Overview

About the property

Open Plan Living With 1 Bedroom / 1 Bath Cabin (sleeps 4)

This fantastic cabin is located on Faubush Creek on Lake Cumberland (just across the lake from Conley Bottom Marina and very close to Wolf Creek Marina) in the Clearwater Subdivision. It features an open plan living space with one bedroom, pull out sofa bed and a very large open air deck around ¾ of the house. We’re in a very peaceful neighborhood and only a 25 minute drive to Somerset with all city amenities.

Our home features one bedroom (full size bed) and a sofa sleeper (also full size), one large full bathroom with bathtub/shower.

This house is situated in a secluded beautiful wooded surrounding with lake views year round although they are better in the Fall / Winter.

Our home is within walking distance of the boat ramp and has a large turnaround driveway (and private road) available for boat/jet ski and multiple car parking. It is very easy to park your boat in our driveway or on the private road and move it back and forth to the boat ramp. The steep decline of our neighborhood ramp would require a 4x4.

About Toni Dillon

Purchasing this cabin was a family affair! We are two brothers (from England), Jon and Mark and wives, Toni and Lee, and we have been vacationing at Lake Cumberland for years (one of us since childhood) and it's just one of those places you feel like you want to put in roots and stay forever. Jon and Toni already own another cabin in the same neighborhood and when this property became available it was agreed that this was the perfect opportunity for the four of us to purchase it together.

Toni Dillon purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Toni Dillon chose Nancy

The property sits in a secluded spot surrounded by the most gorgeous trees. The deck surrounding the house is huge and probably has more square footage than the house itself! It's the perfect place to come back to after a day on the lake and it takes just seconds to unwind and relax.

What makes this cabin unique

It's a secluded spot so you have all the privacy in the world and although it's a one bedroom cabin the open plan living space makes it feel quite spacious and comfortable.

Sweet Little Cabin in the Woods

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was a perfect stay for us. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We were celebrating a birthday so I made us dinner and even a birthday cake in the kitchen! We sat on the deck in the morning to enjoy the beautiful view while drinking coffee. You could see one tiny peek of the water through the trees. It was about 10 minutes from Nancy which was a very cute little town, very small but that's my kind of town. Make sure you go to Pulaski Park not far and Haney's Appledale Farms if it is open. Since we were there in the fall apples were in full bloom along with all the other yummy goodies. The State Dock was a 1 hour drive from the cabin. We did a stripe fishing guide tour so we drove there to meet Captain Dan. D.C. Guide Service was his name and he was fantastic!!! He was so nice, we caught our limit and he made the day just perfect.. We would stay here again for sure!!

Cabin is nice on inside but needs golf cart for boat ramp

  • 3 of 5

I enjoyed the cabin but had it not been for a friend telling me about the put in area for the boat on Potter Shop road, trip would have been much different. Also, found it best to turn on 2nd left on Jasper then right onto white Oak. Couldn't make left turn on white oak from Jasper with boat behind. I don't recommend any boat over 18 feet in length even with the turn around going to the property, just too tight. Recommend a golf cart for guests trying to get to and from boat ramp on hill. Other than that it was a great stay and we had fun! Ty fir the stay!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the feedback and we are very happy to hear glad you enjoyed your stay! We’re sorry that you found it difficult to use our neighbourhood boat ramp but pleased you were able to find an alternative also very close to the cabin. Although we do make it as clear as possible in our property description on the VRBO website that some people could find the boat ramp quite steep, I can assure you that it is continuously used by locals and guests, even those with larger / longer boats than you mention. We are glad it didn’t affect your enjoyment and good that you had a local friend to guide you to an alternative ramp. We don’t feel that providing a golf cart to our guests to get back and forth from the ramp is necessary since although parking your boat trailer at the ramp is not allowed, driving your car back and parking it at the ramp is certainly allowed in the designated area. We are assuming you didn’t realize this or notice other cars parked there. It's a shame the ramp situation resulted in us receiving a 3 star rating. Thanks again for staying with us and we hope to see you again!

Welcome to beautiful Lake Cumberland, Kentucky - the vacation destination for millions of boaters, fishermen, and lake-lovers each year. We can introduce you to all Lake Cumberland has to offer whether it be romance and excitement, peace and tranquility, a family get-away, or just plain fun!

Lake Cumberland boasts many marinas providing boat rentals from fishing boats to state of the art houseboats; lake side restaurants, golf courses, nature trails, water falls and much more!

Guests to Lake Cumberland can take a scenic horseback ride, feed the trout at the Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery, or catch a play or musical production at the historic Star Theater.

Golfers can enjoy playing on our beautiful courses. The Lake Cumberland Golf Club at Lily Creek Resort and Lakewood Country Club are 18-hole championship courses with driving ranges and practice greens.

Enjoy fishing and ready to catch the big one? Lake Cumberland offers trophy-size stripers and hold the state records for brown and rainbow trout and walleye. For fly fishermen, the Cumberland River below Wolf Creek Dam offers some of the best trout fishing anywhere.

Take your time and browse through our many antique, craft, and specialty shops in downtown Russell Springs and Jamestown. You are guaranteed to find the perfect treasure.

Whether you are looking for a weekend get-away, week-long vacation, a Fall foliage tour, houseboat vacation, or racing across the lake, Lake Cumberland is the place to visit.

This area of Lake Cumberland is visited frequently by boaters and fisherman in the summer months, but I would also highly recommend it in the fall. The crowds thin out when the temperatures cool off, the lake is quiet and tranquil and it’s a time of year when the leaves turn brilliant shades of crimson, orange and yellow. The fall colors here are brilliant and the clear nights put on a star show like no other.
