About Dean and Michelle

We are a family of five who love the outdoors, sports, and recreation. Our Lake Havasu home has been so much fun for our family and friends to vacation in style yet feel like we really got away from it all.

Dean and Michelle purchased this house in 2012

Why Dean and Michelle chose Lake Havasu City

This property is the perfect home away from home. It is a newer house (built in 2006), with Santa Fe charm and attention to details throughout. We love getting away from our beach home living lifestyle to a home on a large lot which offers so many outdoor opportunities. It is quiet in Havasu Heights with a real community atmosphere. The stars, sunrises and sunsets are amazing with all the open land. It is a short distance to drop a boat into the water (about 10-15 miles to Topock or Windsor Beach) to boat on the river or the lake. When not boating, you can ride a motorcycle, ATV, or Razor right down the driveway to many popular trails.

We loved the location, the roominess, the quietness, and the access to the trails on the BLM.

We want to be able to rent again next year.

Weren't impressed with the mouse turds in the cupboards and the furniture though. Better housekeeping would be much appreciated. We did not see any mice while we were there, but the evidence they had been was there.

Enjoyed our stay.

Owner's Response: Dear Pamela, We are glad you enjoyed your stay and would like to return. You were great guests and we would love to have you back. We greatly apologize the cleanliness of the game cupboard and beneath loveseat cushions were not up to our standards. We do regularly check to make sure outdoor creatures don't get inside. We did so again following your visit - luckily, no evidence of any creatures. We also had a thorough cleaning in addition to the regular cleaning between houses. We emphasized the need for housekeeping to clean furniture and less frequently used cupboards between each visit. We take pride in providing a clean home for an enjoyable vacation experience. Sincerely, Michelle

Worst time in Arizona ever!

  • 1 of 5

Let me start off by saying house was dirty refrigerator doesn't keep food cold, radio doesn't work ceiling fans on patio doesn't work and missing all the blades.Bathrooms look like a hole in the wall bar bathrooms. Also beware that the owner doesn't ever visit home so they have idea of condition and will take Security deposit and do not repay it. We were fined for a piece of wood that had allegedly feel off bed and cigarette butts in yard and that the house smelled of smoke how I have no idea since nobody smoked in or around property. Renters beware the owner will steal you deposit. Also don't fall for the trick that renting outside of vrob website which was brought to our attention that we would save money. Again owner will lure you into not renting from website to save them fees for renting property and take security depost.

Owner's Response: We are writing a response to correct the record. Brandy, friends and family have vacationed in our home the past 3 years. Each time they sent a text and wrote in the book what a great vacation they had in our home. This time was no exception (see screenshot). See the positive reviews from these very same guests dated 4/3/14 & 2/17/15. Also, they chose to return a 3rd year. We visited our home the day after these guests checked out...we visit very regularly. These guests completely broke the entire bed frame (see photos). They did not notify us and tried to hide it. These guests broke very durable furniture and did not let us know, which was very different than the many guests who have notified us that something broke and we never charged them for the replacement. They provided 3 checks that bounced. They broke into our garage and multiple items were missing. We have provided a full refund to every guest until these guests who broke things, stole things, left the place a mess, and then got upset when we cashed the security deposit check she sent us. These guests did far more damage than the $500 security deposit. Brandy told us to keep the deposit (likely because she knows how much damage they did. In fact she apologized for all the cigarette butts left behind (which was in writing also) so I'm not sure how they now say they didn't smoke around the house. They broke nearly every term of our contract. The only accurate statement made was that the radio didn't work. We immediately offered to replace and the guests declined. We replaced it the day they checked out. We gain nothing and have no preference about how people use the VRBO website (the only person who saves money is our guests). In fact, it is much easier for us to accept payment through the website. We have enjoyed sharing our home with many guests over the years. We have always hosted enjoyable and kind travelers and until these guests, have always enjoyed positive reviews. image3.PNG image2.JPG

A nice quiet hideaway

  • 5 of 5

The house is beautiful and has plenty of room and sleeping areas. We enjoyed the patio and pool after a long day on the lake, and the kids enjoyed being able to take their dirt bikes for a nice ride right out of the driveway. Michelle was very quick to answer any questions we had, which we really appreciate. The house sits kind of by itself and it is very quiet and peaceful. If you are looking for a place that is kind of out in country, quiet, and has a lot of room, I would definitely recommend this house. If you are looking for an upscale place close to town then you would probably be better off looking elsewhere. Anyways, it worked out great for the 12 of us .

Great location with wonderful views.

  • 4 of 5

Our group of eight adults had a great stay in the Lake Havasu Heights house. The night sky was impressive with little light pollution. Sunrise and sunsets were spectacular along with the Moon which was around full during our stay. There were a few issues with the house which were resolved quickly and satisfactorily when Dean and Michelle were made aware of them. If you are looking for a quiet place in the Lake Havasu area, then this property should be considered.
