About Pam Falls No calls after 7p.m. please

I've always had fond memories of Millwood Lake. Summertime meant time to spend with my Grandparents who lived at Millwood Lake. My Grandfather was an avid fisherman and hunter and a great teacher. I also have a love for hunting and fishing!

Pam Falls No calls after 7p.m. please purchased this house in 2013

Why Pam Falls No calls after 7p.m. please chose Ashdown

After moving away from the Texarkana area to serve in the Air Force, I missed the whispering pines and the Cypress trees. In early 2000, I went to the Bullfrog Marina Restaurant, a floating building at Jack's Isle. I always admired the A frame house directly in front of the ramp. How excited I was to see that 'for sale' sign! I was told this was the first home built at Jack's Isle back in the early '70s. It has taken many hours to remodel and update this house. I hope you, too will enjoy the lake view! Take a walk down to the boat ramp and you usually can catch a glimpse of a gator or two. Sit back and enjoy the meditation area by the koi pond or watch the anxious fisherman hurrying to get that boat in the water in hopes of the 'big one'!

What makes this house unique

The living room is a tall vaulted ceiling with a loft bedroom over the downstairs bedrooms/bath and kitchen. A climate controlled sunroom overlooks the lake. The hot tub is secluded from public view.

A screened in porch on the side of the home can be used as a bug free coffee/smoking area. A large deck outside for entertaining and/or enjoying the lake view. To stay with the nature of this lovely lake, the home is decorated in a fishing/duck hunting theme.

Great House

  • 5 of 5

Perfect house for any fishing getaway. Lots of space, big kitchen area, very clean, has everything you would need. Plenty of room for 2 20' bass boats, place to plug in, and the front yard is literally the boat ramp. Owners are great to work with and i'd recommend staying here to anyone.

It's with great sadness that I have to give a bad rating to this property.

This was actually my second time to stay at this property, my first stay was without incident. I decided that I would rent the property again father's day weekend. My father lives within minutes from this rental hence the reason for my second visit. When I arrived I noticed the yard was unkept, the hot tub was not clean but was able to over this as to enjoy the weekend with my dad. It was on the third day that my husband felt a bug crawling on him, he was laying on the blue couch. He looked it up and it was a bed bug!! It was after this that I realized what I thought was mosquito bites was actually bed bugs!!! I had bites all the way up my left arm. In addition to the bed bugs the gas grill didn't work. I had to drive to a near by town and purchase charcoal then drive back, and try to cook dinner. I was never so thankful to leave a place in my life. I would consider myself well traveled, the owner of any rentals have always been so kind. I didn't find this the case with Pam for I truly believe she has never treated the problem!! She doesn't answer text, I was told to talk with the rental company which I have done 3 times. I was directed back to Pam. There are other smaller cabins in the area which I will rent on my next trip in.

Owner's Response: Please be advised there are NO bed bugs in this home, nor have there ever been since it has been open. This guest kept a house key and left the house in terrible condition. Sadly, this is the first time that most of the deposit was used for repairs, re-keying and cleaning. I had to block this guest on my personal phone and advised her to please communicate thru vrbo, which she has chosen not to do. Without going in to further details, please read the other reviews and that will tell you how we strive on making our guests happy.

Little Piece of Heaven!!!

  • 5 of 5

The House is awesome, plenty of room for 2 or for us and our 8 grand children that we would love to bring with us next time. If you like something comfortable, close to the lake with views right out the front windows than this is the place to visit. The fishing was wonderful caught plenty of Sand Bass, Black Bass and Catfish. All the items that you need for 2 nights or a week, if you need something though the city limits is not that far away. Every person we met on our week stay was very nice and helpful. From the regulars that came every day to see how far the lake was up, to anyone and everyone we met while shopping in town. Quiet community and friendly neighbors all around. Highly recommend this rental would definitely stay here again.

If you're just wanting to get away and slow down you won't find a better area or property!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lilly Pad on Millwood Lake! The property is perfect for a relaxing time away from it all and the A-frame makes you feel right at home. We really loved the fact that the owners allow pets and we were able to bring our "kids" along. They enjoyed the yard, decks, sun room and even the koi pond out back (our puppy Charlie loves water and thought it would make a good swimming hole until he realized how deep it was). I read a review about the hot tub not being "warmed up" for arrival so the first thing I did was turn the heat up on it. After a run into Ashdown for groceries, some fishing at the dock and getting dinner taken care of it was up to 95 and felt wonderful! By the next morning it was 102 and perfect for a short dip before hitting the lake again. The cabin had everything we needed and was a very enjoyable home away from home. Be aware that if you go during duck season you will hear shotguns starting at sunrise. We are up and going early so it didn't bother us. Fishing on Millwood is unbelievable. We fished the dock the first night and morning then dropped the kayaks in after that (yes there are gators...leave them alone and they'll do the same for you). We caught 50+ black bass, most over 2 lbs, and had a blast negotiating the stumps and little river. Even the dock fishing was good! The area is really quiet, beautiful and everyone we ran into was very friendly. Can't wait to come back again!!

Very quiet retreat.

  • 5 of 5

My wife went here for our 11 year wedding anniversary. It was everything we were looking for in this type of setting. The lake was nice, and the place was very quiet. In fact so quiet, we did not hear any human noises the whole weekend. Listening to the frogs and cicadas at night were awesome. The weather was just a bit on the hot side to go out for very long during the day time, but otherwise it was perfect for us. We will definitely return here again.

Millwood Lake is regarded as one of the best fishing lakes in the four states area. Also known for duck and deer hunting. This is NOT a lake for swimming, skiing or other water sport activities. Recently opened by the county a public fenced, fishing dock, partially covered. (Where the Bullfrog Marina was).

If also booking with Millwood Guide Services, you will receive a 10% discount with both house rental and guide service.
