Charming comfortable property in a great location
We had a wonderful week here. The house is quite old and down a bit of a bumpy track but is absolutely lovely with plenty of seating and eating areas for relaxing and a lovely pool. The garden is rustic with lavender, fig, walnut and plum trees and a lovely view down to the lights of St Tropez, which was beautiful at night. A peacock lives in the garden next door. The owner, Patrick was charming and helpful and explained the history of the house to us. We had a very relaxing week and the surrounding area is wonderful. St Tropez, Grimaud and Port Grimaud and the beach at la croix Valmer are all favourites of ours. La Garde Freinet is about a 10 minute drive away with a couple of boulangeries and small shop but there are plenty of large supermarches in the surrounding area. Would happily return.
Happy you loved it.
See you next year
Amazing Place, Amazing Views, Amazing Location
Visiting France with 8 friends and found this great find close to one of my favorite villages..La Garde Freinet. The views were amazing and the house was rustic enough to give you the real provincial feel but with just the right amenities. We spent the first half of our trip in Paris and this was a great way to end our trip with the amazing views, privacy, pool, and comfortable home. Highly recommend this home and it's great location to so many beautiful parts of France!
Making visitors happy is our purpose.
Home away from home.
We ( my husband, 2 daughters - ages 10 and 7 and myself) absolutely LOVED this house. It was even better than we imagined it would be. The house was very comfortable and very well equipped ( we own restaurants and like to cook and the kitchen had EVERYTHING needed to cook with). I can't think of a single thing that we needed through out the house that wasn't there already. We rent homes in different parts of Europe every year and this home is at the very top of our list. The wild peacocks roaming the yard for the week were a very unexpected surprise for us! They became the childrens new friends for the week. The heated pool was fantastic! We were looking to rent a house that had the old Provence look and feel, that was private, clean, had a pool ( this one was even heated), and a good location. This home was everything we were looking for. The location is great. It is very easy and quick to drive to the beaches. St. Tropez is only about a 20 minute drive or the small village of La Garde Freinet is a 5 minute drive from the house. The house is in a good area to do some walking hiking ( around the house you'll walk through olive trees, chestnut trees, vineyards, wild rosemary, wild lavender and mint growing all around). The view from the house is amazing, you can see the sea, St.Tropez and surrounding mountains. Patrick, the owner of this house was a pleasure renting from. If we had any questions he was happy to help and very prompt at getting back to us. Before we left for our trip he even sent us an e-mail informing us about the yearly Chestnut Festival that would be happening in La Garde Freinet while we were there. You can tell he really loves this house and wants people to feel welcome when they are staying in his home. We hope to go back one day soon and would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxed vacation in the south of France. Sincerely, Jody Reilly, Connecticut, USA
Wonderful quiet location, great for kids
The house is spacious and well equipped. There is a great sense of peace around the property, the only sounds coming from singing birds and of course the wild peacock, who greeted us on the first day! Our children (aged 8 & 6) loved playing in the large outside space and never once asked to watch TV! It's 5 min drive to the village, with plenty of walks & bike trails nearby and despite it's rural setting, the coast & St Tropez are 20 min way. We would love to return.
