Ideal location for a wonderful vacation experience, a family reunion, or a getaway for any one of the many reasons we have for celebrating life.
An oasis for the weary traveler, this 2 story villa offers the comforts of a home, with the excitement of a tropical vacation, affording the perfect combination: the luxury of privacy and plenty of space for family interaction.
Of modern construction, the villa pays homage to history and the past, with its monumental 20 foot high double doorway, modeled after the Baptistery in Florence, Italy, and the tombs of the pharaohs, and featuring 14 bronze plaques depicting the histories of the island of Hispaniola, the town La Romana (where Casa de Campo is located)and the owning family. In this instance, the lions that guard over the Egyptian tombs were substituted for horses, testament to the owner´s love for the equine. The door itself weighs over 2 tons, and was artistically hand wrought of cast iron and brass by renowned local artist Jose Ignacio Morales, 'El Artistico', responsible for the wrought iron works in the artists´ village of Altos de Chavón, within the grounds of Casa de Campo.
The first floor is ideal for family time and for socializing with friends, with two ample and integrated seating arrangements, a family alcove with television and entertaining system, a casual dining and bar area for six, and a high ceiling which promotes a feeling of expansion and spaciousness and a view of the second floor mezzanine. The furnishings are in shades of whites and neutral tones, enhancing the rich woods and contrasting with the decorative accents and the gleaming terracotta tile flooring, reminiscent of traditional Caribbean homes. Glass walls lead out into the pool and back yard gardens, and a first-hand view of Hole No. 2 of the Links course, designed by famous golf architect Pete Dye.
The formal dining room features an oversized round table that comfortably accommodates 12 in high-back cushioned chairs, with a large Lazy Susan in the center to facilitate meal service and an overhead chandelier for added charm. The adjacent kitchen is modern, with a work island, ample cabinet space, and all the equipment you need to enjoy cooking for the family. The on-site maid can assist with breakfast and light meals in the villa, or you can hire a chef to concoct your desired menus. A half bath is conveniently located nearby to the common areas.
Caribbean life is all about the outdoors and in the center of the ample backyard terrace is a large rectangular pool for swimming laps or for a refreshing dip while sun-bathing. At one end of the pool on a submerged bench there is a whirlpool jet which offers a gentle massage. To the side, a gazebo with built-in seating, a ceiling fan and table for snacks and drinks offers intercom connection with the house staff for any additional assistance required while relaxing in the pool area. A variety of fruit trees, including mangos, avocados, chestnuts and others, make this garden area a special haven to relax and enjoy the tropical breeze. A sleepy hammock under a gourd tree offers the opportunity to read, sleep and catch a few sun rays, and a nearby corner with benches and a table under the fruit trees is a great place to admire the views.
The bedrooms are ample, well appointed and offer a relaxing environment to assure the desired rest after a day of activity in the wonderful resort of Casa de Campo. One guestroom is on the main level; the master bedroom takes up one side of the upstairs while two guestrooms are located on the other side. The decor in each bedroom consists of soft creamy walls, with cottage style oak furniture, highlighted by touches of wood and rattan. The linens are light colored Spanish Matelasse, with a different color scheme in each room and sheer white curtains soften the shades that block out the Caribbean morning sun, so you can sleep till you are fully rested. Each bedroom has generous closet space, air conditioning, and thoughtfully placed lighting. The bathrooms offer tub/shower with glass curtains, mahogany vanities, and modern sinks with stylish fixtures. In the master suite, there are two separate walk-in closets and extra luxuries in the bath include his and her sinks and a whirlpool tub with separate shower. All rooms on the second floor have LCD flat screen televisions in the bedrooms.
In the central mezzanine of the second floor is a bonus family room, seating arrangements, and tables for playing cards or board games. This is a great gathering spot or to keep the kids entertained.
The entire villa including the pool area has internet which is available free of charge as a welcome amenity to its visitors.
The villa is ideal for celebratory occasions, with its ample gardens and seating areas, and for enjoying time with your family and friends. Come and join us for a wonderful Caribbean vacation!
