Very nice stay

The place was very clean and was all we needed for a couple of nights in Chicago. Parking on the street can be difficult to find, but we got by fine. If you're lucky enough to meet any of the neighbors, they're delightful.

Stayed there for 2 nights. It's near Chinatown. No problem finding parking on the streets. Gas station, grocery store, Walgreen nearby. The host gave clear and easy to follow information. He is quick with responses and accommodating. I'll book this place again next time I visit Chicago.

Close to Chinatown - affordable, cozy area

If you looking for basic accommodations in an BnB in Chicago, this rental is definitely both. Apartment 2R is cute on the surface. A kitchen, sm. appliances, two bedrooms with LOTS of beds, a decently sized living room, good fridge, safe sleepy neighborhood. SPECIAL NOTE: DO NOT PARK on Archer overnight . YOU WILL BE TOWED. It is quite a long trek to get to the impound lot and at least a 175 fine; it took seven hours off our stay in Chicago. lesson learned the hard wayThe more you look, you begin the experience the same quirks you’d have living at home. Bathroom sink hot/cold are reversed. ask landlord for the WiFi password, it's not posted. DO NOT lean on the wall near the small appliances - the lights go out. Don’t start a fire just for coffee. I dunnoMake sure to bring ALL your own basics for the bathroom: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, bar soapIf you need special pillows, bring them. DO not do anything more than sleep on the bed, the frame might not surviveBring your own coffee pods & filters & sweeteners or creamer. There is a French press carafe so you don’t technically need a filter. There is a 59 MANDATORY property damage policy but for that you’d expect nothing to be broken or damaged upon arrival. (we sent our long list to Victor so might be much better than in March 2025)All in all. Decent for the location as we wanted to be near Chinatown

Dear Michael, Thank you for your detailed feedback and for choosing our rental for your stay in Chicago. We appreciate your honesty and are always looking for ways to improve our guests’ experiences. We're glad you found the apartment’s location convenient and the neighborhood safe for your visit. We strive to provide comfortable accommodations with essential amenities while keeping our rental affordable for travelers. We sincerely regret the parking inconvenience you experienced. Chicago's parking regulations can be strict, and we will ensure that guests receive clear warnings about street parking restrictions to avoid similar situations in the future. Regarding the quirks you noted, we have addressed the hot and cold water reversal in the bathroom sink and will provide clearer instructions for WiFi access. We also appreciate your patience with the light switch near the small appliances and will be investigating this further to ensure a smooth experience for future guests. We encourage all guests to review our listing’s details to ensure they bring any personal essentials they may need. While we do provide basic necessities, we understand that some guests have specific preferences for toiletries, coffee supplies, or bedding. Your feedback will help us enhance our communication about what to expect. Thank you again for staying with us, and we hope to have the opportunity to host you again with an even better experience in the future! Best regards, Victor Trejo

Points faibles : Communication
Clean and comfortable inside, Wi-Fi information provided was inaccurate, host did not respond when asked for clarification- not a giant problem, just difficult when you don’t have service in a brick building. Location was convenient and neighborhood had good restaurants/bakery.

Points forts : Propreté
Points faibles : Communication
I messaged the host on May 20 to say our plans had changed and to ask if we could stay there June 4th and June 5th instead of June 5th and June 6th. I got no reply until June 5th. It offered a weak apology but then moved straightto the details of our stay on June 5th and 6th.I should have canceled both nights when I still could but foolishly kept thinking I would hear from the host, and he did not sent details on how to check in until the afternoon of the day we were due to arrive. The place itself was habitable but problematic. For example, one window through which neighbors could see has no curtain or any other covering. Many other windows had only sheers. In particular, the beds were squeaky and uncomfortable. But the worse part was having to pay for a second night we didn't use. We qualified for at least a partial refund on that, but receiving no reply from the host for more than two weeks prevented us from doing so.This is the kind of experience that makes me not trust VRBO.

Cute spot

Cute spot, recommend host to remodel flooring and appliances. Refrigerator is noisy. Heater system was also very loud at night. Not sure if that’s common in most homes in older Chicago. Host was great in response rate. Overall enjoyed stay.

Very clean, and located within walking distance to the CTA.

Very clean. The shower was on the small side. We are also all 6 ft and taller, but served it’s purpose. We felt safe. We were also able to walk to the bus and train station. Both were about a 10-15 minute walk.

Clean and nice

The property itself was overall good. It is street parking, fit in where you can. The shower/tub was pretty bad. The water pressure was horrible and it’s tiny. The beds were pretty uncomfortable and the couch was terrible. You get what you pay for. I did appreciate the communication of the property owner and the kids toys.
