Welcome to Amery Alcove, a peaceful lakefront home with all the amenities. The bedrooms are large, with 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs. Enjoy views of the lake from most of the rooms in the house. Beautiful landscaping and tall pines surround the home. A huge slate deck runs the entire width of the house and along one side. Relax on the deck and enjoy a meal from the natural gas grill or just a cup of coffee. Just down the street is the entrance to the 14-mile-long Stower Seven Lakes recreational trail, for walking or biking. A few minutes away is the Cattail State Trail. Downtown Amery is a ten-minute walk or a 3 minute drive away, should you need anything. Amery is a charming town with 2 grocery stores, numerous restaurants and cafes, an ice cream and coffee shop, a one-screen theater with old movies and live performances, antique shops, crafting supply stores, etc.

My husband and I live in eastern Minnesota with our 3 young children. We were searching for three years for a place that would give our family, friends, and particularly our children that 'up north at the cabin' experience that we experienced growing up. We also wanted a place that was warm and welcoming to vacationers and crafters. We discovered the beautiful lake country of western Wisconsin and began to focus our search there. We found this property and knew it was perfect before we even went inside.
Natalie Knutson purchased this house in 2014
We fell in love with the town of Amery - the people are friendly and welcoming. We like how close this property is to town, yet how quiet and peaceful the neighborhood is. We love to get out on the recreational trails, go out in the kayak or canoe, fish off the dock, and enjoy the bonfire sitting in the two person swing.
The lake is shallow and our kids love to treasure hunt for snails, rocks, and watch the sunnies. One thing that drew us to this lake was the excellent clarity relative to most of the other lakes in the area. It is a great swimming and recreational lake.
Strange property, felt very uncomfortable being in someone's home basically. Lots of personal belongings in the home. Was told it was easy access to beach when in reality it is a small rocky ledge instead of a beach and the space they have is covered in weeds.
Beautiful home for our annual sisters weekend. The six of us especially enjoyed the spacious kitchen, lounging on the deck and crafting on all the tables in the large lower level. The walk to town was the perfect distance for casual exercise on the state trails. Looking forward to staying here again and exploring the town more. I would highly recommend this home to family and friends as long as they don't try to book the weekend we would want to stay. :)
We stayed in this house the week of Thanksgiving while visiting relatives in the area. The house was so well appointed and everything was very clean. The beds were very comfortable and there were even toys for the kids to play with. Will definitely stay there again in the future!
Our stay was wonderful. The house is comfortable, clean and welcoming. We had a enjoyable time relaxing
and the fall weather was beautiful. Everything from booking, corresponding with owner and check out was easy.
The house felt like a home.
I cannot say enough positive things about this rental home. Everything was perfect. The home has all of the amenities that we could hope for. From the keurig, to the booster chair, crock pot, electricity by the dock, inner tube, kayaks and canoe and enough beds for everyone, including the perfect little toddler bed. The family room in the basement was a wonderful escape on hot days and provided the extra space we needed to spread out. The home is well represented by the photos. This is the first home we have ever rented that had a paved walkway to the dock. What a treat that was for our canvas shoes.
The walk to town was beautiful, and just the right distance to get some exercise, and we were properly rewarded with ice cream at the DQ at the end of our journey. It seemed like everywhere we turned there was a beautiful "photo op."
And, even though we were warned, we did venture into South Twin Lake, because it had the nicely groomed sand beach. We discovered that swimmer's itch was prevalent and inevitable, but oddly, only irritated half of our crew. Some people are more susceptible to reacting to it's bite.
We hope to return to this rental in the future.
Your home was the perfect place for our group of 10 women to celebrate our 23rd fall getaway. We enjoyed the large kitchen and dining room area and the patio! We happen to plan our weekend the same weekend as the Amery Fall Festival so we got to enjoy all the festivities that were happening in town also. We found the house to be nice and clean and with ample places for everyone to sleep. I would recommend it for any group! Thanks!
