Loft was clean and really cool. Elevator was kind of a pain but expected in an older building. Location was convenient and parking was easy. Host was friendly and helpful.
Everything went very well I thank you for hosting us this weekend. The pad was cozy for the most part. It had some flaws. The shower pressure the sketchy elevator, then the endless flight of stairs. I will say yeah, I’ll stay there again.
Very cool vibe. Just a scooter ride away from all of our favorite Detroit spots!

Liked: Communication, location, listing accuracy
There was a ton of silly little things that built up to not an amazing experience. The building had a new parking system that needed an additional key (sounded like owner knew about that) but was not provided so we got stuck in the gated parking lot for a while until someone who lived there helped us. There was so many things almost broken or covered up to not look broke- kitchen table was held up by a plant pot and 2 chairs legs were bowed and not stable at all. The AC “works” but one single window unit on a higher floor does not help much. Also the elevator is not up to code- the inspection notice said the inspection expired in 2024 If the property was maintained better this would be the cutest place, it’s still cute but you can’t look at hard.
The unit was not clean - it was disgusting. Neighbors were so loud it felt as if they were in our unit with us. Host did not communicate with me at all after check in, despite my attempts to reach him.
Host was not extremely communicative. He finally started communicating once we were just a couple days out but even then it wasn't consistent. Rental was not very clean. Food in fridge and freezer. Dirty dishes in cabinets. Just a lot of uncleanliness everywhere. There was one roll of toilet paper - only about 1/4 left. A lot of broken items throughout the house. Elevator was sketchy and we couldn't get it to work. Lots of stairs as a result. It's definitely a cool unit - good location, great view, good parking and has a ton of potential. It served its purpose for our 1 night for 5 adult women but we arrived at 11pm. We all agreed if we arrived during the daylight for a clearer view of the condition of the rental we probably would have been a little more leery of staying.
Incomplete info provided regarding how to get the keys. Incorrect lockbox combo provided. It was corrected in a timely manner.Power went out on the morning we were leaving. The apartment is large and spacious with two big windows at one end. Unfortunately we had troubles collecting our things and some items were left behind. I am waiting to see what will be done about our forgotten items as that end of the flat is very dark without lights on.
DeAndre was great with communication. We had a tv issue when we got there and he came over to fix it that night. It wasn’t syncing… This place is within 5-10 minutes of everything. Great location for the price.
Overall our stay was okay. The main issue was that the unit was not clean. There were crumbs all over the floors and the counters and mirrors had not been wiped down. There were dirty dishes in the sink. There was also only one towel and no hand soap, and the host was able to drop off those items which we appreciated. The host was communicative and helpful, but we wish the space had been cleaner.
My wife and I travel for work, a lot. We travel with our dog and this looked like a reasonable downtown option. Unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations, and what was advertised.**Sanitation & Hygiene**The unit was not properly cleaned prior to our arrival. We found dirty counters, sticky dishes in the cupboards, and leftover food in the refrigerator. Basic essentials like toilet paper and dish towels were entirely missing.**Maintenance & Condition**The property is in a state of neglect. There are visible holes in the walls and doors, a cracked mirror, and a broken garbage disposal. Functional utility was non-existent; none of the lamps worked, bulbs were missing, and the kitchen outlet for the toaster was dead.**Atmosphere**The apartment had a strong odor of cigarette smoke, and the front office environment was unprofessional. The property bore no resemblance to the professional images displayed on the listing. This was a significant material misrepresentation of the accommodations. The owner was very clear about "no parties" - really emphatic. I'm guessing he had a lovely unit that was trashed by a previous guest, which is a real shame. It's a cool spot and will be great once these deficiencies are remedied.
