This cute two-bedroom Florence vacation rental is an idyllic retreat for a family getaway or gathering of friends. Tucked behind coastal foliage and trees and only a few blocks from the gorgeous Pacific Ocean, indulge in sun-kissed beach days at this oceanside home.

From this charming bungalow, there's a leisurely path to the beach at Driftwood Shores Resort just down the road. You'll find a long sandy beach to explore where you can fly a kite or roll your pant legs up and play in the surf! Local attractions include Florence's historic Old Town area for shopping, galleries, and restaurants. The surrounding inland lakes offer fishing while golf fanatics will appreciate the Rhodo Dunes Golf Course. The pristine Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area is a must, but if you don't feel like driving you can spend hours whale watching right from the beach!

The wraparound front porch complete with patio furniture welcomes guests upon their arrival. It's just the place for a cup of coffee or an afternoon cup of tea while enjoying a few chapters of your latest read. And when you step through the front door, you'll find the interior is just as inviting.

The cozy living room features a collection of comfortable furniture, wooden shelves filled with books, and ocean-themed throw pillows. You'll instantly feel at home in this well-loved beach house with the wood burning stone fireplace to keep you warm on chilly coast nights. Use the refrigerator, stovetop/oven and microwave to prepare fresh seafood ingredients in the comfort of your beach house. You'll have everything you need from plates, silverware, and wine glasses to pots, pans and a dishwasher to keep cleanup simple. The wooden dining table is perfect for buffet-style lunches, while out on the porch there's a grill and picnic table so you can enjoy your meal with some sunshine.

There will be no arguing with the kids when it's their bedtime, as the little ones will be treated to a whimsical room all their own. They can sail away to dreamland in a bunk bed shaped like a boat with the company of friendly ocean creatures in the undersea mural. Two additional bedrooms each have a comfortable queen-sized bed. The master suite even has its own TV and DVD player as well as a private bathroom with a romantic claw foot tub - Just open the windows and let the ocean's rhythmic waves lull you to sleep in this peaceful room.

When you're looking for some quiet repose, the top level loft is a great, surf shack-style ocean-view room. Come up here to read, socialize, or just enjoy the beautiful Heceta Beach scenery. And of course, there's also the outdoor hot tub on the deck adding the final touch on everything you need for a blissful and relaxing getaway.

About Vacasa, OR - Oregon Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental managementthings like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Nice house but a bit musty.

 • 3 of 5

When we arrived and opened the front door we were met with a very musty damp smell. It seems that the downstairs bedroom has a little moisture problem (walls or carpet?). I slept in the upstairs bedroom with the window open the first night, and used essential oils to help cover the dankness. Other than that we really enjoyed staying in this little cottage, it has all the necessities to make meals in the fully stocked kitchen and played games on the big table late into the evening. Really enjoyed the hot tub. It took a little coercing to get the water temp to go over 99 degrees, but once we figured it out it was perfect relaxation morning and evening. Easy walk to the beach - about 8 minutes to the sand, then a long enough beach to get a good hour walk in the salt air. Just a short drive into Florence where we enjoyed the pubs and antique shopping.

Cute cottage, but a little musty.

 • 3 of 5

On arrival and every time we opened the front door we were met with a dank, musty smell. The downstairs bedroom seemed to have a damp smell. I slept in the upstairs bedroom with the window open the first night and used essential oils to mask the odor. Everything else about the house and hot tub was very nice and comfortable.

Owner's Response: The property manager and owner inspected the entire house and were unable to find any mold. There is a very slight musty smell that they believe must have been caused from the heavy amounts of rain. They did wash everything and provided air fragrance to assist in ridding the house of the smell. Thanks!

Charming home and a great location

 • 5 of 5

I really enjoyed this charming, quirky, funky little house. Very homey and welcoming. The location is great. Short walk to the beach, pleasant neighborhood to walk my dog, really quiet. I am hating to leave. Could stay another 10 days easily.

Don't count on the hot tub working

 • 1 of 5

We were excited to have a family weekend at the beach. Sad to find out the hot tub has not been working and no repair was attempted during our 3 day stay. With a dog friendly home, didn't expect perfectly clean but for $125 cleaning fee, at least floors should be cleaned and cob webs cleaned out of windows. Great setting but cost way to high with no hot tub. Beds were really poor. Kitchen was stocked with very used and old pots and pans.
