About the host
Hosted by Jael K.D.L.V. Chambers
I grew up in the city and didn’t discover hiking until later in life, after meeting my wife. Spending time in nature has brought me a sense of peace, rest, and balance that I never knew I was missing. Hosting allows me to share that experience with others. I love creating a welcoming, comfortable space where guests can unplug, explore nearby trails, and truly relax. Camp Dandelion is a place made for slowing down and enjoying the outdoors.
Why they chose this property
We chose this neighborhood for its peaceful, nature-filled setting and unbeatable access to the outdoors. Nestled in the woods and just minutes from Cowans Gap State Park and scenic hiking trails, it’s a place where mornings are quiet, evenings are calm, and nature is always close. What we enjoy most is how easy it is to unplug—whether it’s hiking nearby trails, enjoying the lake, or simply sitting on the deck surrounded by trees. It’s restful, grounding, and truly special.
What makes this property unique
What makes our property unique is the combination of peaceful seclusion and immediate access to incredible outdoor experiences. Camp Dandelion is a thoughtfully preserved mid-century cabin surrounded by woods, yet just minutes from Cowans Gap State Park and scenic hiking trails. The space is designed for rest and simplicity, wood stove, screened porch, deck in the trees, and quiet moments that invite you to slow down. It’s not just a place to stay, but a place to reset, unplug, and reconnect with nature.
