About Antonio D.
A clinical psychologist supported by his wife and daughter to take care of the villa. I like to receive our guests and I personally take care with some help of check-in and check-out; I consider very important to welcome the guests, make them feel confortable from the beginning and explain everything about the house and give some information about the area. I love the villa and the nature around it ! We usually spend some weeks in July or August and some spring weekends when possible. I received this house from my parents and refurbished it in 2004 .
Why Antonio D. chose Bagheria
For a full immersion in the nature, for the possibility of watching from the terrace the sea and the sky changing every hour, for a very close access at Monte Catalfano Park, for being a very quiet place at only 25 Km from Palermo. Also for getting a very clean house and for our attention at a simple but stylish interior. We love this house, love to spend some weeks here and try to pass and share this feeling with our guests.

Beautiful villa in a tropical, terraced garden on the stunning Mongerbino coastline
A dream vacation, the lovely Laura Marie Villa sits on a spectacular stretch of rocky coastline just east of Palermo. There is easy access to the water nearby, either a walk to a rocky outcrop which is great for snorkelling or a short drive to sandy beaches. The view from the large terrace is fabulous and there are plenty of chairs, deck chairs and sunloungers to enjoy it from, all surrounded by a well tended tropical, terraced garden. There is also a barbecue and outdoor kitchen area. Inside there is a comfortable open plan lounge/dining area with small, well stocked kitchen, along with 3 bedrooms. We are a family of 5, all children now grown, and we fitted the villa perfectly. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan to help stay cool in the hot summer months, which we really needed in early July, as the weather was hot and humid. The property has a driveway on a slope with a parking area that is big enough to use as a turning circle. Our large rental car needed to do a 7 point turn in the space, so probably best to book a smaller size car if possible. Antonio and Debbie look after the villa exceedingly well, with a friendly personal service and plenty of information and advice if needed. Although it was hard to leave the lovely terrace each day, we managed to visit many interesting places. Very close by is the ancient archaeological site of Solunta, well worth visiting and has great views of the region. We took the train into Palermo, which was also easy from Bagheria, and a short walk then to the main sites of interest. Driving in Sicily can be startling around the towns and cities at busy times....reminding us of Mariokart!! Be prepared for cars overtaking on both sides and free for all busy junctions! However, outside the city, the autostrada routes were an easy drive. We were able to visit Segesta and Ericae in one day and also Cefalu is an easy day trip. In nearby Castelldaccia we found a scuba diving company and 2 of our party enjoyed a half day scuba trip with them, while the rest of us relaxed at the nearby lido!
Overall, we had a wonderful holiday made very memorable by the spectacular location of this very special villa. Thank you Antonio and Debbie.
We will always remember our enjoyment of the expansive and extraordinary views from the many outdoor living spaces! There were patios, nooks and cranies located throughout the grounds (as well as 2 dining tables) - all with a stunning oceanview. We never wanted to leave!
A Wonderful Location With a Gracious Host
This property is in a lovely location. Two couples spent a week here and used it as a base to explore western Sicily. Antonio kept in touch throughout our visit and responded quickly to any problems. You can walk into Aspra and into the park across the street but you really need a car to get anywhere else. Because of the cliffside location, the driveway is somewhat difficult and suited for only one car. The plus side is that parking is secure, as is the rest of the property. We would certainly visit again.
Nice house with wonderful views
We enjoyed our stay very much, the view is priceless!
Our host Antonio welcomed us and was always available.
The house is also great.
Greetings from Karin and Bernd
We had a lovely stay at Villa Laura Marie after a busy week prior. The view was stupendous, and location was perfect for us. We did some day trips from the Villa without needing to get caught up in city traffic and congestion.
The property had everything we needed to feel comfortable. There is no A/C, but efficient ceiling fans that kept us cool. We were within a short drive to grocery stores and a number of really great restaurants.
A wonderful stay and nice villa!
Fantastischer Aufenthalt mit tollem Meeresblick!
Lieber Antonio, liebe Debbie,
Villa Laura Marie is in Mongerbino, in a very quiet area but only 25 km from Palermo, and 6 km. from the highway ( Palermo-Catania ) in a strategic point to visit western and central Sicily.
Very close to Mongerbino seaports like Porticello , full of restaurants, and Aspra, both great for buying fresh fish. In Bagheria ( 10 minutes away ), known for the villas that noble people built in the 18th century, you can find whatever you need ( stores, food shops, gift shops and a variety of services ) and visit villa Palagonia and the gallery of villa Cattolica.
At only 50 meters from the gate of the house the access to the park of 'Monte Catalfano': easy trails that bring you to wonderful views of the coast and of near towns and villages, great for hiking.
Very close the ellenistic site of Solunto, with a beautiful view of the coast. .
Palermo, the capital of Sicily is a big Mediterranean city, rich of artistic sites and full of the traces of the different peoples and civilizations of its past ( Romans, Arabs, Normans, Swabians and Bourbons ). You can not miss Palermo's baroque palaces and churches, the Byzantine mosaics of the Palatine chapel, the cathedral that unites Gothic and Norman art.
In the vicinity other sites of artistic and cultural interest (Monreale, Cefalù, Solunto). Agrigento and its temples are about one hour away as Trapani.
