Welcome to the Tally Ho Suite! This is a very charming private one bedroom (queen bed), one bath, guest apartment on our beautiful horse farm in Southern Pines, NC.
Located just 3 miles from the delightfully charming downtown of Southern Pines, and just miles from the golf mecca of Pinehurst.

The suite is appointed with coffee & tea, microwave, small fridge, oven/stove, sink and utensils for cooking at home. Smart TV and central air.

Starting January 1, Tanglewood Farm will be transitioning from a traditional Bed & Breakfast to a short-term vacation rental.

Guests can now enjoy private one-bedroom apartments — each with its own charm — and the freedom to relax, cook, and explore at their own pace.

While our signature hot breakfasts will no longer be included or delivered to rooms, guests can still add fresh pastries, quiches, and other local treats to their stay during booking.

We’re so grateful to everyone who has shared mornings and memories with us over the years. This new chapter brings a more flexible, self-guided experience — the same peaceful Tanglewood, just with a new way to stay.

Nestled in the beautiful Sandhills Region of North Carolina, Tanglewood Farm is a working equestrian farm and Vacation Rental. The horse facility was once used as a US Olympic training facility, and is now primarily used as an eventing competition training farm. If you stay at Tanglewood Farm, you will most likely get the chance to witness some exciting jump training, as our farm is located next to many training facilities, including some owned by Olympic riders and trainers.

Tanglewood Farm offers guests peaceful accommodations, breathtaking views of Southern Pines Horse Country and a quiet respite from everyday life.

Take a stroll along the farm and observe the horses, chickens and other wildlife in their everyday routines, or relax with a glass of wine and a good book on a patio right outside your door. Spend the day enjoying the highlights of the Sandhills area, including Seagrove Pottery, Weymouth Center, the Pinehurst Harness Track. Shop for art and beautiful clothes in downtown Southern Pines and Pinehurst, go antiquing in Cameron, golfing at one of the hundreds of golf courses, or hiking at Weymouth Woods. End your night with a delicious meal at one of our many fine restaurants. Whatever the season, a myriad of activities await you in Southern Pines --North Carolina's best keep getaway secret!

During your stay, enjoy fine dining at one of Moore County's gourmet restaurants in Southern Pines, Aberdeen and Pinehurst. The farm is just a three minute drive to the amazing restaurants of downtown Southern Pines. Try Red's Corner Food Truck Park, Ashten's, Chef Warren's or 195 for some amazing locally grown goodness! Grab a local brew at The Bell Tree Tavern or The Sly Fox, and top off your night with some live music at The Jefferson Inn. When you are ready to retire, curl up with a good book or DVD from your en-suite library and drift away to dreamland!

Dogs are allowed but must be pre-approved. $50 pet fee per dog per stay (2 dog max). Dogs must remain on leash on the premises and cannot be left unattended.

Children are welcome but must be closely attended by guardian at all times. Horses are unpredictable animals and we take everyone's safety very seriously. We ask that they do not run around the horses or barns, as horses tend to spook easily and can injure themselves and others. The kiddos love feeding the chickens and watching them roam free around the farm but please do not feed the horses!

Bringing your horse? We rent out stalls for $40/night, includes 2 bags of shavings. We require proof of negative Coggins.

Cozy Place to Stay

This is our second visit to the area and our second stay at Tanglewood Farm, but in a different unit — both very nice.My title says it. This is a lovely and cozy place to stay with all the amenities one would need. The setting is bucolic with chickens that greet you. A big plus for us was that our dogs were allowed to come along. Should we travel to the area again, the farm will be our first choice for a place to stay.

The Tally Ho suite was exactly as described. Nice attention to details with a farmhouse chic vibe. Chickens are friendly and will walk right in if you let them. Relaxing in my suite was the highlight of a long day of walking and shopping.Breakfast was fresh and tasty.

Serene and lovely convenient location in Southern Pines. Took my dog and we strolled around the grounds observing all the horse,chickens and squirrels. She loved it I loved it. Lindsey is a 5star baker and her breakfasts are delicious and very creative. I couldn’t help but relax and recharge. I needed the time too, I was playing golf 3 days in a row. Location was perfect for anything around Pinehurst and Sanford.

Delightful

Traveling a long distance can be tiring and stressful, especially during a pandemic. We booked a suite at the Tanglewood Farm B&B to break up the drive ‘to and from’ Georgia and Virginia. The VRBO photos and description of Tanglewood Farm look good but do not convey the delightful feel of the place. The Tanglewood Farm B&B is serene, cozy, extremely clean and comfortable. It is a peaceful, scenic and unique place that made what was meant to be just a pit stop feel like a vacation. We didn’t want to leave and we hope to stay longer than just one night next time we book a stay there.

We stayed at this property as an overnight break on the way to the beach. We were welcomed by the owner(s) quickly and shown our accomodations. The two room apartment was cute and well decorated though poorly renovated. It was clean and well appointed with dishes, towels, etc. No working cable/satellite almost drove my husband batty but oh well.... The property was pet-friendly and was nestled in the back of a charming horse farm. We were able to walk the dogs around the horse enclosures and it was a beautiful and relaxing setting. The continental breakfast on Saturday morning was top notch and well done. The apartment was a bit too small for us for any extended time but was perfect for an overnighter. Overall very nice experience and great atmosphere.

My mom and I bought Tanglewood Farm in December of 2012. I had been living in Florida working as a CPA and my mom was splitting her time between Florida and Wisconsin. We had been looking for horse farms for several years but hadn't yet found the perfect place for us. Then we found Tanglewood Farm in Southern Pines, NC and knew it was the one! I had always dreamed of leaving the corporate world and starting my own business and this farm was the perfect opportunity to do just that. With several apartment units on the property, it became clear early on that this would be the most peaceful and perfect location for a bed & breakfast. Hence, Tanglewood Farm B&B was born!

As one of our long term residents described, Tanglewood Farm is a place of healing and tranquility. Nestled just two miles away from downtown Southern Pines, Tanglewood Farm is such a restful and rejuvinating place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the everyday demands of life. It's hard not to slow down and relax when you settle in on the farm...Sit outside and listen to the birds, read a book, lay around on our chaise lounge chairs that overlook horse pastures, and you will start to feel yourself unwind in no time!

What makes this property unique

We have about 12 horses on our farm at all times! It's so fun to walk around the property and see all the horsey activity.
And our free range chickens are the most popular part of our farm! They are our official greeting committee and guests love feeding them blueberries and having them follow people around the farm!
