Overview

About the property

3 Bedrm, 2 Bath, 6 miles to Downtown or Biltmore, Off Blue Ridge Parkway

Super reliable cell and internet access! Professionally cleaned for every stay and a pet-free environment. Only 1.5 miles off a major highway. 6 miles to downtown. In an area that allows short term rentals, so no worries about reservation being cancelled. You will be the only ones staying in this home and the driveway is all yours. 3 queen size beds, sleeps 6+, mountain setting/views from windows and outside spaces. Very private on wooded half-acre with bird/wildlife viewing, but just walk to the end of our street, cross the Blue Ridge Parkway and walk onto the huge trail system including the Mountain to Sea Trail with access to a folk art center and the Parkway Visitor Center. Year round road accessibility. The Mountain Biker's favorite location, Bent Creek is only a 15 minute drive away.Short drive to downtown Asheville, Biltmore Estate, Funky West Asheville, River Arts Distric, waterfalls, and more. Some of the best restaurants in the country are to be found in this area. A brand new state of the art Whole Foods just opened a few miles away. Several other healthy or conventional grocery stores are also just minutes away.

Most recent improvement is a rain roof over the downstairs patio, so that you can sit on the Adirondack chairs in front of the firepit, and sip your coffee, wine or beer come rain or shine!

Upstairs includes 2 bedrooms with queen beds, large closets and two full baths, living room, fully equipped kitchen, eating area, & furnished deck with grill. Large room downstairs with queen bed, sitting area with full-size foldout sofa, very tiny half bath, electric fireplace and walk out to patio with firepit and chairs. All bedding/pillows/towels, etc. are supplied, including for fold-out sofa. The kitchen just received a new stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, popcorn maker, crockpot, blender, and more. We are always improving for your comfort. This is city water, so pressure and supply are totally reliable. There are plenty of plates, glasses, cooking vessels and utensils, dish soap/detergent, towels and paper towels, placemats, etc. There are ceiling fans in all rooms, four window air-conditioners, but the evenings are always cool in the mountains. The two full bathrooms have all the towels needed, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and toilet paper. Living room has a sofa, loveseat, chair and large ottoman, cable flat-screen T.V, wi-fi, and free Netflix account you may use.

Downstairs has a queen bed, and a sitting area with a pullout double bed sofa, an electric fireplace, and a very tiny half bath only suitable for children or very petite adults.

There is a portable crib and highchair, stroller, and baby-gate. Upper deck has a gate on it, too. Please do not leave children unattended. Furnishings are very clean and comfortable, plus we continue to add key pieces for their interesting, eclectic nature, such as the candlestick tables and lamps, a bureau/wardrobe with a surprising feature in one of the drawers, a blast-from-the-past bureau with original sales brochure, a funky framed collection of nutritional trading cards, a cute diorama in the hallway, and more.

About Linda Lazar Curatolo

Linda Lazar Curatolo is a writer and web developer from Detroit who fell in love with Asheville, like everyone else who visits. She achieved her dream of purchasing a vacation home in the Blue Ridge Mountains after visiting for many years.

Linda Lazar Curatolo purchased this house in 2014

Why Linda Lazar Curatolo chose Smoky Mountains

This is the perfect location to absorb all that Asheville has to offer. It's walkable to hiking trails but close to food, art, music, shopping, brewing, history and culture. Even gems such as Biltmore Estate, Black Mountain, Lake Lure, waterfalls and national parks are within a short drive! The Blue Ridge Parkway is around the corner, and the Mountain to Sea Trail which connects with many other trails is within walking distance to the house.

What makes this house unique

Excellent connectivity, for cell phone and internet service. The view of the mountains from the back of the house, and the view of the woods in any direction is beautiful and soothing. Only one neighbor is nearby and unobtrusive to the privacy this neighborhood offers. If you are a hiker, biker or even a birdwatcher this is an amazing location, but not isolated from the city conveniences. You can walk to the trails off the Blue Ridge Parkway, which is the road next to yours, yet drive to top destinations such as the Biltmore Estate, Funky West Asheville, Downtown Asheville and even Black Mountain in minutes. The close proximity to the major expressways, but far enough to enjoy peace and quiet in a wooded setting, is probably one of the best combinations you could hope for in the area.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Linda, just want to say we enjoyed Asheville a lot and not to mention the house.. It was perfect... The house made our trip as we sat and enjoyed playing games and relaxing on the patio. Not one thing i would change there as the house had everything we needed.. Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay at your place and we are already looking at dates to come back.. I will let you know the dates as we would love to stay at your place again..

Great home. Highly recommended!

  • 5 of 5

The home is very clean and well-maintained. It was stocked with everything we needed. All we had to do was show up! There were a lot of thoughtful touches that show the owners really strive to provide a pleasant stay for their guests. Communication was outstanding! The owners responded very quickly, and they checked in with us during the stay by email to see if we had any concerns. The home is very conveniently located to downtown Asheland and the Biltmore, with easy access to the interstate. but quiet enough to enjoy the sounds of nature having your morning coffee on the back deck.

Peaceful mountain home

  • 4 of 5

A nice mountain property with excellent cleanliness, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen and bathrooms. Everything worked as expected. Very clear and concise instructions for checking in and checking out. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful home in a residential neighborhood.

A few downsides to be aware of:

The downstairs toilet is challenging to use since the bathroom is basically in a small closet with a wall in front of the toilet. Small a/c units in each room are noisy and struggle to keep the upstairs cool. The washer and dryer are in a closet in the downstairs bedroom, something to consider for planning bedroom selection.

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback, Chris. We had the air-conditioners serviced after your stay. I am so sorry the timing was off for your stay. As for the small 1/2 bathroom, out of the three bathrooms total, I removed it from the bathroom count on the listing. And finally, that's a good tip for folks to use the washer and dryer during times when someone isn't sleeping since it is in that nook right off the bedroom. Please come back and stay again.

Perfect Command Central for House Hunting Trip

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay in Linda's house as it was perfectly appointed for our needs and provided us with a central location to enjoy the city and explore the area. We would highly recommend this house to anyone planning a visit to Asheville. It was a quiet lovely neighborhood. We were able to hike to the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center from the house without ever getting into the car.

Peaceful retreat close to town and hiking

  • 4 of 5

Lovers Loop was in a great location for our trip to Asheville. Three queen beds were comfortable, but lower level bathroom is cramped/impractical. Home was well stocked with all the basics, nice kitchen appliances, strong wireless. Lots of stairs, so beware if you need a fully accessible space.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to do a review. The little 1/2 bath I inherited is functional but tiny. You are right, but a lot of families stay and they find it useful, so I don't tear it out. It is a dilemma. I hope the other two full-size bathrooms were adequate though.

We had a good experience here.

  • 4 of 5

The house is roomy and airy and has a lot of light (maybe less with spring and summer foliage). It was a bit stuffy at times and we looked for the three air conditioners that were referenced in the literature. Decided they were removed until summer??. That is the only reason I gave it a four and not a five. It was all it was billed to be.

Owner's Response: I appreciate input from all our guests and take it to heart as a chance to learn and enhance their comfort and enjoyment. First, thank you for a very lovely review. Second, you are correct that maintenance scheduling calls for removal and installation of air conditioners of now 4 air conditioners seasonally. But... we will be moving up the install date to be sure every guest is able to adjust the indoor climate to their satisfaction. We normally put them back in in April. My sincere apologies. Please think of us if you visit again. Thank you.
