(Text automatically translated) Renovated by ourselves, we wanted this holiday welcoming, warm. This vacation rental is a haven of peace, where only the birds will wake up in the morning. Other birds of the air, hot air balloons, which will probably shave the roof of the house. Ideally located from the cottage, you can explore the banks of the Cher on foot, bike or even canoeing or taking a stroll in the vineyards. Castles of the Loire as Chenonceau, Amboise and Clos Lucé are within 15 minutes drive. Wine lovers, the caves of Montlouis, Vouvray await you for a tasting, accompanied Touraine specialties like pork scratchings. If these are the beautiful letters that attract you, Ronsard, Rabelais and Balzac will open the doors of their museums.

The property was perfect for our group and well equipped. Very comfortable and relaxing stay. The only drawback was that the host was unprepared to receive us at the established check in time and the peolpe were there sweeping up dead flies. We also saw a millipede. Other than those problems it was clean and well kept.

Thank you for your comment, Gary. I'm glad you found my house clean, well-equipped, and very quiet.
Regarding the dead movement upon your arrival, I'm sorry again. This is the first time I've had this problem in 14 years of renting, and I addressed the issue before your arrival, which is why the housekeeper was supposed to come back just before your stay.
Regarding your arrival, the person in charge of reception (and I prefer a personalized welcome over a key box whenever possible) arrived at 5:15 p.m., and your arrival was scheduled for 5:30 p.m. I don't understand the problem. However, you had the gate code to enter the property.
I'm nevertheless delighted that your stay ultimately went well.
We had two relaxing weeks in the house. Everything was well equipped, even a digital balance for making crêpes was there.
Communication via email with the owner was easy.
Good infrastructure and good location for visiting lots of châteaux. Chenonceau only 3km away.
We passed two relaxed weeks at this Holiday Home "en Tourraine". Very well situated you are reaching all attractions either by car or by bike. Bikers will be in heaven as you can choose running along the Cher or the Lore. The location is offering several bedrooms, well equipped to manage your daily life. There are steps from the living/dining room to the kitchen, which are not really suitable for handicapped people. 5 min by bike you can find -among others- "la baguette tricolore" which is -to our view- one of the best french breads/baguettes. we have been very well treated by the host and it was a pleasure for us to stay and enjoy.
Pros : Nice property, very well equiped and within 20 min of Loire Valley. Excellent outdoor area and under the hot air balloon route which was a pleasant addition. Cons : booking tranparency. Booked through VRBO with "all prices included, no hidden fees". Was a little surprised, after paying a non refundable fee via vrbo to then be emailed by the owner directly issuing a formal contract, akin to a long term rental, with extra payments for both linen (15 euro per bed) and an "optional" cleaning fee of 80 euro cash payment. It was suggested in the contract that i recieve the linen fee for "free". It appears to me that the owner had secured my booking through vrbo under the impression that all costs were accounted for to be competitive, then added costs outside of the booking platform which is deceptive. Unfortunately this, accompanied by a house inventory folder with cost for replacing items took the relaxation element out of the holiday. Ive never experienced this approach for a holiday home booked through a third party before. Overall, nice place to stay. Unnecessary, uncomfortable additional contractual formality and pressure.

This is false.
Everything is indicated.
Cleaning is an option, it's stated in the ad.
The tenant received free sheets, as well as bath towels in his case.
Of course, if the tenant breaks things in the house, this must be taken into account, as everywhere else (this was obviously not the case with Alec, who respected the house).
Thank you for noting that I have 70 positive reviews; only Alec has a strange review.

Stayed for a month in early summer with wife, kids, and a couple relatives. Loved the location in the valley: country side experience but stores, cities, and tourist sites within reach. Close to Cher river where kids played and we rented canoes for a short paddle to Chenonceau. Access to plenty of scenic fields, country, farmland for runs/walks right outside the door. Even Chenonceau is a nice 2km jog away. A wide variety of great castles and vineyards all a short drive away. Supermarket, home improvement store, Aldi all in small town short drive away. Miles of bike trails (along river, by sunflower fields, to playgrounds, etc) easily accessible along with bike rental facilities. Nearby Bléré with restaurants and an incredible park/playground for the kids. House was perfect home base with everything the family needed including stocked kitchen, good living room and dining room space, patio with chairs, table, and grill. Nice fenced/gated in yard for kids to run around, able to let them play without having to worry. Had all the elements we were hoping for and would highly recommend.

Cordialement
