Overview

About the property

1500 sq. ft 3-bedroom cedar cabin on 4 acres in rural northeast Pennsylvania

Memorial Day is still available! Bring your well-behaved and housebroken dog as well.

Discover the very beautiful Endless Mountain region in Northeastern PA. Situated above the Poconos, you will find quaint country towns, antique shops, art, music, historical sites, scenic country roads, long lazy rivers, game lands, trout streams and a plethora of restaurants.

The cabin is 1500 sq. ft. located on four very private acres situated on a bluff situated above a thickly wooded, country lane. While only 7 miles from historic Susquehanna and just a few minutes from the state highway, you will feel miles away from civilization.

This well-appointed cabin features a fully equipped kitchen with oven, stove, refrigerator, blender, toaster, microwave, crock pot, and all of the plates, glasses, pots and pans you will need. Coffee drinkers can choose between the Keurig and the traditional coffee maker. The living room features a nice wood burning fireplace, flat screen television (with a ROKU and about 20 local channels - no cable) and plenty of comfy seating. There are two large bedrooms upstairs with a total of 5 twin beds, 1 double bed, and futons for the kids. There are two full bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. There is a smaller bedroom downstairs that has been converted to a sitting lounge with games, books, karaoke and bar supplies. Set up your laptop there and take advantage of the flat screen monitor and fast, free Wi-Fi.

A large porch wraps around two sides of the cabin - the front is covered for rainy days while the side has an outdoor table for dining under the stars. Roast some marshmallows over the fire pit, play a leisurely game of badminton, throw some horseshoes or simply relax out on the lawn chairs and take in the views. Nights are typically clear and cool for stargazing through the cabin’s telescope.

Guests have four full acres to roam on the property, as well country roads for biking (there are two bikes for your use), trails for hiking (Florence Shelley Nature Preserve, Salt Springs State Park, D&H Rail Trail), nearby state game lands, trout streams, golf courses, and much more. The woods feature cherry, maple, ash and soaring pine trees as well as a wide variety of animals including deer, fox, turkey, and black bear. Like to fish? There are trout streams nearby and a few public access lakes. Have a canoe or kayak? The Susquehanna River is down the road. There are State Game Lands throughout Susquehanna County for deer and turkey hunting in the fall. It is also near the brand new Aaronic Priesthood Restoration Site.

Guests do not need to meet with the owner to check in. There is a keypad on the door. No key exchange needed. Directions provided upon booking.

Please note that we do not provide sheets and towels, in that there is no washer/dryer on site. However, there are plenty of comforters, blankets, and pillows provided. There are laundromats nearby for longer term guests.

The heat is electric baseboard and controlled in each room through a wall thermostat.

This beautiful property is just waiting for your arrival! We respectfully request that you treat this property with the same respect that you do your own home. Please clean up as needed, take garbage, and leave the furnishings as they were upon check-in. Please note that we do have the cabin professionally cleaned after each rental. Be careful with the fire pit. It can get very windy! Food and garbage needs to be store inside to keep the wildlife away (bears are quickly drawn to outdoor trash). Sheets, towels, and pillowcases must be provided by the guest. Well-behaved dogs are ok but a flat pet fee applies, No cats, please.

Please note: Hunting is NOT permitted on the property.

##We do not provide firewood. Wood can be purchased locally##

cozy and fantastic cabin for a family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the cabin. We were skiing at Elk Mountain. The way to the cabin was always an own adventure, to drive through the forest and see all the deers around. The house was amazing, full equipment, clean and a cozy fire place. The friendly owners provided everything to feel homely. The kids loved to slide down the hills and play the games in the house. I highly recommend for each season.

Cozy, Private, and everything we needed!

  • 5 of 5

Upon entering the driveway, the cabin sits back fairly far off a dirt/stone road and is hidden by a patch of trees. We pulled up the driveway all the way to the side of the cabin. Upon entering, it was clean, bright-there were many windows, and was very cozy and modern. The pictures didn't do this cabin justice. We loved the fact that there were two full bathrooms-one upstairs and one down. Hot water was super hot and cold water was super cold. All appliances worked well-refrigerator, stove, Keurig, toaster, microwave, etc. Kitchen had everything including a colander and all dishes, pots, pans, and plates, with glasses and cups. TV had about 20 local channels and was wall mounted and could be turned. There was a roku. Downstairs, in the living room, there was a huge couch that was a sleeper sofa as well and a smaller sofa that was a twin size sleeper sofa. Three adults could sleep in that area. The game room also had a couch/sleeper sofa that two adults could sleep on. Our teen daughters did sleep downstairs some nights just for something different and mattresses on sofas were clean and had mattress protectors on them. They said they were comfortable and the mattresses seemed thicker and fluffier than you find in hotel sleepers. The master bedroom had the full size bed that was firm and comfortable and had no sagging or "bumps" in the mattress. There were numerous fans that we put in the windows for that room and the cabin tended to stay cool even though it was 87 degrees. There were also two twin beds in there, but we didn't use those. In the other bedroom, there were four twin beds and our girls said they were comfortable. There was an air conditioner in the window in that room and a TV. There were hairdryers available as well as toilet paper, soap, trash bags, vacuums, cleaning products and too much to list. We never ate in the kitchen. We ate all meals outside on the side/back porch on the plastic patio furniture and used the propane grill. Propane was provided and an extra tank was available. We sat on the front porch on the furniture that was cushioned and comfortable and sturdy. Toilets flushed well. Water pressure was excellent. When we entered, I don't know what I was expecting but I expected it to be musty smelling due to it being a cabin but it was not. It smelled clean and fresh and was airy. Fire pit was great and we roasted marshmallows and had some great family time. Take food=grocery stores expensive.

Serene mountainside cabin stocked with games, books, a telescope, karaoke machine, large gas grill, charcoal grill, and more. Situated on four acres ready for exploring: use the animal track/tree/bird guides to identify the abundant local wildlife. A large porch wraps around two sides of the cabin. The front porch is covered for those rainy days while the side has space to dine outside. Enjoy the campfire ring behind the cabin and roast s'mores. The beauty is that it is NOT near "civilization" - it's ensconced in nature - great for quality family or couple time, and perfect for small retreats. The new Aronic Priesthood Restoration Site is a few miles away.
