I have a passion for the pictorial expression of all periods, for the colour, light, and Provencal art of living. It's from this colourful and picturesque setting that I draw my inspiration. Close to our renters and caring for their well-being, Michel and I do everything we can in total discretion so that our renters feel at home in our villa during their stay.
Monique purchased this villa in 1999
We chose Avignon for the sweetness and the sun. Keen on architecture and decoration, I spent hundreds of hours for this villa to have a soul so that the renters spend unforgettable holidays here. You will find everything you need. The house is very personalized, perfectly equipped and maintained. It is a nice place to live in. We put it at the disposal of respectful people who we can trust.
What we love: Avignon is a wonderful city with history and culture, very pleasant to live in. We have been happily leaving here for 18 years: we like to go to the scented market hall in the morning, the strolls in the city lively of out of the time depending on the moment, the small magical streets with surprising names (Cat's street, Wheelbarrow street,...) and the charming old houses. The architecture, the human size, the beautiful Palais des Papes, the Jardin des Doms with a gorgeous view of the valley, the backstreets were time seems to have stopped, the Ceccano multimedia library, the museums, the cinemas, the restaurants, the Place des Corps Saints, the Ile de la Barthelasse...
The student atmosphere with their outings, having a drink on a sunny bar terrace, savouring a tomato with olive oil and basilica in a shaded bistro-bar. Access the culture and the huge scene that welcomes the largest festival of in & off theatre in the world. More and more dynamic, a good system of bus until 0.30 a.m., 3 SNCF train stations, the TGV train station, the central train station, and the south station for cars. One international airport. The Provence that we love to rediscover during each spring. The weather, the Mediterranean sun, the Provencal accent that reminds us that we are indeed in the South.

The location is extraordinary, in the heart of one of the most beautiful sites. Avignon between scrubland and vines. The Provencal countryside is beautiful and the villages are picturesque. Close to the beach, the neighbouring cities of Nîmes, Marseille and Montpellier, and not far from the Alps. The villa is located in a residential area, 5 min from downtown Avignon. We are experienced in the rental business and we look after our property all year.
An exceptional view in the scrubland
A quality property with large and bright spaces
Equipment and quality bedding
A pool equipped with a submerged beach for the children
The location is perfect for family holidays.
Enjoy a wonderful view as if you were alone in the world, lying on a deck chair with pine trees and scrubland as a backdrop. Take the time to rest around the pool, have your lunch under the shade of the terrace, facing the pine wood. Our hen, Roussine, lives at the back of the garden, far from the house, and will offer you an egg everyday during your stay. Enjoy the colourful works exposed in our villa. My work is also exposed in our city.
I just returned from a perfect week at Villa Monflour. The villa and our hosts were perfect.
Villa Monflour is perfectly positioned just 15 minutes from Avignon and 10 minutes from the beautiful village of Villeneuve with it's enchanting street cafes and lovely restaurants . A great spot for exploring the region too.
Our host Monica is an accomplished artist and wine expert and was super helpful with anything that we needed during our stay. A spotlessly clean villa with a beautiful and well maintained pool.
We are a pretty demanding group of travellers and the fact that we are already planning our next stay says it all !
We recently returned from a wonderful week in this beautiful home. We spent the week with our adult children and their spouses and everyone agreed that we could not have made a better choice. The home is well-equipped and at the end of a quiet street. We enjoyed the ease with which we were able to take day trips to the lovely towns in Provence and return in the afternoon to enjoy the perfect weather and beautiful pool and grounds. The landscaping around Monique's special oasis was park like. She was extremely accommodating and kind. There were fresh fruits and vegetables available upon our arrival. The fresh eggs from the resident hen were delicious. The home is close to restaurants and grocery stores. The charcuterie in Les Angles hand cut steaks for us one night for dinner. The most memorable part of our trip was the owner. She did everything she could to make sure that we had a wonderful trip.....and we certainly did. It was a week that we will never forget. Thank you, Monique.
Just returned from this wonderful villa where I spent a week with 6 members of my family including a 2 year old. We had the most wonderful time and would happily go back again.
The owners are just delightful. They were staying in the annex during our stay and were warm and welcoming and couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable but they were also discrete and let us make the space our own. We arrived to a fridge with the essentials including a bottle of the local rose wine and one morning we awoke to a beautiful basket of fresh bread and pastries with a kind note which was exactly what we needed (the morning after the night before).
The villa is ornately and beautifully decorated and still very homely. It was also spotless and aeverything looked brand new. Great kitchen with everything you need (including nespresso machine). The property has lots of different spaces to hang out. The TV is enormous which went down well with the world cup enthusiasts. There's a barbeque at the back and dining tables where it's nice to eat at midday out of the sun. In the evening we used the dining table at the front (the pool side).
The pool now has a fence around it for safety. It was perfect for having a toddler. About 15% of the pool is very shallow (and flat not sloping) which was also great for a toddler to play easily and safely.
The villa is at the end of a road and has other houses nearby but because of the trees and shrubs it feels like a little oasis of calm. In mid June the flowers were all in bloom. There's a large supermarket a short drive or 10-15m walk away and at the back of the house a forest with trails for walking or running.
Couldn't recommend this villa highly enough.

The Painters' Trail
The city of Angles and its village. Strolling in the backstreets, you will follow the memory of the XXth century painters who drew their inspiration from there. At the end of the XIXth century and at the beginning of the XXth century, this was the hangout of the naturalist painters from the Fine Arts School of Avignon. Their leader was Pierre Grivolas. Many internationally renowned painters like Derain, Chabaud, Masereel installed their easels on this appealing site. Attracted by a bright and sunny crystal clear sky, this generation of artists created many paintings in this particularly evocative setting.
