Beautiful setting and kind neighbors

  • 5 of 5

I was blessed to spend a week in this comfortable cabin on the banks of the Flambeau River. What a gorgeous setting with the fall foliage at its best. I had asked to have a silent time of retreat and the owners were so respectful of that. Yet, I knew that if I needed them they were very near and ready to be of servic e. The cabin has everything that is needed plus a washer and dryer. A wonderful stay and I hope to return.

Great cottage!!

  • 5 of 5

We had an excellent visit on the Flambeau. This cottage was perfect, with plenty of room for everyone. The Gillis family was more than responsive to any of our needs and really made us feel at home during our stay. Their dog Charile was also such a sweet dog who made frequent visits to the flowage front during the day. We loved the fire pit on the water and made use of it every night. We also had some pretty good luck fishing right off the dock. We caught several smallies, a couple pike, and even a snapping turtle during our visit. Overall, a very realxing place for an "unplugged" getaway!!!

Alla and Sergey Bondarenko, and Chester the Puppy

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation, and would like to thank Eileen, and Jerry, and Jason, and especially sweet Charley, who made it really nice, calm, and comfortable. Beautiful nature, soft light mornings, calm evenings, fishing ... cozy little house - we liked that all. Our dog was happy running unleashed, swimming in the river.. playing with his big friend. Very nice people and place. Thank you once again!

PEACE IN THE COUNTRY

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our simple but comfortable Little House on the Flambeau and our hosts, Eileen, Jerry and son Jason. They bent over backwards to make our stay comfortable. Our favorite part was the fireplace and waking up overlooking the lake as well as being in the country away from much traffic. We liked having a washing machine and dryer as well. Such a nice stay even with the rain.

Great!

  • 5 of 5

Recently stayed at the house and I can't sat enough about how much we enjoyed it. It is exactly as described. Has a beautiful lakefront setting. Started every day with a fire, coffee and watching the sun rise. Jerry and Eileen and son Jason could not be nicer. Seriously they couldn't be. My daughter and I are already planning our fall trip for next year. Do yourself a favor if you are looking for somewhere to unwind and enjoy the quiet...stay here.

Quiet Weekend

  • 5 of 5

Perfect weekend for the two of us to get away and enjoy some fishing in a quiet setting. We got very lucky with the beautiful weather and managed our way through the onslaught of mosquitoes that is plaguing Wisconsin this year.

The pictures and description are very accurate, just a simple cabin made for sleeping. Nothing special about the furnishings but was nice to have everything needed for cooking in the kitchen, fresh sheets and towels, a fan to put in the window, firewood available, comfortable beds. We never had to use the window A/C.

No cell service but that's the point right? Town was only 10-15 minutes away for supplies.

Easy to find as there are signs pointing to the other businesses. There is a small campground with a bar/grill within walking distance - they didn't have food served the night we popped in but had cold beer.

The owners are next door and were willing and able to help with any concerns we had. They checked on us enough to feel taken care of but not so much as to be annoying. Their dog is delightful!

The canoe and paddle boat were in nice condition with life vests provided. The water was very calm with little traffic and some little honey-holes full of fish if you work the shoreline long enough. We spent a lot of time on the dock - and even caught a nice 17" small mouth bass from there.

Overall, a nice little getaway cabin to enjoy the outdoors. Very pleased.
