It has four bedrooms and three full bathrooms, along with a sitting area and a kitchen (kosher available on request) that features full size appliances. The bedroom layout is as follows. Master Bedroom ( 1 Queen bed, private bath, dresser & mirror, closet). Master Bedroom ( 2 twin beds, private bath, closet). Queen Bedroom with dresser, mirror & closet. Two Twin Beds with closet. On site parking on our lot is free. We are close to Longs Park, Buchanan Park, Franklin & Marshall and the RT30 on/off ramp. Linens and towels are included and basic hotel amenities are included..

Wonderful place for a family to stay in Lancaster

The apartment was the perfect size for our family of six. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and having a full kitchen enhanced our stay. The landlord was very friendly and helpful, providing us with a list of things do do in the area. The apartment is conveniently located next door to a market, and about a mile from a synagogue. I have already recommended this apartment to others, and would stay here again if I have the opportunity.

Super Clean and New But Not What We Expected

I would rate 5 Stars if rating was based solely on cleanliness, comfort of the beds, and fast and friendly service from the on-site (or easily available) managers. The "apartment" is in fact a rehabbed structure (maybe an old house?) attached to Jewish Community Center. Although reviews date back to 2014, it seemed like we were among the first to stay as everything seemed brand new. (Stickers were still on the microwave oven, plastic was still on lamp shades, energy labels still on TVs, etc.. The new smell of recent remodeling even hung in the air. Appliances were nearly spotless and the set of cookware appeared to have never been used.) Water pressure in the 3 shower/bathtub units was great and AC was very effective. The washer and dryer were also brand new, large capacity, and very nice front load models. In the day time a person was available in the Center and was very helpful in greeting us and answering questions. When we discovered there was no coffee pot she immediately delivered a new 12 cup maker and filters. Very kind/prompt

That said, our family has used VRBO and HomeAway for many years and across many states and continents and this property was not what we expected from a four bedroom/3 bath rental which one would expect to accommodate a large family or even a couple small families. Specifics:

1.The kitchen had ONLY plastic/paper/styrofoam utensils. This is noted in the listing but we have never stayed in a VRBO that did not have at least some sturdy glassware, coffee mugs, containers suitable for a microwave. There were also no sharp knives for slicing fruit, no strainer for pasta, no mixing spoons or measuring cups. It was a clumsy challenge to even scramble eggs; any other meal prep would have been much more difficult. 2. There is only a very small table in the kitchen with two counter height stools under it. The only other seating for eating is down the wooden stairs to the single room on the first level. With a large group or elders/youngsters, it could be a lot of up and down. 3. One TV in one bedroom on a dresser and another TV was in the single room downstairs. Very little TV-viewable seating - only the 3 seats sofa which was too close to the large screen for comfort. No coffee or end tables and no lamps. 4. There is no outdoor space or seating; feels like a city parking lot and business lots all around. 5. Historic Lancaster downtown is not walking though other pizza and pubs were. 6. Noisy highway in am and pm.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review our property. I'm glad that you found the property exactly as listed. The Guest Suite is in a old (historic?) Farm House originally built in the 1860s(aprox.). We gutted it and completely rehabbed it in 2014. I'm sorry that it didn't meet your expectations. We strive to exceed expectations and therefore will certainly consider your constructive comments. When considering the plans of the Guest Suite, we did sacrifice living/gathering space for bedroom space. This has generally worked well for guests who needed more places to sleep. In the future, if a family would like more living space we can and have in the past converted a bedroom to a living room for that family's stay. We do prefer to stock the kitchen with disposable goods. It helps us keep the place so clean that it feels "new". If any future guest would like "real" kitchen utensils etc please let us know in advance and we will do our best to make sure that the kitchen is stocked accordingly. We are 5 minutes walk away from many restaurants and shops, Franklin & Marshall College, etc. . We are 10 minute walk from Clipper Magazine Stadium. We are a 25 minute walk from the Historic Lancaster Walking Tour. The "Highway" you refer to is a street with one lane of traffic in each direction with residential speed limits (25-35 mph). I'm surprised that you were able to hear the street noise even during the busy time (8:30am - about 7pm) as the Guest Suite is over insulated to create a sound barrier. I will look into what else we can do. Thank you for your stay and your review. Safe travels!

We are located at the edge of Lancaster City. The best of both worlds (Downtown Lancaster and Easy Access to Lancaster Farm Country). Park City Mall is just over a mile away (the largest mall in Lancaster County). Outlet Shopping, Miniature Golf, Amish Country and Dutch Wonderland and other tourist attractions are 15-18 minutes away. Downtown Lancaster is 5 minutes away. Franklin & Marshall College is 5 minutes away (Walking). Our personal favorites are the Cherry Crest Farm and the Choo Choo Barn.
