About Holly Bailey
Hello, we are Troy & Holly Bailey from New Virginia IA. We are transplants from Maryland that moved to this beautiful state in 2006. We dairy farmed in Maryland and moved to Iowa to partake in its more laid back, less crowded atmosphere and get our hands dirty with the rich black soil that covers the state.
Holly Bailey purchased this Barn in 2011
Why Holly Bailey chose New Virginia
We needed a place for family and friends to stay when they came to visit so we turned our barn into a rustic hideaway that we thought others would enjoy too. And they do. The only complaints we get from our guest is that they don't want to leave.
What makes this Barn unique
The landscaping is always changing here between a field full of soybeans or corn to the north ,a pergola covered in blooming wisteria, or tulips everywhere in the spring, how about the smells of the lavender that draws the butterflies to its purple luster, the birds always singing a song in the bushes and vines as they make their way to vibrant red birdboxes filled with chirping babies. The trees that shade you on a hot day as you relax in your chaise and catch an afternoon nap. Maybe you all but fell asleep getting a massage outdoors while you take in all these sounds and smells. (we have a massuse that comes and gives massages here at the barn) in the winter you can curl up by the fireplace with your cocoa ,watch the sun rise while you sip your cup of joe, watch the stars twinkle above your head as you gaze out the sky lights ,catch up on movie time, remember what its like to relax and enjoy life.

WONDERFUL RELAXING GETAWAY
Our stay at Bailey Farms Barn B&B was a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. Holly and Troy have done an AMAZING job of creating the perfect environment for a relaxing getaway. The barn is a unique place with rustic charm. The outside garden's offer a little bit of heaven on earth. The barn is neat and clean and the bed was comfortable. The skylight above the bed was a treat to gaze at the stars. The kitchen is wonderfully stocked to provide about anything you could want. The location was convenient to local attractions. The privacy was GREAT, much better than any hotel. We hope to return soon! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Cute barn and beautiful landscaping. Great place for a girls getaway.
Second time there, we loved it. We plan to go there again. We love the barn, some of us live on a farm, while a couple used to, brings back lots of memories. The people that own it, you can tell they love what they do, a lot of commitment to keeping the grounds and barn in excellent condition.
Red Barn Oasis
The place is better than the pictures. If you are looking for a place for some serious rest and relaxation this is your place. We saw beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We star gazed and we had privacy too. If you want to venture out you don't have to go far. Within 15-20 minutes away is the Aquabi state park which is beautiful and quiet. No wake in this lake! The park has a swimming area with beach, paddle boats, paddle boards, canoes, etc. The Crouse Café in Indianola is the perfect breakfast or lunch spot. Hometown cooking and you should definetly try their pies. The hosts were very accommodating. After our friends saw our photos of our time at the Bailey's Barn they were very jealous.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Such a relaxing environment with beautiful gardens.
We sat outside each morning and evening enjoying the wonderful flowers and peaceful surroundings. We were anxious to return each evening after sightseeing so we could be treated to a bullfrog chorus from the pond! The accommodations were equally enjoyable. Much thought and work has gone into making this a great place to stay.
Rural but not rustic, more like country chic!
This beautiful barn and garden site is very much an upscale accommodation that will give you peace and quiet any time of the day or night. The owners have provided not only a gorgeous facility but many small touches that make the place so pleasant. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathrooms are spacious, with plenty of hot water. I especially loved the hand held shower in the claw foot tub which was ample enough for enjoying a relaxing soak. The AC and ceiling fans kept it quite comfortable over one of the hottest weeks of the summer. Convenient to the covered bridges of Madison County and beautiful Winterset, IA, as well as to the Des Moines opera which performs in a concert hall on a college campus in nearby Indianola.
