What makes this property unique
In 1865, this property was built as the Booth Hotel in what's now West Warwick, RI. Complete with a restaurant and bar on the first floor, and a barn for travelers' horses, this was the premier lodging in the area.
Following Mr. Booth's passing, his widow Jane, a teetotaler, removed the bar and discontinued alcohol sales. She ran the hotel throughout the Prohibition era as the "Temperance Hotel."
At some point likely following World War 2, the guest rooms on the upper floors were reconfigured into apartments, as was the former office on first floor. The barn was demolished to make way for a parking lot, and the former restaurant space was converted into a liquor store of all things!
Currently, the building hosts a real estate brokerage office as well as residential apartments.
Now, thanks to Vrbo, the former Booth Hotel has been returned at least in part to its roots in hospitality. We sincerely hope you enjoy your stay as did countless travelers from generations past!
