Overview

About the property

2 bedroom/2 bath cottage surrounded by meadows and woods

Cedar Creek Retreat is located on 20 secluded acres of meadows and forest on a hill above a lovely creek. Enjoy the tranquility of nature in our modern cottage. Hike down a forest trail to private Cedar Creek frontage or enjoy the gas wood-stove in the living room. Keep your eyes out for wildflowers, deer, rabbits, humming birds, and eagles.

The home is very comfortable and has a nice layout.

Each of the two bedrooms have queen size beds and their own bathroom (one with bath, one with shower). A tri-fold pad is available for a fifth person. All rooms have views of the meadows and woods beyond.

The property location is on a dead end road a mile out of the tiny town of Yacolt, Washington, and an easy hour drive from Portland, Oregon. Yacolt offers a restaurant, pub, bank, post office, gas station, and basic grocery store. Be ready to prepare your own meals as restaurant options are limited.

For those who are up for time in the car, the property is a good base for exploring the south side of Mt. Saint Helens. Otherwise, there are lots of fun options nearby. A highlight is Moulton Falls park located 4 miles to the south. It offers lush forest, emerald green waters, fun footbridges, and spectacular waterfalls. There are a number of other very nice parks nearby along the East Lewis river including: Lucia Falls Park, Sunset Falls Park, and Lewisville Park. Other nearby activities include: Wine tasting at Moulton Falls Winery, Pomeroy living history farm, and the historic Clelatchie Prairie Railroad that operates a couple of weekends a month.

-Guests must be 25 or older to rent. No smoking or illegal drugs, and no pets.

-5 guests maximum, 2 car maximum. An additional child may be allowed with approval (6 guests total).

-Parties or large gatherings are not allowed.

Definitely an incredible retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Cedar Creek property stay was so comfortable! This place has everything you need for a nice quiet getaway. We appreciated the overall cleanliness, the full kitchen, beautiful outdoor living space, the comfortable bedroom and all the additional amenities. The trail down to the stream was great - from the cool temps to the nice riparian forest surround. We were easily able to use this place for our travels into the Mount St Helens areas. The Ape Cave and all the trails along that road are highly recommended and easily accessed. Overall, this place is a 5 all the way!

It was hard to leave this beautiful retreat spot. It is modern but simple, secluded and envigorating. We would love to return if ever in the area again.

The house was awesome. It was very big and everything was so comfy. We enjoyed sitting around reading our books and just enjoying the nature all around. This is a great place to decompress.

We had a wonderful stay in Yacolt. We were able to unplug and relax among the trees and wildlife. Dharma was really responsive whenever any problems arose. We'd definitely recommend it.

We were looking for a way to get away and unplug for a few day, and that's exactly what we got! Didn't see another soul for 3 days. Loved the beautiful home, peace & quiet. The amazing fireplace should not be missed out on! Kept the entire house so warm & cozy! Fabulous furnishings & beds!!! We plan to come back often!!!
