose my house because it is on the end of a ridge road with a great view of the lake. I spend a great deal of time on the decks I added, and even grow vegetables on them in the summer. My nearest neighbors homes are both vacation homes, so I rarely see them. But when I do, they are always so happy to be back to paradise.

This place was perfect for our anniversary getaway. Beautiful view and fantastic hot tub! Jack was an amazing host with all the best places to eat and see, laid out with addresses and all! He included a handrawn map to a super cool bridge! He also gave us a challenge. We had to find a specific place. Loved that! Thanks, Jack, for a wonderful first visit to Eureka Springs! We will, most certainly, be back!
Beautiful Relaxing Getaway
We had a very relaxing weekend at the house and loved spending time in Eureka. Jack gave us many interesting places to visit and enjoyed all of them.
Very chill, beautiful place on the lake.
Jack ( and Jackson) are wonderful hosts!
If you want a quiet, laid -back, and beautiful place to stay when you go to Eureka Springs, then this is for you. Jack is very helpful in letting you know what to do, where to eat and visit and an excellent host. He leaves you to the space, if thats what you prefer, but is very knowledgable about pretty much anything going on locally.
We enjoyed our short visit and will be back soon!
Relaxing! Scenic! Hot tub was awesome!
The owner is very knowledgeable about the area if you are interested in sight seeing. It is very clean and modern. The deck, with the hot tub is dreamy. There are 2 bedroom..a small hallway...a small "coffee" nook..and a small kitchen. The owner does live upstairs, so if you are picky about that It's worth noting. He doesn't bother you, but for anyone wanting complete privacy you should know this. The peace and quiet is amazing.
My daddy used to say "you can please all the people some of the time, and you can please some of the people all the time, but you can't please all the people all the time."
I live close by, but I do have my supplies and maintenance products upstairs, which is closed off from the suite completely.
Now check out my photos and then come enjoy my little piece of paradise. Jack
Great scenic location. Ideal getaway from the daily stress of life.
Very well kept and clean.
Perfect weekend getaway!
Exactly as pictured. Jack had several excellent recommendations for restaurants, hiking trails, etc. Can't wait to go back and try out the rest.
Jack was very quick to respond to any requests we had. When the temperature dropped from 62 to 20 overnight, I awoke to find that the steps leading to the deck had an invisible sheet of ice on them. One call to Jack and the steps were salted and slip-free.
I would like to point out that Jack doesn't stay in the upstairs area of the house when the basement is rented out. We had plenty of privacy!
Eureka Springs is a magical hidden jewel located in the Ozark mountains, the oldest mountain range in America. It is not unusual to see a bald eagle, or a wild turkey, a red fox, or deer prancing around everywhere. Your host (Jack) can direct you to some great hiking. Our latest Eureka Springs feature is the new 'zip line' just opened March first. Turpentine Creek Animal Park features lions, tigers, and bears.....'Oh My!' There is Pivot Rock, Lake Lucerne (where Al Capone had a hideout), the steam engine train with dinner car, the Great Passion Play, Lake Leatherwood, and countless others. The only thing we don't have right now, is you. But you can change that. Your host, Jack Cross, has been in the area for more than 40 years, and is a wealth of helpful information. His guest suite is just around the corner from Starkey Marina where you can rent boats, buy pizza and beer, or BBQ at the free pavilion. Jack knows where to fish for bass, catfish, crappie, or trout, all right around the corner. If you desire a personal tour of the area and Eureka Springs, with historical information from a great story teller, at a nominal charge, just ask Jack.
