Lovely house, lovely hosts, perfect location which was very rural, exactly what we hoped for. Lovely offer of a meal being prepared for us by the host as we were late arrivals. Small gestures such as the bottle of wine and freshly baked plum desert were lovely touches.touches.

We were received with a very warm welcome from Jean and Antoinette. They were warm and friendly whenever we needed advice but not intrusive. The gite was all that was stated and more, absolutely spotlessly clean and totally secure for our Standard Poodle. The covered patio area, the pool and the view were all superb. Jean’s tomatoes were wonderful! Thank you.

Fabulous pool, hot tub and outdoor chill out area. Be prepared to deal with the mozzies, but would definitely recommend coming here. Would love to return again.

We spent 2 weeks in this extremely well equipped, comfortable and welcoming cottage. Surrounded by fields with glorious views - we had a wonderfully peaceful time. Views from the terrace are superb. The swimming pool was great as the weather was very hot - there’s shade there too. Our hosts were wonderful and had anticipated everything in the cottage for us and more. This cottage is a really special place and for those seeking a tranquil holiday it is perfect. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding area - night markets, gardens, golf, wine tasting, walks by the canal and trips to lots of villages and towns. Very clean cottage - highly recommend.

Deciding to take a break from our van travel through France, we found this wonderful Gîte with exactly what we needed to recharge from our travels. Le Grand Chene is set in beautiful tranquil grounds, surrounded by vineyards and sunflower fields. Emmanuel and James were lovely, welcoming and shared their local knowledge which only enhanced our visit. They made us feel really welcome without being intrusive. We fell in love with the gorgeous peaceful setting, large grounds and wonderful walks, which the dogs loved! the surrounding roads are also very quiet and made for some very scenic cycles. The accommodation is very comfortable, spotless, and well appointed. The pool was perfect for cooling off from the heat. Its location means you don’t need to drive too far to visit the very lovely towns of Duras and Eymet. We and the dogs would definitely want to come back and would not have any hesitations in recommending. Thank you Emmanuel and James (and Max!).

We were very lucky to stay here in summer 24. firstly the photos do not do the Gite justice!!A stunning place inside and out, the owners have really managed to keep the rustic feel of a french country property while still having a modern comfortable feel. The outside area is very well maintained and perfect for lounging around the pool or eating all meals Al Fresco!! The interior was hygienically clean on arrival and could be mistaken for being completely brand new. The gites design means that the interior keeps itself relatively cool no mater what the temperature (we had some 38c days) especially the bedrooms (fans are also supplied). Everything was supplied such as coffee, tea, sugar, cleaning materials etc so there was no need to bring anything with us. If you love to cook while away then all mod-cons are provided and you'll easily be able to cater for yourself if you so wish. There are plenty of supermarkets and shops near by (although you will have to drive to them) the bakery is with in walking distance if you felt like it but is a 2 mile ish round trip, safe and easy enough though. Lots of small villages and larger towns all with in an hours drive and well worth a look. Some fantastic night markets that run over the summer which we highly recommend you visit a few times during your stay with great locally produced beers, wines, cheese, meats and even snails!! The owners Jason and Tracy were the perfect hosts, nothing was to much trouble. We'll defiantly be back!!

Perfect little gite for two with a most attractive garden surrounded by fields of sunflowers. The spacious garden offers both sunny and shady spots and lots of privacy. The house is simply furnished and reasonably well-equipped. The rooms are spacious and offer both sunny and cool spaces with large picture windows upstairs overlooking the garden. The host, Giliam could not have been more friendly, welcoming and helpful and always respected our privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in July and are already thinking of booking again.

We had a fabulous holiday here in July. The house is lovely, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. With just 4 of us we had loads of space, it would be just as comfortable with a full house. The rooms were large and very clean, the beds very comfortable. They did keep the heat in at night and would benefit from fans to use in the summer. The bathrooms were spotless. We were a little wary of no wifi with 2 sons in tow, but they amused themselves with the Wii and French tele. And the pool of course, was a godsend! With temperatures in the high 30’s and up into the 40’s we spent a lot of time there. There were some teething problems with the pool but Guy was excellent and with help from his local friend had it sorted and back to lovely blue water quickly. One thing I would suggest are a couple more sun shades, in the afternoon there’s not a lot of shade by the pool. As it was so hot, we didn’t venture far and self catered most evening meals. So having a well equipped kitchen was perfect, a dishwasher, a big fridge with an ice maker and the pots you could ever need, made all the difference. We didn’t use the BBQ. There are lots of indoor and outdoor games to make use of too. I enjoyed looking through the photo book showing how the house was transformed from an old barn to its current use. The gardens are attractive and large, surrounded by sunflowers whilst we were there. Most evenings we sat out looking at the view over the valley and watching the stars as they appeared. It was so peaceful we didn’t want to leave. In the village there is a very good butchers and the bread is good from the boulangerie, plus a fairly well stocked corner shop. I enjoyed taking my paddleboard on the canal at the bottom of the hill very much. You could access the river, alongside the canal, without too much difficulty too. All in all, an excellent property with a lovely host. I would highly recommend staying here.
