We have decided to share our awesome rustic cabin, as it is a relaxing getaway in a beautiful setting. You will feel like you are miles away from civilization, yet this fantastic cabin is conveniently located to wonderful restaurants, great shopping, movie theaters, and more. This authentic 1812 cabin was moved here from Tennessee, and rebuilt in 1993 with some modern conveniences, so you have the best of both worlds! Enjoy the original chink log cabin, with a real wood burning fireplace located within 40 fenced acres. This property is mostly hardwoods, so the Autumn colors are spectacular. If you are an animal lover, you can enjoy the beautiful horses, as well as longhorn cows, goats, chickens, and more! The cabin overlooks a stocked fishing pond, and you will also have the use of a huge pavilion on the lake. This is the perfect romantic getaway, or a fantastic place for the entire family. This is a perfect location for snowbirds, as it is closer than Florida- but with the same weather patterns as areas such as Panama City Beach. Enjoy the pictures , and let us know if you have any questions. This is also a wedding and event venue, so it books quickly. Please know that these rates do not apply for weddings or events for over ten people.
Our family lives just across the street from this property. We love this area, as it still has the country feel without the inconvenience of being too far away from things.
Susie Clements purchased this cabin in 2009
We fell in love with this property from the first time we saw it, and knew that we wanted it as our own. There are no words to describe just how beautiful the property is.
We rented this lovely cabin for a long weekend and enjoyed every minute. The rustic-yet-elegant charm of the cabin only added to the picturesque scenery. We will definitely return for another stay :) The grandchildren loved the lake, as well as the animals. We enjoyed plenty of time outside relaxing and enjoying God's creation.
What a lovely property & accommodations. The home/cabin is much larger than appears on website. We enjoyed the lake floating dock/raft, fished a little with only one catch & release, and loved watching & visiting w the farm animals. We watched movies, football, grilled burgers & had s'mores. Our short stay was so restful, filled w quality family time. The home has everything you need for a comfortable stay & Susie is very timely with responses to any questions we had. Thank you!!!
This property is so much more then you see on the photos. Short getaway for myself, husband and two children and we could not have done any better. All we could complain about is not wanting to go home. We will definitely be back to stay and of course to see Blue Gull, Devon, Willie, America, Nemo, Freckles, Betsy, Flower and all the chickens. Thank you Hannah and Sam who we met on property and could not have been nicer. Susie, thank you so very much!!!!!
My wife and I and her parents rented this lovely cabin for a Labor Day getaway with my two children and my grandchild. The website pics don't do it justice! It has everything you need in modern convenience yet still feels rustic. It is close to civilization but doesn't feel like it. There was plenty of room. Though there are beds for 7, the cabin could easily hold 9 or 10 using the sofa and an air mattress in the ample living room. The screened in back porch is huge. The kitchen is roomy. The pond is lovely and has a Huck Finn style raft with oars, though we brought a small jon boat of our own. We caught and released several nice bass. 3 free-ranging longhorns roamed near the cabin a couple times a day, and horses, goats and several varieties of chickens are just 50 to 75 yards away. The back yard is big, too, and the grass feels like carpet. We brought our own food and did a good bit of our cooking on the Weber grill out back, but the gas stove and convection oven also work great, and there are several restaurants and plenty of takeout food just 5 miles north on Hwy 280 if you want to avoid cooking at all. The owner is responsive, courteous and helpful. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a wonderful escape from it all!
Magical is the first word that comes to mind. We thoroughly enjoyed our time & even changed our plans to spend more time there. We can't wait to return!
My best friend and I were on her birthday adventure. This trip was her present. We were both impressed.
This property is amazing. Once we turned onto the gravel road, all cares seemed to fade. Don't let the photos fool you, this cabin is huge. From the massive screened in back porch to the roomy kitchen, every detail has been thought of.
We petted the horses, took photos of chickens and goats, watched birds and even spotted a busy fox.
I listened to the roosters crowing while I had coffee, and watched the sunlight dance on the pond below.
Simply lost myself in nature. Then I'd go inside and enjoy the antiquity of the cabin.I did feel rather guilty grilling burgers while the Longhorn were grazing about 50 feet away.
We can't wait for another visit. Perhaps in the fall.
Our hostess was prompt to answer every request. I really can't say enough about this home and the property. It makes you feel like you're miles from everything, when you're a few minutes drive to Publix and even shorter to a little convenience store.
Thank you for a wonderful experience, Susie.
