We find this review to be extremely unfair and misleading and would like to clarify a few points for future guests. Our listing clearly identifies the space as a private basement/garden suite with a separate entrance in our owner-occupied home. It also accurately describes the kitchenette, which includes a mini refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. These details are not hidden. During our conversations, you acknowledged that you had not read all of the listing details. Our listing has never advertised the property as beachfront. It states that we are conveniently located near Chicago's lakefront, beaches, McCormick Place, the Museum Campus, and downtown attractions. Your comments regarding privacy are also inaccurate. Guests have a private entrance and exclusive use of the suite. We do not enter the space during a stay unless requested by the guest or in the event of an emergency. At no point did we enter the unit or receive any privacy concerns from you. Finally, our communication before your arrival consisted of reminders about policies already disclosed in the listing, including registering the correct number of overnight guests and the 2:00 p.m. check-in time. Despite those reminders, you arrived two hours early expecting the suite to be ready. We take pride in accurately representing our home, and our many positive reviews reflect the experience that guests can expect when they read the listing and book accordingly.

Jason was a great guest! He left the unit as he found it and was also able to follow the entry instructions and let himself in perfectly (which was a plus). It was a pleasure having him as a guest. We would definitely welcome him back to our home!
