About this property

Boogs Cabin at Lake Marion - The perfect cozy place to fish, play and recharge.

Boogs Cabin at the Lake is your cozy, laid back getaway on the big water of Lake Marion. With three comfortable bedrooms (1 King 2 Queen), bonus game room that also has a pull-out full bed and two sleeping cots, large sliding glass doors in the living room that invite natural light in and offer views of the great outdoors it's the perfect place to play, recharge and reconnect.

The space
Boogs Cabin offers a long dock that is on the big water. The property also has a loading dock on the other side that is located in a small cove that leads to the big water, coming out next to Big Cat Head Boat Landing. Our property also has its own boat ramp next to the loading dock. While my family has had no issue using the ramp, we cannot guarantee suitability for all vehicles or trailers. Guests are responsible for determining whether their equipment can safely access the ramp if you are having problems with the space Big Cat Head Landing has a ramp just a few streets over from our property (0.8 mile).

Inside the house you will find a big living room surrounded by large windows and sliding glass doors that allow you to see most of the property.

-The home can sleep up to ten people. Everyone's idea of comfort is different, so we encourage guests to review the bed layout and photos to ensure the space is a good fit for everyone in their party, each bed including the pull-out sofa bed can sleep two people. Our home has three bedrooms one king in master, two queens in the other bedrooms and a game room with a pull-out full-size sofa bed and two single sleeping cots that can be found in the closet. If you have ever slept on cots and sofa bed you may know they aren't the most comfortable, however they'll do the job for extra sleeping space, just keep this in mind when planning sleeping arrangements.

- The home has two bathrooms, the master only has a tub, the main bathroom has tub/shower. The laundry room has a washer and dryer for your use and cleaning supplies you may need can. The kitchen we have stocked with crockpot, blender, toaster, pots, pans, glass cups, coffee mugs, utensils, cookie sheets, oven mitts, knives, and other items you may need.
It's a charming home away from home and we hope you feel that while taking in this beautiful lake and making memories for the whole family.

-The property includes the whole home and grounds. Dock on big water, loading dock and boat ramp located on the cove side. It does not include use of the small yellow home.
-Check in time is 4pm and check out is before 11am. I normally offer early check in and late check out to guest anytime it’s available.
-When you arrive to the property you will come to a dead-end road and see where the driveway area looks to be shared, keep to the right.
There is a small red carport you are welcome to park under; it has room for two small vehicles or one large or even your boat.
Other things to note
Any decor or wall colors are subject to change and photos will be updated accordingly. Bed linens and towels may be different at any moment then in the pictures provided. This home does not currently have a wheelchair accessible ramp. The front door has seven steps going to it. The back door (closer to the colorful fence) only has 3 steps. There are a few raised thresholds where the flooring transitions in the home. Guest requiring mobility assistance should be aware of this change in level.
The big dock is located on the big water when water levels are high it can be between 6-7 foot deep at the end of the dock, when abnormally low the levels may be between 3-5 foot. We want all of our guest to have a wonderful stay. Please note that weather conditions, power outages, water levels, and boat ramp accessibility are outside of our control and therefore do not qualify for refunds. We do our best to keep guest informed of any known conditions before arrival so there are no surprises.
-Make sure all your guest also read over the rules.
- Do not take items out of the house, we keep inventory of everything in the home including games, statues, towels, and pillows. You will be charged accordingly.
- Quiet Hours Our quiet hours are from 10:00PM-8:00AM. We hope to maintain this out of respect for our neighbors. Please understand that while this is our house rule, we cannot control our neighbors,
-Please do not block driveway at any given time, please pull in as soon as you arrive. This includes the space between the red carport and the house. We want this open in case of an emergency.
- Please do not attempt to drive any vehicle (golf carts and sxs included) to the back of the property where the big dock and beach area are located, do not park any vehicles past the end of deck on the home. Any vehicles with a trailer can pull up and park in front of the small yellow home (with oak tree coming out of the porch) or the grass area next to Boogs Cabin.
- No Fireworks, Sparklers or Pop Rocks
-Do Not Block or Mess with Cameras. There are currently three security cameras located on the property. One is on the corner of the house closer to the front door. The second camera is at the wood line. The third camera is located on the back door. These cameras are motion detected and also record sound. We do not move the cameras or log on unless absolutely necessary. Please do not cover the cameras, mess with or block them for any reason.
- Do not let children play with the door locks or doorbell. Do not unplug the wifi connection doing so disrupts the cameras and door locks.
-Fireplace is capped off and can't be used. We do have candles in the fireplace you are welcome to use only in the fireplace. Please do not play in or on the bricks.
-Trash and Cleanliness
Please place trash in trash cans in the home, once the cans are full place the bag outside of the back door next to the steps in the big bin and someone will retrieve the trash to haul off at a discussed time. Please keep the home in reasonable clean condition at checkout.
- NO SMOKING OR VAPING OR ANY SUBSTANCE USE
Reframe from smoking or vaping inside the home. We will provide ashtrays on the porch please dispose of cigarette butts properly not in the yard or the lake.
-Grills/ Cooking out Currently we do NOT provide guest with a grill to use, if you bring a grill, we ask that it only be used in the sandy area at the end of the deck (by sliding glass doors) staircase. Do not for any reason put the grill on the porches/ deck.
- Do not stand on the wire in the porch railings.
-We allow up to ten people in the home. No Partys.
-We ask that you do not attach anything to the walls or ceiling. Please don’t use tape/ tacks/ nails/ glue or any other materials on the inside or outside of the home.
-PETS We do not allow any pets at this time.
- No rearranging of furniture or removing any items and altering any decor or any part of the home. Do not alter any of the items or structures of the home inside or out. - No diving or jumping off the docks. The water levels change in this lake all the time, this is a man-made lake there are still plenty of stumps and moving logs.
- There is a sink on the dock for use of fish cleaning, please do not use any chemicals. Use the sink area to cut your fish and not the wood on the dock.
-Make sure any items you may bring on the dock is secure; we are not responsible for any lost or dropped items. Please close the umbrella on the dock before leaving and during high winds we ask that you keep the umbrella closed.
- Use boat ramp at your own risk. The cove where you put your boat into from the boat ramp can be deep or very shallow at times, we have no way of knowing what the water levels may be when you arrive, but we try to keep all guest up to date if we hear of the water going down or higher than normal. From our experience the middle of this cove is actually much shallower than the sides and it also tends to have a lot of grass debris in the middle beneath the surface use with caution.
The boat ramp does have trees and fences nearby and may be hard for some to maneuver a vehicle and boat trailer. If this is the case, please go right down the road to Cathead Landing public lake access to launch your boat. This is in the neighborhood and not far at all (It is only 0.8 of a mile away). You can drive your boat back around in the cove to park it at the loading dock on the property or the other way to the big dock. USE THE DOCKS AND BOAT RAMP AT YOUR OWN RISK.
- Please be respectful of our neighbors. While we cannot control what our neighbors do, for the most part this is a very quiet area but occasionally you may hear our neighbors celebrating or having a good time,
- Do not cross over property lines. Do not drive behind the small yellow home or walk behind it, our property line is just behind there. You of course are still welcome to use the side of the small yellow home for the boat ramp and it's small fenced in area. The side with the colorful fence, don't pass over any trees or fencing.
- Respect the wildlife DO NOT touch or feed wildlife and reframe from any type of disturbance and/or harming any of them. Please make sure you have all your proper fishing permits if necessary and if you are here during gator hunting season and are legally obtaining a gator do not do so on the property. Disturbing/harming any wildlife will get you removed from the property.
- Damage and Accidents We understand accidents happen, please notify us promptly so we can address them.
- Sleeping Arrangements
There is a King in the master, one queen each in the other two bedrooms, and in the Game room there is a full-size pull-out sleeper sofa and in the closet two single sleeping cots. We try to make our home as comfortable as possible however if you have ever used a cot or pull-out couch you know they don't sleep like a normal bed so keep this in mind, but they work well for extra sleeping space.
There is a small yellow home on the property, this home is not included with your rental fee.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

About the host

Host profile image
I'm originally from the Charleston area but have lived in Eutawville most of my life. I truly enjoy getting people together and creating spaces where they can relax and feel at home, whether that is hosting a wine and paint, birthday parties or girls gathering. As someone who coordinates events and loves wedding planning hosting comes naturally to me. I love planning and paying attention to the little details and making sure our guest have a comfortable and memorable stay.

Why they chose this property

I love this neighborhood because for the most part many of us know each other. I have always felt safe here and love the peace and quiet this property tends to have especially being located at a dead-end street. While this property has neighbors, there are fencing, buildings or trees separating us from anyone and one whole side of the property has woods that really adds to the seclusion.

What makes this property unique

This property is unique in its own way to me because while it is located at somewhat of a point that allows for a decent amount of privacy. This property has access to the water by two ways, the first being a small cove that leads out next to big cat head landing which is very convenient for any fisherman, this cove is where our boat ramp and loading dock is located. The other access to the water is the big dock which is located on the big water not far from the mouth of Big Cat Head landing, this side also has a small beach area that you can swim at or bring your boat up to. Besides the water there are woods which really come to life at night, you can see from the porch or even inside the living room deer, rabbits, raccoons and other wild animals. Inside what makes our property so unique is the old charm, while this isn't for everyone it is definitely something we cherish about this home. The hardwood floors with some wear from the many years of families before us using them, the big fireplace, while not in use still gives charm and enough ambience when used with candles to make it feel cozy. The old wood doors and warm, familiar feeling that makes it feel welcoming like going to my grandparents that only an old home can give you is exactly the type of home this house is and we hope that you feel that when staying here.
