About the property

Beautiful 3BR, 3BA ranch home on five acres

Our family homeplace will provide you a great vacation escape. Bring your boat and dock it on the beautiful, clean Satilla River. Swim in the heated pool or fish in the pond. You can even play a few sets of tennis on your own private court or set up a family tournament playing ping-pong! We've recently done some remodeling to make this picturesque home more convenient.

Woodbine is a small Southern coastal Georgia town within an easy drive of Brunswick, GA, St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, and Amelia Island, FL to the south. There's a cafe uptown that serves lunch on weekdays and a grocery store to meet your needs. The big city of Jacksonville is 45 minutes away, and the airport there is even closer.

This home is ideal for those who want peace and serenity with river access.

Our outdoors campfire area will prove fun on cooler evenings. Roast weenies and marshmallows, sit around the fire, and swap stories. Create memories at Cypress Point!

About Joel and Henry Williams, Camden Williams, LLC

Henry Williams, Sr. and his wife Bebe built their home--Cypress Point--outside of Woodbine, GA in 1959. Current owners are brothers Joel and Henry Williams. The brothers participated in land-clearing, pond-digging, and some brick cleaning during the building. Bricks for the house came from the old Oglethorpe Hotel in Brunswick. It's a family joke that Henry, Sr. was a hard taskmaster, paying the boys 'a penny a brick' for knocking the old mortar off the bricks. In reality, the boys cleaned very few bricks, but the story persists. Joel and Henry sincerely hope that you enjoy your stay at Cypress Point with all its Southern charm and beauty!

Joel and Henry Williams, Camden Williams, LLC purchased this house in 1959

Notes:
This home was built on the site where the ferry for the Old Dixie Highway crossed the Satilla River. The property includes a fixed and floating dock on the River. If you bring a boat, it can be tied to the floating dock. There is a high-tide launching ramp on the property, and a mile away the city has a launching ramp which works on all tides. Bricks for the home exterior came from the old Oglethorpe Hotel in downtown Brunswick.

Beauty beyond measure!

  • 5 of 5

I've rented through VRBO the past ten years. This property is by far the best property I have ever rented. The property is massive. The lake, the river, the tennis courts, the swimming pool, the bicycles, so much to offer for everyone. There is a walking or biking trail about a half mile from the house. It is simply amazing! If you are into the "rock painting" and hiding, you need to join the Rockin In The Bine group on Facbook. Someone hides new rocks on the trail and athletic park everyday.

Joel is an amazing host that lives next door. He never bothers you. But is only a moment away if you have an issue or need something.

Oh yea, I forgot the golf cart and fishing. You will have the time of your life!!

Woodbine, GA Fun

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful property, quaint, old fashioned house in great shape with Awesome covered pool, tennis court, ping pong and even a porch on the other side of the house, with wicker furniture, if you want to quietly read! Kitchen has everything you need, rooms are spacious, 8 can eat comfortably at dining room table and a huge wrap around couch for everyone to watch tv! You can even ride a golf cart into town. LOVED it!

Wonderful rental on Satilla River

  • 5 of 5

My 3 brothers and I spent 3 nights in early June in this expansive yet quaint brick ranch on a very large lot (5 acres? maybe), well maintained and with stately longleaf pine and live oaks. There was a beautiful small pond on the property and dock on the Satilla river (a fresh to brackish tidal river). One of the owners Joel, is nearby and helpful but not intrusive. He brought us some delicious sweetcorn from his garden! Our only complaint with the house was the water which seemed a bit too chlorinated but we used bottled water for drinking and coffee/tea which solved the problem. Woodbine is small and quiet but populated with pleasant folk that you can see and chat with while riding one of the rental bikes. To get a more coastal feel or to do "touristy" things, you'll need to go to Brunswick, St. Simons, or Jekyll which we did. These nice destinations are relatively close being about 30-45 minutes way. Overall, we had a superb time and the location is excellent for peace and quite if that's what you're into. We'll almost certainly return in the future.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the kind words, Shane. You and Brothers were a hoot to be around. Just a bit of explanation on the water. We put our well water through a couple of processes to make it good. At the advice of the water purification experts I place one of the chlorine tablets from the pool supplies in the 50 gallon holding tank. Sounds like I should use less. Thanks for the constructive remarks and I look forward to seeing you back here soon!

WOW...NICE!

  • 5 of 5

Southern hospitality out of this world, charming, relaxing, breathtaking, fun and peaceful.

We had a wonderful time and it was so nice. Joel was very friendly and courteous. There is a lot of history in the home and property. It was very clean and well kept. The fishing was nice and just a note to another guest the fish in the river are catfish so if you decide to fish cut some bait for red blood to help draw in the catfish (according to Joel). In the pond at the back of the home there is a baby alligator so don't feed it....Overall, FUN!

There were only two issues that we saw as property owners ourselves and that was the fact there is a leak the front faucet in front of the home near the front door that is dripping, and the old red hand well pump there is a running leak of water. In addition, the master bedroom with the sunroom the doors do not lock and the screen on the sunroom doesn't close properly. Just small things to know as a property owner....Other than that it was so nice and we could not have asked for a better place to spend R & R.....

Thank you again,

Dr. K.

Owner's Response: Thanks much, Dr. K. Also, thank you for mentioning the items that need attention. The joys of home ownership! Always something that can be done better. One note about the red hand pump. The natural pressure from the well pushes a small trickle of water. The good think is the pump does not have to be primed. We actually put that pump there as a novelty for people who might not have seen how it was done in the old days. Thanks again for the kind remarks and hope to see you again soon! Joel.

Beautiful

  • 5 of 5

PERFECT get away spot! I had read all the reviews and was hoping for a really nice place to unwind. It is just so much more. My kiddos ages 28-6 said this was their favorite place to vacation so far.

There is nothing needed that has not been provided - (well your food and sunscreen).

Just 30-40 minutes away from the beach. Amelia Island was not crowded in the evenings and public access was easy to find.

We hope to go back next spring.
