BEACHSIDEBUNGALOW. Our home right on the beach, completely remodeled in 2017
After IRMA, we expect the island to be back up and running by December 1st. UPDATE: everything is back up and open! TCI government was amazing in getting the islands back on. Many islands in the caribbean are still floundering and not open for business at all. St Thomas and Puerto Rico are still a disaster as are many others. Come see us!
There is still one place in the world where you can stroll down a deserted beach hand-in-hand with your loved one, and be the only souls on the sand. -BeachsideBungalow- There is still one tiny, Caribbean destination where you can turn off the world, relax completely, and recharge totally. There is still one island paradise that has escaped the tourist crowds – a place reminiscent of Hemingway’s utterly romantic and delightfully charming Caribbean. This is an oceanfront paradise of long-standing traditions, where fishermen hawk the day’s catches on the beach and fresh lobster and conch always have a place on the table. This is a place of unspoiled, natural beauty – aquamarine surf and fine sands that stretch as far as the eye can see. This is a romantic throwback to old-fashioned island glamour, where open-air cafés line the streets and white gingerbread porches frame pastel-painted clapboard.Welcome to the Caribbean of 40 years ago – a secluded and sleepy island rimmed by golden sands and turquoise sea. Welcome to powdery dunes and narrow, cobblestone streets that once witnessed the footfalls of Taíno Indians and Spanish conquistadors. Welcome to cobalt skies that bleed nightly into hues of fiery orange, summer-ripe cherry, and dusky rose – and the occasional (but always magical) green flash of a Caribbean sunset.
The place is Grand Turk. The destination is Pillory Beach. And the oceanfront paradise is BeachsideBungalow. Grand Turk is the Caribbean that few tourists will ever see – a place of few distractions and even fewer crowds. It is spectacularly beautiful. It is wonderfully secluded. It is completely paradise.
And it is yours to explore.
Welcome to BeachsideBungalow, an oceanfront duplex and your Grand Turk rental home, set on a semi-private beach bordering the exotic Caribbean Sea. Take your choice of Sea Gull, our larger home which sleeps 6, or Sandpiper, the duplex’s smaller side which sleeps 4. Both offer two bedrooms, two bathrooms and airy, sun-drenched beach-casual décor – which breezy getaway best suits your needs? Whichever you choose, one thing is for sure: you’ll soon be sipping your morning coffee with your toes bathed in gin clear waters…
No high rises or big developments, just you and your loved one on the beach.
Our home is directly on the prettiest beach on the whole island (Pillory Beach), and the beaches of the Turks & Caicos Islands are consistently ranked best in the WORLD year after year.
In addition to that, Grand Turk is also ranked in the top 10 SCUBA dive sites in the world year after year.
The Turks BeachsideBungalow was extensively remodeled and a huge rear porch added in 2013, now after Hurricane Irma in 2017 we have gone back through and added AIR CONDITIONING to the whole house, new fridges, new shower tile and fixtures, new king beds and mattresses, a new sofa bed to sleep 6 on the larger side, new decor, and new paint everywhere . Free WiFi.
2 Bedrooms, each with their own private bath. (2 Bed, 2 Bath) Master has very luxurious KING bed and front bedroom has 2 Twins that can be converted into a King also. Brand new pull-out couch in the larger side makes for sleeping 6.
Our house also has the good fortune of being located less than 100 yards from the grocery store with the largest selection on the island and 300 yards in the opposite direction, the nicest restaurant on the whole island at Bohio resort. Bohio is also where you can rent a Hobie Cat, paddleboards, kayaks, and extra bicycles. They also have snorkel trips, scuba trips, and whale watching excursions. All of it just a short walk down the beach just north of our bungalow. At night we will get dressed, walk down the beach to Bohio, take sunset pictures, have a fantastic chef prepared meal, and then walk back to our quiet little BeachsideBungalow under the stars.
4 more island favorite restaurants are towards downtown, a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute bike ride away. Plenty of restaurant and bar options on the island.
Two bikes per Bungalow side are now available for free to cruise the island.
Grand Turk is a special quiet little island which has yet to be discovered by the developers and tourists. We can sit on the beach for hours and sometimes days (non cruise ship days) without seeing a single person. Very Special!
However, on cruise ship days there will be a bit more activity on the island and near our beach. The cruisers are usually on the island for about 5 to 6 hours during the day, so their impact is pretty limited. A late boat will pack up before 5, so our sunsets are always secluded and private!
Year round temperatures of 75 to 85 make for an Ideal winter or summer getaway. We snorkel in December!
Getting here is fairly easy, but does require an extra flight to get over to Grand Turk. We usually fly American Airlines to Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, (airport code PLS) and then either Inter Caribbean Air or Caicos Express Airlines to Grand Turk. (about $70 round trip for the puddle jumper). Look these up to purchase separately from your main flight from the US. Getting here instructions and hot-links to airlines can be found on our main website Beachsidebungalow-dot-com - along with many more pictures and things to do info.
You can Goog... search my name Drew Renshaw, I have a Goog... plus page for myself and our beachsidebungalow. We also are shown on Goog... maps if you zoom in on Grand Turk.
I have also been on face.... since 2007 Drew Renshaw, Memphis, TN - our beachsidebungalow has a face.... page as well, beachsidebungalow to find it. Our main website can be found by searching the words beachsidebungalow and turks.
Due to all of the fraudulent listings on the booking sites we are now recommending that before you inquire or book here you should independently verify the rental by internet searching for the house name and area to find the owner's website and verify it's existence. (Beachside Bungalow in the Turks Islands for us) Scammers have been throwing up fake listings on VRBO a lot recently since VRBO has stopped requiring proof of property ownership like they used to - But no scammer is going to take the time to also set up a custom website and Facebook page for a fake rental. About Drew Renshaw
My wife and I fell in love with quiet Grand Turk 8 years ago for a 40th birthday surprise trip and just had to find a way to have a place here. Our Turks BeachsideBungalow. Blessings, Drew and Joanie Renshaw
Drew Renshaw purchased this Bungalow in 2013
Why Drew Renshaw chose Cockburn Town
Our duplex house is situated on the west side of the island right on the beach for beautiful sunsets each night. Rates listed are for the smaller unit, If your party is larger and needs more space you can add my larger unit for $340 per night depending on season. ($30 more per night than my smaller unit) Both units have 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, den, and kitchen. Both units have a large back porch on the rear facing the beach, a perfect spot to watch the sunset each night. Larger side sleeps 6 with a new pull-out couch.
What makes this Bungalow unique
Grand Turk is the most wonderful quiet little island. It's the Caribbean of 40 years ago; authentic, unspoiled, naturally beautiful with no high rises or throngs of tourists everywhere all day and night. Our Turks BeachsideBungalow is the perfect place to get away from it all and reconnect with your spouse! Our days are usually spent waking up late, strolling the beach hand in hand, laying out soaking up the sun, cooking a dinner on the grille, and lots of conversation which gets lost in the bustle of life. After spending a few days alone together we may be ready for a little action, which is when we may go down to the Cruise Center and people watch. The cruise ship center is a self contained tourist mecca where cruise ships check in for the day and their guests have a big time in the huge pool with swim-up bar, a Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, a surfing machine for learning to surf, and tons of shopping. There is a DJ every day having games and contests with the pool crowd - always a fun time is had here. We can go right in and join the fun free of charge and then when we tire of it, come back home to our little bungalow.

We had a great stay at Drew’s place - it was the perfect location for a relaxed week in paradise. We will definetely be coming back soon!
My husband and I stayed at the Beachside Bungalow on our Honeymoon. This place was wonderful! The beach, the house, the town...WOW!! Everyone is so nice on Grand Turk. We were lucky enough to meet the owners, Drew and Joanie, during our stay. Great people! Went snorkeling at the Wall and it was amazing. The water is so clear you feel like your in a pool, not the ocean! The house was a perfect size for us two. Very clean and well-maintained. The breezes when you have the front and back door open are absolutely wonderful...no AC required!! Most of the time we had the whole beach to ourselves which is exactly what I was looking for...couldn't have picked a better place. We had a such a good time on our honeymoon!! I would recommend to anyone!
Nicest and cleanest vacation rental on the island!
We had a great stay at Drew's Beachsidebungalow. At first wondered if it would be too quiet but by the end of the week we were completely chilled which is just what we were looking for. The bungalow is super very spacious and well nicely furnished. Loved reading in the hammock and tumbling out on to the beach, so close! We rode the bikes provided everywhere and enjoyed the exercise up to the lighthouse and down to the cruise centre. Bohio is a great resort to chill at and had some great meals the creamy lobster and key lime at Grand Turk Inn where fantastic. Loved the Sandbar as a great local beach bar. Drew has a fantastic website with tons more info also. If you want and anti-resort destination then this is the place!!
Thanks so much for your awesome review. It really means a lot to us to have so many happy customers.
Worth The Money
My family stayed a week in December 2015 and had a blast. The bungalow is steps from the Pillory Beach. The beach was beautiful and the texture of the sand was incredible. The color of the water was also unbelievable--many variations of blue and green. The bungalow was nicely appointed and if you choose to eat a few meals in, there are nice utensils and pots and pans to accommodate. Restaurants are walking distance or there are bikes to ease the travel. There is a washer and dryer on site so don't overpack. Steps off the beach there's an incredible coral reef teeming with plants, fish and other animal life that are astounding. Only beef was Wifi was spotty but I think it's an island thing and nothing unique to the bungalow.
The perfect secluded getaway. We totally enjoyed the quiet, relaxing and beautiful white sandy beach. If you are looking to kick back and enjoy the beach, this is the place to be. For some entertainment we went to Margarittaville when the cruise ships were in port. First time we rode bicycles, OMG it was a far, exhausting ride. However, GOOD exercise which was needed! The next trip to Margaritaville was by GOLF cart. Lots of fun and visited Governer's beach - what could we say, AWESOME. We purchased food to cook at the bungalow and enjoyed a dinner at Bohio. The water is gorgeous and since we are much the beachgoer, the bungalow was a perfect place to be. The town of Grand Turk is not a big resort style atmosphere but a small island with its own charm. I believe the only thing we could say to improve our stay would be that the beach, since close to a cruise ship destination stop, there was a lot of broken glass bottles and wandering cruise people roaming around. We love the donkeys, they did open the front gate (pretty funny); and the homeless dogs are well behaved (we are animal lovers)..... Thanks Drew for letting us spend our pre-Xmas vacation at your place. Miri, Jennifer and Brenda
Lovely villa in a beautiful setting
My daughter and I shared the smaller property during a week's dive trip. The villa was lovely, cooled by fresh sea breezes during the day and a/c during sleeping. The villa has a distinct charm and a stupendous view of sunset from the back deck. Each night was spectacular.
