About this property

Highland Homestead - 90s Vibes, Lakefront, Canoe, Ping-Pong, Cozy Retreat

Step back in time at Highland Homestead, your retro 90's lake getaway. Wake up to the soothing sound of our private Highland Lake Dam, creating a never-ending waterfall right on the property! Vintage CD & VHS collections, ping-pong, canoes, and direct lake access. Cozy 90's cottage-core vibes, perfect for book club treats, girls' weekends, or family fun. Toys for littles, a stocked kitchen, and a 3-season porch to unwind. Dam good times await!

Pull right up to one of three off-street parking spots and walk through a welcoming entryway with coat hooks and a boot landing zone — vacation mode starts at the door. The kitchen is light, airy, and fully stocked with the essentials so you can dive straight into home-cooked meals without a second thought. The king bedroom offers a dedicated reading nook and water views, with room-darkening curtains for those mornings you deserve to sleep in. Fresh towels, a shower/tub combo, and an in-unit washer and dryer round out everything you need for a seamless stay.

The living and dining space is where the memories get made — a vintage dining table for family dinners, a nostalgic CD collection, puzzles, board games, and a plush reading chair with the best water views in the house. But the real crown jewel is the three-season sunroom. Wrapped in natural light and the gentle sound of the dam, it's where afternoons quietly disappear into the oversized sectional. Black fly season has no power here.

Step out back and follow the short path to your own private access point on Highland Lake — six miles of peaceful water perfect for canoeing, fishing, and wading. The canoe is ready and waiting. Back on land, the garage game room with a ping pong table is just getting started.

About the host

Hosted by Casey Leach

Host profile image
Chris and Casey live about an hour away and first started hosting guests at their 1970s aframe which is right up the road. In 2025, they bought the Homestead. They are old home lovers and fell in love with the house's history (it had been in the same family since 1947), the screened in porch, the waterfall sound off the dam and of course the direct access to the lake. We love sharing this special place with others.

Why they chose this property

We love Stoddard and Highland Lake; it's rural, quiet and the perfect getaway spot.

What makes this property unique

Old Home charm with thoughtful upgrades. The dam that is on our property provides around-the-clock waterfall vibes.
