About this property
Beach Access + Resort Pool • Sleeps 8 + Private Balcony | 219 D Shipwatch
Isle of Palms has a way of making the rest of the world feel far away — which is exactly the point. This six-mile barrier island on South Carolina's Lowcountry coast is equal parts easygoing beach town and launch pad for some of the Southeast's most storied destinations. Set within the gated Wild Dunes community, 219 D Shipwatch sits at the island's quieter, more residential end, right where the dunes give way to the Atlantic.
Inside, the open layout keeps everyone connected without anyone stepping on toes. The dining table seats eight, the kitchen is stocked with quality appliances and a coffee station for slow-starting mornings, and a large TV with surround sound makes a rainy afternoon indoors feel like a plan rather than a compromise. When the weather turns fair — and out here, it usually does — the balcony is the best seat in the house, with lounge seating, ocean views, and salt air doing most of the talking.
Three bedrooms sleep up to eight. The primary suite pairs a king bed with a private ensuite, a calm place to retreat when the day winds down. The second bedroom offers another king, ideal for a second couple or anyone who likes their own space. The third is built for the younger crew, with two twin-over-twin bunks that sleep four. Three full bathrooms, including a shower/tub combo, keep the morning routine moving.
The Shipwatch complex is a destination in itself. Its swimming area is among the largest on the island — a full-size pool, a separate children's pool, and a travertine surround that raises the bar on the usual community setup. A beach gazebo with an observation deck gives you another vantage on the water, and a short path through the dunes puts your toes in the sand in minutes. There's even an on-site playground to keep the little ones busy between beach sessions.
When you're ready to venture past the sand, the location more than earns its keep. Sullivan's Island sits about seven miles away, home to Fort Moultrie and a well-loved run of restaurants along Middle Street. Mount Pleasant is roughly eight miles out and worth the short drive for Boone Hall Plantation, the waterfront tables at Shem Creek, and the USS Yorktown. And Historic Charleston, regularly ranked among the country's top travel destinations, waits just 17 miles down the road, with its galleries, architecture, and celebrated dining around every corner.
This is Isle of Palms at its best — oceanfront, easygoing, and perfectly positioned for however you want to spend the days.

Ideally located, this beach house on the Isle of Palms is an easy drive to Sullivan’s Island, Mount Pleasant and Historic Charleston. Sullivan’s Island (7 miles) features Fort Moultrie and wonderful dining options along Middle Street. In Mount Pleasant (8 miles), your family will want to visit Boone Hall Plantation with its avenue of oaks, the USS Yorktown, Town Center shopping and the restaurants lining the shrimp docks on Shem Creek. Finally, Historic Charleston (17 miles) is the number one tourism destination in the United States and offers some of the world’s finest restaurants, galleries, historic homes and gardens.

We enjoyed our stay. The condo was clean and the view was perfect. Well stocked kitchen and nicely decorated. Our only complaint was that the furniture in the living room was very uncomfortable. Overall a great stay.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! We're so glad to hear the condo felt clean, well-stocked, and that the view lived up to expectations — it really is a special one. We appreciate your honest note about the living room furniture, and we'll be sure to pass that along as we look at ways to enhance comfort throughout the space. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future!
Our stay was delightful. We were extremely happy this end unit was available as a new listing. Great oceanfront views and easy beach access. Kitchen was well equipped. Everything was as advertised. Ideal for 2 couples with children. The pool was clean and monitored by management. It was nice to be able to park under the building.

So glad the new end unit listing was such a delightful find — those oceanfront views, easy beach access, and convenient under-building parking sound like the perfect setup for two families! We'd love to welcome you back anytime!
We had a lovely stay for two nights in August. The property management company was excellent with their communication and reached out a few hours before we arrived to let us know the house we originally booked had a broken HVAC unit and asked us if we’d like to relocate. We were traveling with friends staying in another unity within the complex, and this move would put us nearby, but in a different HOA. They were able to get us access to the pool in our original complex so we could still swim with our friends. The home was lovely and welcoming, every piece of info we needed was messages right to our phone and the host was incredibly responsive every time we reached out. For sure pricy, but in line with other units. We didn’t know the beach construction would be 24/7, so we did hear beeping from equipment here and there while trying to sleep, so glad we didn’t book more than two nights. That said, it was fascinating to watch them rebuilding the beach! Overall, a great stay.

Thank you for such a generous and detailed account of your stay. We are glad our team was able to get ahead of things and find a solution that still kept you close to your friends, and it means a lot to hear that the communication throughout made a difference. It is also good to know the home itself felt welcoming, even with the activity happening nearby, and we appreciate you flagging that for future guests. Thank you for staying with us, and we would love to welcome you back anytime.
Thank you so much for the kind review! We're so glad you had a great stay. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we'd love to welcome you back anytime — thank you again for staying with us!
