About this property

Carlyle lake home!

Relax with the whole family at this quite, peaceful place to stay. Plenty of free parking. A short drive to Carlyle Lake, Illinois largest man made lake, hosting a beautiful beach, fishing, duck hunting, hiking, sailing, water sports, winter sports and eagle watching. We're minutes to the arch in St Louis, Mo. Walking distance to our local restaurants, shopping and a fine coffee shop with homemade pastries! Upstairs has a tv, a sitting room with a recliner, card table, and a small refrigerator We are within 5 minutes from the lake with shared beach access. We have enough parking for you and your boat! There's parking in the front and in the back, down the alley! We have two bedrooms, a futon and a queen air mattress. The queen bed is up the stairs which are right off of the kitchen. Please feel free to call or text me or my co-host if you need anything! Upstairs is a card table & cards and a TV. Downstairs is a table with puzzles and games and a large screen TV for your entertainment. The dining room is also our wine room. Enjoy

It was a pleasant place, handy to everything and certainly had everything needed. The king bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. I do recommend that just once price be indicated instead of all the extra charges on top of the basic price of the place.

The description of this house was a bit misleading. This is an old house, which we knew, but it is in need of some updates. The steps upstairs are narrow, steep, and really dark. There are small sensor lights on the steps, but they aren't efficient. The master bath has an old walk-in tub/shower. It's not easy to get in and out of the door because it's so small. Plus, the master bath smells slightly of sewer gas and needs to be painted. There weren't any instructions on how to work the TVs. Even though the washer looks brand new, the hostess sent me a message that it was broken the day before we arrived. She didn't expect the part to arrive until after we checked out. I will say the beds were comfortable, but the overall experience was disappointing.

Sorry about the inconvenience of the washer not working! These things happen. The walk in tub is an upgrade and not old.
