Among the many activities available are hiking in the forest right outside the front door or to the Schwedenstein with its observation tower, biking, hot-air balloon rides, visiting the thermal baths in Kirschau, a side trip to the Lusatian Lake District, and, in winter, sledding and skiing. When weather conditions permit, a cross-country ski trail is groomed right near the vacation rental.
The diving center in Steina offers excellent conditions for recreational and hobby divers. Excursions to the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, Königstein Fortress, or Stolpen Castle are also well worth the trip.
Visit the nearby Baroque Rammenau Palace, Pillnitz Palace, or Moritzburg Palace. Also worth seeing are the Dinosaur Park and the maze in Kleinwelka, as well as the nearby cities of Dresden, Meissen, and Bautzen with their numerous historic and world-famous sights. For beer lovers, Radeberg is about 15 km away.
