About Stan Groman
I have been coming to Costa Rica since 1965 when I was in college. In 2004 I decided to purchase a upper condo in the newest development in planning in Coco at the time, Cocomarindo. It took years to complete but was finally finished in 2008. I speak Spanish and welcome guests from anywhere.
Stan Groman purchased this Condo in 2008
Why Stan Groman chose Coco
This gated complex is about as close to the beach as you can get and own property. The state owns the first few hundred meters. Being an upper unit in the complex, it is more quiet, private, and has a prettier view from the balcony. It is the only unit offering the amenities we do: near full wall mirrors in the living room and master bedroom. Not caring to smell the odors of foods cooking we put in vents that exit to the exterior in the kitchen and bathroom, added amenities such as bicycles, snorkeling equipment, air mattresses and frisbies to make your stay more enjoyable.
What makes this Condo unique
The tropical gardens inside the complex are extremely well groomed and the pool is cleaned every morning and kept clear and balanced chemically so it is seldom if ever cloudy. The complex is well maintained with 24 hour security.
Please consider the following guidelines when booking this property:
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
Great Condo...... Great Location.....
The condo had everything that you would need to enjoy your stay. The unit itself was very clean and the complex was meticulously maintained. The pool had a great vibe that allowed you to meet and hang-out with others. The 24 hour security was nice and the security people were very friendly (like every local in the area). However the best part was the road leading to the condo from Coco........ We stayed with our 17 year old son and all enjoyed every aspect of Cocomarindo and Guanacaste.
Great 1st time in Costa Rica
Condo was comfortable and clean. Nice people. Limited parking but we were able to park inside most of our stay. Nice pool and close to everything. The bikes were great. No complaints.
Nice condo, cozy relaxing place with a beautiful pool
This place was great, decent walking distance to downtown Playas del Coco. The condo is small but very nice, comfortable and clean, and fully equipped. It is right in front of the pool, which was the best part. The pool is very big and has a nice shallow part. The other guests were very friendly and fun to talk to. They gave us suggestions for tours, shopping, and good places to eat. Parking is limited inside the complex, so you may have to park outside if you rent a vehicle. Overall the place was great and exactly what we needed for our stay. We really enjoyed the proximity to the beach.
A fun and relaxing home
Nice condo in a beautiful setting with a real sense of communal living. Close to 5 beaches, it was nice spending our days away and even nicer coming back to the Oasis of Cocomarindo.
The outer appearance is a little sketchy but once inside Cocomarindo is nice.
My husband, son and I were there for 14 days. We were immediately disappointed due to the location, DONT GO BY THE DOT ON THE MAP!! We went with two other families who were completely across town, when we booked it we all tried to be in the same area, didn’t happen! Thank heaven the condo came with bikes, they were a life saver! We did have to replace a tube on my husband’s bike and the chain on the red bike kept falling off, irritating but doable.
In a previous review I read about ants and the the cause was not being clean or leaving food out, not true. We cooked two meals in the condo and still had about a dozen ants, mainly in the bathroom though. Not a huge deal, the bugs that got me are these tiny bugs that were all over the table and on the wall scurrying from the light switch to the window. I finally got fed up with them and got some bug spray out of the closet. We had a hard time sitting at the table without them climbing on your hands!
The laundry facility was fine except you are on your own trying to figure out how to use the card. We were given 3 loads on the card and for 12 days that was not enough! But the frustrating part was when we went to try to load the card with more points we learned that you have to go downtown someplace and get points, not convenient nor is that information mentioned anywhere.
The other tenants and residents there were very friendly and so helpful.
We would of been in a world of hurt without Victor, one of the guards. He was a life saver.
Not a bad place to stay just frustrating with where we thought the location was,
Ants in the tropics are unavoidable so we have provided bug spray for free. We provide prepaid laundry for several loads but beyond that it is necessary to ride a mile away on the bikes to the management office put more money on the prepaid laundry cards. Although we send everyone specific directions to the condo we find that many have misplaced them by the time they arrive. We try our best to address the unknowns.
It was a very cozy relaxing place very convenient shops, food, and the beach near by.
I was impressed the people there was friendly and kind. Stan was hands on at all times when ever I needed to phone him and have things done he was available. The only thing I would recommend is up grading the towels and wash clothes which is minor. I loved it my family enjoyed themselves and we would visit again!!
Playa del Coco is more of a native town than tourist center. Described as a scruffy fishing village by a well known tour book, and not a polished Acapulco. You will find yourself mixing with natives of the area. The Mapache boat departing Thursdays is one of the best ways to see the beaches, go snorkeling, kayaking, and sun bathing on pristine beaches away from Coco.
