About this property

Modern Design Close to the City, Far from Reality

Comfortable and stylish, we've designed this home to be the ultimate escape.

Originally built in 1803, the classic stone barn was transformed in the 1960s by renowned designer Ward Bennet, whose work can be found in MoMA.

With its private outdoor spaces and inspiring interiors, come enjoy this secluded spot for a relaxing time away or a creative retreat.

Tucked away on a quiet road, surrounded by trees and bamboo, the house offers a private country retreat without straying far from the comforts of town.

When you enter the main floor, you’ll be immediately struck by the tall, stylized windows that became a Ward Bennet signature.

The comfortably appointed great room is set up for lounging with a view. Lofted cozily above the great room are the library and bedroom, creating a functional but beautiful open plan space. Also on the main floor is a funky, colorful dining room, Japanese soaking tub, picturesque balcony and the main bathroom.

Downstairs, you’ll find a well outfitted kitchen with bar top seating and another comfortable living room with a wood stove and full entertainment setup.

Just 5 minutes outside of the charming town of Riegelsville and 15 minutes from the city of Easton, you’ll have quick access to bars, restaurants and entertainment. And with the Delaware river so close, you can easily enjoy a day of tubing, jet skiing, or kayaking.

Or just stay hidden away on the property with plenty to keep you occupied, including a secluded pool, hot tub, Japanese-inspired garden, greenhouse lounge, fire pit, and many outdoor seating areas tucked away in the lush greenery.

The landscaped grounds beg for exploration, featuring rare specimen plantings that'll keep you and your Seek app busy. Plus, the Mariton Wildlife Sanctuary is a short walk down the street and offers several trails for exploration and hiking.

This is a stunning setting for a relaxing weekend for two, a solo creative retreat, an intimate event with friends, or, for our fellow bookish types, a reading marathon in one nook after another.

We had a wonderful stay at this unique and beautiful home. The woodstove kept us toasty in the cold weather and the house was stocked with anything you could imagine needing and then some. We loved the Japanese bath and the gorgeous greenhouse and outdoor spaces. We hope to be back in the summer and will absolutely be recommending the listing to friends and family in the area. :)

This home made for a very dreamy winter getaway. The host had everything decorated for Christmas which was adorable and everything we needed was provided. The hot tub ended up not working for our stay which was a disappointment but the host did provide a slight refund and was responsive when informed. Also bring your own washcloths (I couldn’t find any)

What can I say except WOW! This place was truly a slice of paradise. The home itself is a mixture of classic old stone barn and modern amenities. The bedroom loft feels like a private recluse with a nice large overhead fan. The hot tub nestled amongst the intricate garden. The cozy warm indoor fire place. The quaint kitchen with stone walls, the cutest little oven, all your cooking essentials as well as others we found enjoyable to use for the first time. The only thing I would mention is that the stairs going up to the loft and down the basement were quite steep, so watch your step. Additionally, as it is a renovated stone house you will not find many electrical outlets but we found the ones available to suit us just fine. Neither intruded on our enjoyment of the property. We would 100 percent stay again. The hostess made us feel so welcomed. They leave you a personal typed message describing how each room can best be enjoyed. It was so nice to just ask Siri to turn off the bedroom lights! Thank you for a lovely time. We hope to be back soon.
