About this property
Fishing Cottage Lovers Hideaway
Summary:
Enjoy the holidays with a River vacation. Cottage is perfect for a romantic getaway, a fisherman's retreat or a relaxing rest stop on an I-5 journey in Anderson. 2-4 guests can enjoy nature, swim, or share our hot tub. Our 1 acre estate is at 4261 Story Ln! Need more room? Book the luxury house next door and make fantastic memories together. Fast wifi, TV & full kitchen means you won't rough it to enjoy great fishing. Yes, there is a desk for those who work remotely. Pet allowed with $50 fee.
The Space:
This private 1BR cottage on the western edge of our property has a full kitchen and private shower and river access. There is a comfortable queen bed in the bedroom.
We also keep a queen air mattress in the cabinet so a couple more people can sleep on the floor in the living room. The living room has a couch and love seat as well as a comfy chair. There is a table near the fridge where 2-4 people can share a meal together. The full kitchen comes with plenty of utensils to prepare a great meal. We have a full-size fridge you can fill with your favourite foods. The ice-maker works great too if you want to fill your cooler before you get back on the road.
Up to 8 people can relax in our brand new large hot tub which sits between the house and the cottage for all to enjoy!
Guest Access:
The yellow cottage uses a digital lock with a 4 digit code. You will have private use of the cottage and can park your car close, safely inside the gate.
Outdoors is shared space. We may have other guests in the house so consider the pool and hot tub as shared amenities. Our neighbourhood quiet time is from 10pm to 7am. This includes the hot tub and pool. No late night loud activities are allowed.
The house next door and the deck are off limits as we often host other guests so please respect their privacy as we ask them to respect yours
The Neighborhood:
We live in a quiet neighbourhood on the dead end Story Lane in Anderson. We are just off exit 670 or Riverside Drive in Anderson past the Gaia Hotel. Living near the river allows us to enjoy being close to nature. As with all neighbourhoods we do enjoy quiet time from 10 pm to 7 am
Getting Around:
There is no public transport in our area so you will need a car. There are car rentals at the airport if you fly in to Redding. We are only 3.5 miles away from the airport
Other Things to Note:
We do have a lot of wildlife so bird poo is a daily chore. The geese love to leave their deposits around the yard too. Please lower the umbrella shades when not in use to prevent wind damage. If PGE cuts the power our back up generator should start up automatically within a few seconds. Our neighbor next door has an unique collection of antique farm items and wind chimes.
Interaction with Guests:
Feel free to call me if you have any questions or problems. Everything is set up for self check-in and self-catering.
Our property manager can assist you with any problems you may encounter. The circuit panel is behind the flower tapestry in the entry area if you need to reset a tripped switch
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

We had lovely time at this cottage. The pool and outdoor grounds were even lovelier than the photographs, and helped beat the heat. The cottage itself was small but nice.

This is definitely an outdoors lovers paradise! Hope you can come again
Took a nice little "daycation" with my 3 kids and they absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back but next time even longer it had everything you could ever need to swim, fish have a good time bbq, relax for both myself and the kids will definitely return again. Only small issue was landscaping could have been done before check in not while we are there hanging out other than that it was amazing!!!

Rodrigo is a great guest and still active in the military serving our country. I honor him for being so invested in his family too
I stayed at the lovely cabin on Robs property a few weeks ago. It was so nice and clean and was safe for a person traveling solo. Rob was very responsive when I had a question and there was a local gentleman available for support in the event something came up. I loved his place! Thank you
I must say, I had a lot of questions and some special requests. Hannah and Rob were excellent in responding to my questions in a timely manner and went out of their way to ensure we would have the privacy we were hoping for during our stay. Nice piece of property and the cottage was clean and comfortable.
Were unable to get inside upon first arriving, messaged host and they replied shortly. Locked ourselves out later in the stay and once again they replied promptly. The property and interior were wonderful with a great view and working amenities. Thank you hannah and Rob!
even better than the photos! Beautiful property and comfortable home! Nice kitchen and comfy bed. Just felt very comfortable and going outside to watch the sunsets and see the geese was so fun! Not sure if they rent the other building on the property but if so it would be a great place to rent both for a big family event! The pool looked great. Close to the freeway which was nice because we were on a road trip. An overall good stay and I would stay again.

So glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes. We also rent the house out and the second cottage for family gatherings and such
The look on my dog’s face when he saw the huge lawn and river access was priceless. He literally wanted to leave city life and become a river dog. The Riverside Cottage was so cute, clean and as pictured. Gorgeous sunset spot. Rob and Allison made everything so easy! If I’m ever back in the area, I’ll definitely stay again 10/10
I took my twin daughters and a their friend to stay at the cabin while I went to a dr appointment. The girls loved the huge jacuzzi with messaging jets and swimming pool. The large house shares the jacuzzi and pool but was not all issue. The view of the river was awesome. I met the owner for a few minutes and she was very friendly. I plan to go back when ever we get the chance.

So glad you enjoyed your quick little visit. Hope you find time to come soon
For the most part, our stay was everything we expected. The space was perfect for us. However, the grill was rusted and disgusting. Also couldn’t find any utensils to use on the gril if it was clean. We had planned a grilling a nice Valentines dinner. So we turned to the kitchen which had about zero utensils to cook, plenty of silverware not much else. The food in the cabinet and snacks was a nice touch. Again though, how do you cook pancakes with no spatula? Overall the space was perfect and the time away was much needed.

So sorry for the various inconveniences you encountered. We are taking care to remedy these immediately. If you ever do consider the Riverhouse again, know that we are usually nearby on the property and can instantly respond to any call or special request to ensure that your needs are fully satisfied.
The property is very private extremely clean and has everything you need to cook or relax and eat out. There’s a beautiful pool and a wonderful serene view of the river with chairs, lights and several games if traveling with family. you do share the property with other travelers, although it was still quite peaceful. it is also puppy friendly and the grounds are kept impeccably. The hosts were wonderful and I couldn’t say enough about how absolutely beautiful the view is.!! I will definitely be coming back.!!
Stylish and well equipped the grounds are beautiful and was well suited to bring my small dog.

So glad you were able to come and stay. Pets do seem to really enjoy being able to enjoy playing in the yard that is fenced all the way up to the river too
The River house was amazing! Perfect place to stay if your looking for enough room for a family and friends. Rob and Allison made the booking an ease and were very gracious, definitely can’t wait to stay again.
Thank you for such a sweet stay! We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful yard and private river shoreline. The cottage has everything you'd need and is very cozy!!! Definitely coming back!
Loved the property and the view. I wish I had known that the owner stays there the whole time with wife and son lives in trailer. They sleep under you in house in basement. CREEPY. If I had known that they stay there the whole time and pick up the mail while you are staying there I would never have booked it. Property is nice but he mows while you’re visiting and walks dog. Like you are staying there with them. I booked cottage so that it would just be my family but that’s not the case. Disappointed for sure

Im sorry that you were looking for a more isolated vacation rental. As laws are changing, it seems world-wide that the only way Short Term Rentals may exist is that owner occupied properties can be licensed. Please let your own community leaders know that you don't want owners on site when you stay in a vacation rental. Your vote matters!
We had an amazing time at Rob and Allison’s cottage. The cottage was extremely spacious, comfortable and clean! We enjoyed the country surroundings, walking in the beautiful neighborhood and the lovely yard that backs to the river and the amazing pool!! We felt very safe here and loved the wonderful energy of the property and our very gracious and helpful hosts!! :)) I would definitely stay again and highly recommend this stay for anyone staying in the area. :)

I’m so glad you enjoyed your time here. Each season brings new aspects to enjoy and appreciate around here. I hope you can come again sometime
My husband & I just stayed at the Riverside Cottage. I thought the pictures in the VRBO ad were very accurate. Absolutely charming & spacious.
My brother also spent the first night in the living area on a trundle bed. Again, there was plenty of room for all.
I look forward to staying there again.
Very peaceful haven for rest and relaxation. Most comfortable bed and pillows! Beautiful view of water. Allison and Ron were very welcoming with thoughtful care to creating the space.

So glad we could provide you a refreshing spot on your long journey
This property was everything we needed for a short getaway with two adults and a young child. The Zimmermans (hosts) were friendly, helpful, and communicative. The amenities are on shared property (hot tub, fire pit) but the hosts gave us space and privacy, while also ensuring we had everything we needed. We enjoyed the lovely personal touches such as fresh cut flowers on the table upon arrival. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, saving us from going out for every meal. Sipping coffee on the porch while overlooking the river made it truly feel like vacation! I hope we get the chance to stay here again in the future.
