Our peaceful location and great view won't disappoint!
We are a local couple who live only a mile away from this property. We love this area so much we decided to offer travelers our little slice of paradise! Having spent my teenage years vacationing here, we just had to buy the house when my parents retired to Florida. It still holds lots of fond memories and is the perfect place for you to make your own great memories. With ALL the benefits of the lake (skiing, boating, fishing, etc.) our property is also great for just a getaway. We enjoy a leisurely afternoon on the deck looking at the lake and reading our favorite novels! For us privacy is a must and you get it all with our property. The brand new kitchen means you can entertain your friends or make a nice meal for yourself. Thank you for choosing our property and we hope you enjoy!!!
The cabin was terrific. Waking up
To the sounds of birds was really wonderful. We caught a brief view of the bald eagle through binoculars and wished we had a book on birds to identify the rest we saw. I had looked at many cottages before booking this one and this had the best view by far. There were lots of things to do, even in March, but Often we had an hour+ drive. Wish the cottage had washer and dryer and the tap/shower needs a bit of work as it was a bit of a trick to get the water to come out of the shower head once it was running in the tub. Josh was great and showed up to check on us once! Thank you so much for opening your home! We truly enjoyed our stay and can only imagine how amazing it must be in summer!
The lake house sits up from the shores of Lake Cumberland and provides a magnificent view. The house is very clean and nicely decorated with a nautical theme. It is not cluttered and has lots of closet space with lights. Somerset is a great location. We drove to Cumberland Falls, the Big Fork Railway in Stearns, Conley Bottom Marina and Lake Cumberland State Park in Jamestown. All are nice day trips. Also, Hwy 27 has many places to eat. Two of our favorites are Mellow Mushroom and Guthrie's.
The photos and information provided by the owners are completely accurate. Do not hesitate to stay here, if you are looking for a peaceful, quiet vacation.
My family of 4 was looking for a rental property on Lake Cumberland and chose this one after looking at many, many different properties. The unit was exactly as advertised and exceeded our expectations. The cabin was very clean and the view is beautiful. The master bedroom had plenty of closet space and my kids loved the bunk beds in the 2nd bedroom. The kitchen is completely stocked with dishes, silverware, utensils, etc. And the deck was perfect for barbecuing and eating outside.
The first day of our trip we rented a pontoon boat from Lee's Ford Marina and spent an enjoyable day on the water. The 2nd day we went to Mammoth Cave. It's a bit of a hike at about an hour and 45 minute drive, but was very well worth it. And the 3rd day we just laid around the cabin and enjoyed a day of reading and relaxing (that's what vacations are for, right? :) ). It's about a 15 minute drive into town, which has pretty much everything you'd need including a Kroger to stock the cabin with food when you arrive.
I highly recommend this property and we'll definitely return in the future.
Break away weekend for us four girls who traveled from South Bend Indiana, Ohio and Tenn. to meet the rest of our group. The cabin was wonderful and very clean. The huge wrap around deck was great to grill and relax. There is so much to do in the area. We hiked 3 miles and took a 5 mile canoe trip. There's antique shops close by, splash pads not to far away. Very private place and the owners were great. I have rented six homes with VRBO and all have been 5 star places.
The owners have taken care of everything. All you need to do is get there and relax. We will definitely be back. Thanks Josh for being so attentive and responsive to our texts and special needs. 😊
