Coco Point is a 2 bedroom 1.5 bath cottage which was just completed in April 2013. It was built with traditional cottage design and appeal in mind. Wood floors, painted v-match ceilings, exposed beams and framing, all add to its casual comfort, making this a true island get away.
The first floor has an open floor plan with 180 degree water views. This is where you will find a full kitchen with stainless steel refrigerator, gas stove/oven, microwave and dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans and dishes. Off the kitchen to the left you will find a half bath. The living room with water views all around has a ceiling fan and french doors to let the sea breeze blow through as well as AC. The french doors lead out to the large wrap around porch where you will find adirondack chairs as well as table and chairs to enjoy a meal or morning coffee.
Up the stairs and to the right is the bathroom with tile shower, straight ahead and to the left are two bedrooms with queen beds. The second floor bedrooms have vaulted ceilings and ceiling fans as well as AC.
Other amenities include a flat screen tv, dvd player, small collection of movies, BBQ grill, music playing station that you can plug your MP3 player, CD Player, IPOD etc. Bath towels and bed linens are provided, please bring your beach towels. High speed wireless internet onsite.
The west side of our point has a private deep water dock that is approximately 50' on one side and 20' out on the point. The water depth is approximately 10' at all tides. The east side of the point is the southern end of Coco Bay Beach. Here she can step onto the beach while he jumps into the rental boat on the other side to go fishing.
We chose this property because my wife and kids like to go to the beach and I like to go fishing, which made Coco Point perfect for us.
My daughter and I came to Green Turtle to dive and fish. Although we didn't have a boat, because of this location at Coco Point, we saw amazing fish snorkeling the bay and just sitting on the dock! The first day, we saw bonefish, spotted eagle Ray, sea turtle and a nurse shark. The cottage was so comfortable and we were very happy to have air conditioning during our stay! Kitchen was user friendly and we were close to Brendals for our diving and Green Turtle Club. Marg was a great help getting us moved in and assisting us with luggage in the rain before we left. We hope to be able to come back to this lovely home!
This house was amazing. My wife and I have spent a lot of time on and around Green Turtle and this if the best house we have stayed in. The simplicity of it won us over. It was not filled with nicknacks to draw your attention away from the flaws. Whoever designed and built the house made the perfect island getaway. The views from all the windows was great. The wrapped porch had a view of the beach to one side and dock/bay out another. The downstairs was a great gathering area for our friends. The kitchen was open and well equipped with gas appliances and a large table which made for good times at meals and games. A gas grill is outside as well. The half bath downstairs was huge, not just a toilet crammed in a closet. Up stairs bedrooms were the perfect size with extremely comfortable beds. We slept like babies every night. And you can't beat the private deep water dock. We had no issues getting out 27' boat in and out at anytime. Even at lowest tide we still had four feet under the engines. A friend of mine caught is first bonefish on the fly right off the dock. It truly is an amazing little house with the perfect location on the island. I cant wait to return next year. I highly recommend staying here.
We had a fabulous week at Coco Point. The house is magnificent. Quality craftsmanship was given to every part of the house. The view is spectacular. Everything is new. The location is perfect. Great beaches are all around. A golf cart provides all the transportation needed to get to New Plymouth or any of the many island spots. The house has all the amenities as needed. Many windows and French doors provide a great breeze through or there is upstairs and downstairs AC if needed. The dock is in deep water for boat access. Our 10 yr old grandson had a great time fishing for Mutton Snapper off the dock. House caretaker, Marg, is extremely helpful and available for any assistance as required. All the folks on the Island are very friendly. We rented a boat from Sunset Marina. They delivered the boat to the dock for us. Pineapples has a great dinner with sunset. Harvey's is also a great restaurant, run by a local family that has been in New Plymouth for many generations. Most all the food establishments are well run and provide great customer service. We looked at many places while we were there and were very grateful to have chosen - Coco Point House. The owner, Edger, is very personable and trustworthy. Everything was exactly as advertised (actually things were above expectation). Can't wait to go back soon.
Green Turtle Cay is a small island off the main island of Abaco. It is accessed by a small ferry which makes several daily trips. The island has approximately 12 restaurants and take outs, gift shops, dive/snorkel guides, fishing charters, a few boat rental companies, several golf cart rentals, grocery stores and many secluded beaches.
