We have just returned from staying here, the photos really don't do it justice, it is beautiful and so peaceful. The pool made our holiday and even on a hot day it didn't get too hot in there as you can open all the doors. The kids loved an evening swim with the disco lights on and music. The pool table was a brilliant addition as was the table tennis. Ideally situated for day trips, Bergerac was only 25 mins away. We found we had to pre book tables at local restaurants as they do get very busy. Thierry and Martine were lovely hosts, on hand to contact if you needed them and very quick to respond to any queries but left you to enjoy your holiday in the most beautiful surroundings.

This is a truly stunning home in a glorious location. Thierry and Martine are wonderful hosts. The swimming pool with lighting and a terrific sound system was a godsend in the very hot weather. The property is peaceful, quiet and a really lovely place to relax and enjoy nature. Highly recommend.

Wow!

Honestly, I cannot rate our stay highly enough. As others have said, this is a very special place and Martine and Thierry are the loveliest people. They have worked hard to create an outstanding place to stay. The location is beautiful, with amazing far-reaching views and complete peace and quiet. It is definitely somewhere to get away from it all, which we were looking for, but the nearby town of Lalinde has everything, including a supermarket, great Thursday market and some lovely bakeries. The village itself is also very pretty. There are plenty of activitites to do not far from the property if you are inclined to go out, but we actually found it quite hard to leave, everything is so lovely. The pool and pool house are outstanding. Having a large, super clean indoor pool is a definite bonus. No sunscreen needed, no insects in it and everything you could possibly need to enjoy it right there. And you can connect your playlist, and there are disco lights.....we loved it as much as our daughters! At night you can see lots of stars as there is so little light pollution. It was exceptionally hot when we were there but there is some aircon and fans and insect screens on all the upstairs windows so you can safely leave them open at night. The house is spotless and has everything you could need for your stay. Everything is done to an extremely high standard and Thierry and Martine are nearby (but also extremely discreet) if needed. It is also eco friendly. Perfect!

Un séjour formidable !

Quel domaine magnifique, au calme, rien que pour nous ! Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Martine et Thierry sont très sympathiques et aux petits soins pour leur hôtes ! La maison est très agréable à vivre, bien entretenue et propre. Les enfants n'ont pas manqué d'occupations avec les poules, le babyfoot, le billard, ping-pong, basket, foot et bien sûr la superbe piscine couverte et chauffée ! A réserver les yeux fermés ! A very special property

We highly recommend this property which is clean and very well maintained by Martine and Thierry, with plenty of shade. We have rented properties for holidays throughout Europe over very many years and this property lies in the very top tier. We spent two weeks in June and found it well equipped, very comfortable, including the large and very comfortable double bed. There is a large shower unit with a very good power shower. It lies in 37 acres and is extremely peaceful, we enjoyed listening to the birds (even a Hoopoe), the gentle humming of bees and seeing so many butterflies. The pool is excellent and extremely well maintained. Thierry always contacted us to ask when it was convenient to check the pool water condition and he was also very helpful after a thunderstorm when the electric failed and visited very quickly to restore power. The pool is heated to 30C degrees and is equipped with a sound/lighting system so you can play your music via Bluetooth whilst swimming which we loved. The pool area can be locked for those visiting with small children. The Intermarché Supermarket in nearby Lalinde covers all daily needs including fuel, and the Bergerac Hypermarket is easy to reach. We recommend the restaurant La Tour des Vents (there is a Brasserie too), it’s popular so you need to book. This special property lies in a beautiful area and the peace and solitude provided the relaxation we needed. Very many thanks to Martine and Thierry - we would love to return.

An ideal place for a holiday with relatives

Great house and perfectly made pool house and pool that is heated and maintained with salt and chlorine. Extremely welcoming holiday home, just like the owners who are both kind and available and also have ensured you have the complete use of a very large property with sevral hctars of private grounds.

Memorable Holiday

A beautifully restored Perigord property in a wonderful setting. THe pool house with its heated swimming pool and every facility is amazing and we spent many happy late afternoons/early evenings here after returning from visits to the spectacular Dordogne/Lot countryside. Martine and Thierry were lovely hosts and were rightly proud of all that they were able to provide us with in their holiday home. We had a most memorable holiday and would love to return

An absolute must!

The house is in a stunning location, nicely positioned on a hill and contains enough facilities to fully enjoy and relax for a fortnight. Also a top base to discover all kinds of sights in the area. The indoor pool has its own place a little further in the garden and is excellent! As a family we have made full use of it every day. The house has a nice homely atmosphere and the beds sleep well. Our teenagers also liked the tabletennis table, the basketbalring and the pooltable. Finally, Thierry and Martine are very agreeable hosts with their generous hospitality. Moreover, they were discreet and, if necessary, easy to reach. We would love to come back!

Fantastic Break

We spent 10 days in October/ November relaxing, enjoying the pool, wildlife ( Deer in the garden in the morning and bats flying around early evening), playing pool, table tennis and boules. A wonderful holiday. The property was very clean, the hosts very helpful and the area was beautiful to explore. We will be back

Très belle location saisonnière Idéalement situé en haut d une colline...... Calme et vue magnifique Très grand terrain en lisière de forêt. Maison avec tout le confort nécessaire dont 1 billard Le bâtiment piscine annexe est juste époustouflant :grande avec installation son et image très appréciée notamment le soir. An amazing place!

We spent a week here at the end of July and we are already thinking of coming back. What we like in our rentals is a cozy place, far from the hustle a bustle, after a day of exploring the new surroundings. This house was just that. It's perfectly located to explore Dordogne: we did canoe trips, bike rides, visited numerous Bastides and their local markets and made it to Sarlat. I cannot say enough about the pool - our daughter would move in if she could. The whole propoerty is stunning and peaceful and not a neighbour in sight:-) The house itself is well equipped with everything one my need for a comfy stay: we had all our meals on the terrace and made full use of a newly installed plancha! If you are travelling with kids, it's a paradise as there is so much space and all the toys and games you can imagine a basketball hoop, ping-pong table, pool table, board games - we did not use much as we would not leave the pool, but it's all there. The owners were kind and welcoming. All our emails were promptly answered and we got ideas and recommendations of what to do where to go. We loved Dordogne, we loved this place, we hope to come back. Thank you for a great stay!

Magnifique domaine à recommander sans une hésitation

Excellent séjour dans une belle propriété restaurée dans les règles de l'art : confort moderne et authenticité des pierres. Le calme et la nature sans l'isolement, toutes les vues sont parfaites : la piscine couverte, la terrasse sous le vieux chêne, et la nuit venue, un océan d’étoiles... un écran de rêve bien caché

une grande villa, une grande piscine couverte (le toit est fixe mais possible d'ouvrir 3 côtés....attention aux insectes!)., un immense jardin suffisamment plat pour permettre tous les jeux... et deux vieux chevaux. de plus, les propriétaires possèdent un énorme chien noir silencieux, joueur et inoffensif. Les propriétaires sont charmants et attentionnés. L'avantage de la campagne au calme a des inconvénients: route difficile d'accès, beaucoup d'insectes et un grand arbre qui donne (trop) d'ombre au salon et dans une des chambres. Je n'ai jamais vu une maison avec autant de portes vers l'extérieur. on planifie déjà d'y retourner en 2021.

The perfect retreat!

We had such a wonderful week at this gorgeous property and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting peace and privacy with some luxury thrown in. The owners were so attentive and professional from the moment of booking right until the morning of our departure when they came to wave us off. Mme. Payenchet was so helpful with all my questions when I made the booking and when we arrived at the house we were greeted by a very friendly M. Payenchet and their charming son who both greeted us warmly and took time to show us all the unique features that this property has to offer (they even had cold drink waiting for us which was very welcome after our long journey). The house is a testament to the hard work of this family who have lovingly restored it to create something homely and traditional but where everything works well. Our teenage children were both impressed with their themed large bedrooms and it was clear that lots of love had gone into creating this home. I have to mention how comfortable the King Sized beds were - very rare when you book a house! The games kept us all amused all week and there were many competitions of Pool, Petanque and Table Tennis. You can never be bored here. The setting is simply gorgeous, you are up high with no neighbours at all, totally surrounded by your own fields and woodland. Sitting out under the stars with a glass of wine in the evening was heavenly, absolutely no noise at all apart from the crickets! I have to mention the indoor swimming pool which we used every day. It was so clean and everything had been well thought out. No expense had been spared to make the building a place where you could go for even more calm, there is even a sound system which you can connect your device to in order to play your own music and so we enjoyed playing meditation music while we swam. We were totally left alone for the week apart from when M.Payenchet asked to check on the pool temperature for our comfort and only then by checking by text first if it was convenient. We have stayed in France many times but I can honestly say I have never before met such charming and respectful hosts - I cannot wait to return. Thank you M. et Mme. Payenchet!!!

Excellent séjour !

Le gite est très confortable et très bien équipé. Nous avons très bien profité de la piscine, et ce malgré un temps incertain. Tout est conforme par rapport aux photos. L'environnement est très calme, nous avons passé un excellent séjour !
