7 Front Street es una cabaña de piedra tradicional Weardale, una de una pequeña fila de casas en la aldea de Daddry Shield, cerca de Stanhope en Durham Dales. La cabaña duerme cómodamente 4 y ofrece tranquilas vacaciones rurales para parejas y familias pequeñas. La cabaña es para mascotas y para niños y es cálido y acogedor con una sala de estar con chimenea y una cocina con comedor en la planta baja y un baño familiar con dos dormitorios en el primer piso: un dormitorio principal con cama doble y un segundo dormitorio con dos camas individuales. Los huéspedes tienen acceso a todas las partes de la casa que se les anima a disfrutar como un hogar lejos del hogar durante toda su estancia. El propietario está disponible por correo electrónico y teléfono móvil, aunque está disponible en persona solo los fines de semana. Se proporciona un paquete de bienvenida para los huéspedes. We had really good time. Cottage is nice and well equipped . You will find everything that you'll need. We had a visitor (horse) from the back garden each morning.Beautiful scenery and walks around. We recommend a visit to Bowlees infocentrum.

Lovely little cottage

It has already been our second stay at this cozy cottage. The cottage had everything that we needed. It just feels like coming home after a day of exploring the North Pennines. The host Sarah is very helpful and kindly left milk, a bottle of wine and some cookies for us. We'd definitely like to come back some day!

Very cozy cottage

We loved this cozy cottage very much. Everything you need was provided. We had wine, milk and eggs in the fridge at arrival. There are some nice boardgames. The kitchen ist well equipped and we loved the horse which picks up his carrot every day from the window in the kitchen. The beds are very comfortable. The location within the North Pennines is super for excursion. The landscape is absolutely outstanding. The neighbours are very friendly. We would like to come back once again.

Welcoming traditional cottage in great location

Lovely stone built Weardale cottage surrounded by wonderful countryside. Everything you need, cozy and comfortable with an open coal fire. Had everything we needed, even had a daily visit from the horse in the field behind the cottage. No garden at the property not too big an issue for ours but may be for some dogs. Short walk either by pavement or the riverside to thr next villages where shops, pubs and cafes are found. Had a fantastic week, really relaxing. Some basic provisions in the cottage ( tea, coffee, sugar, condiments) and a bottle of wine left by the owner, which was greatly appreciated. Great value accommodation in a brill location.

Wonderful !!

Absolutely loved this property. It was clean, cosy and welcoming. Its situated in a beautiful area, with walks from the door, and breathtaking views from every window. We felt totally at home as soon as we stepped through the door, the cottage is equipped with some very nice touches, including beautiful bed linen and fluffy towels. Even a dog towel provided by the front door. We had a 3 night weekend break, but felt we had stayed much longer. We didnt want to leave ! We had a meal and a few drinks at the local, which was nice and welcoming, and around a 10 minute walk away. And also the walk down by the river was a nice peaceful one. We absolutely loved the visits from the horses in the adjoining field too. We would love to return.

Konden de wc niet door spoelen, het aanrecht blad plakte, koelkast stinkt, en lastige verwarming. Weinig ruimte en geen buitenruimte. Beheerder reageert nergens op. Geen aanrader : niet doen deze.

Lovely little cottage with walks and views from the front door.

We loved our holiday in Daddry Shield, Weardale. It is a beautiful area with fantastic walking and super countryside. Although only away for the week, we could have stayed much longer as there was so much to do in the area. The cottage had everything that we needed and felt homely and inviting at the end of a days walking. We visited Durham and walked on Hadrian's Wall, but the real highlights were those early morning and evening dog walks from the cottage along the River Wear. Relaxing and beautiful.

Daddry Shield

Remote location, but very useful food store just minute's away. We visited Durham and Roman Fort site Vindalanda both broadly 45 minute's drive, and both filled our day. Beautiful scenery everywhere you walk, bike, drive. Would happily book again, and horses at back window are sorely missed by our family.

WONDERFUL HOLIDAY

Excellent position

Insufficient information as regards emergency contact number- none at all . Very poor. Tv needs replacing as normal channels ie BBC 1,2,3 etc not available . Otherwise ok

The TV channels are all available through the Now TV box. This gives access to IPlayer, Channel 4, ITv etc and programmes can be live streamed or watched as catch ups. Sky and Netflix are also available through the Now box I am always contactable via the booking agency visitors have used.

Peace and comfort in a lovely area

Simple but comfortable with everything we needed. Spotlessly clean, and the wine was much appreciated. A really lovely area and excellent local facilities, great to have pubs within walking distance. And we enjoyed the morning visits from the horse and the goat.

Home Away from Home

The cottage was exactly as described with everything you needed to feel relaxed and at home straight away. Lots of extras provided such as provisions in the fridge plus wine! Lots of books, games and dvds and beautiful countryside on the doorstep to enjoy.

What a gem

We have just returned from a super short break and loved every minute. A bottle of wine on arrival was a super welcome and the cottage was more than we’d hoped. Lovely comfy beds, fully equipped and we felt at home as soon as we arrived. The horse in the back field came to say good morning ever day - and all in all a wonderful break. Dog walks are nearby, either up a track a very short distance from the cottage or along the river bank a bit further through the village.

Character Comfortable Accommodation

We have just returned from a fantastic break in the Pennines. The accommodation was all we could have wished for and we loved the period styling of the cottage. it contains all you need for a self catering stay. The fire lit at night on a snowy night was just so atmospheric and cozy. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here and it was an ideal location for exploring the very beautiful area with all the picturesque villages. The Hare and Hounds pub in the neighbouring village was outstanding for food. Would love to return to stay here again..

Cosy , comfortable and clean cottage with stunning views.

Loved everything about this cottage - and the owner was so thoughtful leaving wine, kindling and coal. It was also such good value (we replaced the coal and kindling used as only fair because of this!) The views out of both sides are wonderful as is the walking on the many adjacent footpaths. Beds lovely and comfortable too and went to sleep to the sound of a tawny owl - perfect!

Home from home

If you love stone built cottages with oldie worldie accessories and views to die for, then you'll love this place. Easily accessible, lovely comfortable furnishings and beds. Complete kitchen and some condiments and Netflix for the kids and adults. Good little co-op a short walk away and pubs to boot! If you want to go to the town shopping then that's not far. I found great places to visit and there is a wealth of information leaflets in the cottage. Thank you Sarah, I enjoyed my stay X

I am a charity worker and live much of the year in Sussex. I have close family in the Durham area and have always loved Northumbria and County Durham. Buying the cottage was a cherished dream and since I have owned 7 Front Street I have felt blessed to have the chance to escape so regularly to such an unspoilt and beautiful part of the world.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

7 Front Street was one of two properties that I viewed in Daddry Shield but I chose number 7 because of its glorious views from every window. I particularly enjoy the view from the kitchen window and find endless enjoyment in watching the hares, birds, horses and other wildlife that can be seen in the fields behind the house. Number 7 has a generous sized sitting room, master bedroom and bathroom and is a warm house, tucked into the middle of the row of houses.

The horse that comes to the kitchen window for carrots or apples. 7 Front Street has no back garden but this means the horse in the field behind the cottage has access to the window and is a regular visitor.
