The one-bedroom condo apartment (950 square feet) is outfitted with a spacious master bedroom with a king-sized bed, leather reclining chair, and bathroom with bathtub, and an overhead shower. There is an additional bathroom connected to the living room area. The furnished living room has comfortable seating with cable TV and large windows. This unit also features a full kitchen, 2-in-1 washer and dryer, iron & ironing board, and hairdryer.

This unit is well-suited for single occupancy, a couple, or a small family with young children (two small floor mattresses will be provided upon request).

In addition to the aforementioned, the following will be provided:
- WiFi access
- Towels & linens
- Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash
- Welcome water bottles & fruit
- Free parking garage access card (when requested)
- Collection of books
- Umbrellas

Our corner unit is slightly larger than other 1 bd/2 bt units in the Marina Suites.

Guests have access to a beautiful infinity-pool that is located in a terrace lined with frangipani trees. There is a children's pool and bathroom and showers for residents and guests. There is also a tennis court, fully-equipped gym, outdoor seating, and lounge seats.

On each floor, there is a lounging area with several sofas and a marina and ocean view.


****THE AREA****

The Marina Suites at Straits Quay is a development by the famous E&O Hotel Group and touts incredible design and aesthetic sentiments. The unit is located right above easily-accessible waterfront restaurants, cafes, bars, boutiques, massage parlors, hair salons, bike rental, and Sam's Groceria (a grocery store with local and Western goods). Lotus and other restaurants are less than a ten minute walk away.

The neighborhood around Straits Quay is very clean, safe, and convenient in its closeness to restaurants and other amenities. Take the kids to Straits Green, a free and clean water play area walking distance from the apartment. And don't forget to enjoy a walk day or night by the water, on paved walkways.

Our unit is in a wonderful location as it is located in between George Town and Batu Ferringhi, and down the road from Gurney. Spend a few days exploring the historical UNESCO city and a few more walking along the beaches or checking out The Tropical Spice Garden, The Penang Butterfly Farm, or ESCAPE Theme Park on the other side of the island.


*****GETTING AROUND*****

1) BUS
Rapid Bus line 102 picks up right outside Straits Quay. Rapid Bus line 101 picks up across from Tesco (about 10 minute walk). Both of these buses will take you either towards Batu Ferringhi or towards town where upon they will eventually stop at the Komtar Bus Terminal (where you can catch any other bus). There is also a Penang Hop and Hop Off bus stop for the beach route a few steps outside the unit!

2) Grab Malaysia
If you have mobile data we recommend downloading the Grab app to your phone. Drivers are much more affordable than taxis on the island and the service is highly recommended.

3) TAXIS
If buses don't suit you or if you don't have mobile data there are always taxis that can be found right outside of Straits Quay.

We had a wonderful stay at Lillian’s apartment in Straits Quay. The apartment was spotless, comfortable, and had absolutely everything we needed for our time in Penang. The location is fantastic—very easy to navigate, with great hawker stalls just a 10–15 minute walk away, and a variety of more upscale restaurants conveniently located right in the building.The Straits Quay complex itself is lovely, with lots of services, shops, and activities available on-site, which made everything incredibly convenient. Lillian was a warm and responsive host, and her attention to detail made our stay even better.Highly recommended—we would happily stay here again!

Straits Quay in Penang

We had a lovely time at Lilian’s place following a week stay in Georgetown. Straits Quay has a quieter feel with plenty of restaurants and walkable area next to the sea. It’s further away from the central activities but not a problem to get a grab for transport. There is a convenient grocery located immediately outside the condo residence. We could also walk easily to Lotus. Lilian was very accommodating to our check in and informative about the surrounding areas. Great time.

A Wonderful Stay

My husband and I spent four wonderful weeks at Lilian’s condo. It felt like our home away from home! The space was perfect and very comfortable for the two of us and came well equipped with everything we needed.The unit is very clean and well maintained. The kitchen was had all the necessary items needed for cooking and preparing meals. Everything equipment was in good working condition. There was a very good supply of clean linens at our disposal. It was nice not to have to worry about dish soap, hand soap and shampoo since it was all supplied for us. Lilian was very friendly and welcoming. She was easy to contact and responded quickly with anything we needed regarding the condo. The location of the condo was excellent. There was a small grocery store in the complex that has everything you would need. It was handy have the restaurants in the complex for a nice meal out. There is a wet market and larger grocery store within away walking distance. The 101-bus stop to Georgetown or Batu Ferringhi is just a short walk to the main road. We had a nice time enjoying the pool. It was very peaceful and relaxing. My husband and I will definitely come to Lilian’s condo the next time we are in Penang!

We stayed at straits quay for 5weeks in Jan/Feb. The appartment was very well equipped, spacious and clean. The pool was amazing and very quiet. Our host Susanna met us on arrival even though it was 0100. Unfortunately our luggage was left in Kuala Lumpur by the airline. We could not get through on the phone to the airport the next day to find out when it would be delivered. Susanna helped us and managed to obtain information .Our luggage arrived at 1800 . The only downside was the building works going on which made the area quite noisy at times. I think the photos need updating as the view from appartment is not as shown on Home and Away. My thanks to Susanna for letting us stay in pleasant appartment.

Great location in Straits Quay

Great location in Straits Quay, just 5 minutes to Gurney Drive and 10 minutes to Batu Ferringhi. Lot's of shops, pubs and restaurants in Straits Quay (you don't even have to go outside if you don't want to!). Sam's Groceria is downstairs as well. Great pool, small fitness center with just the basics. Susana is a great host as well. With all of the condos being built in Seri Tanjung the views from the condo aren't what they used to be but if you want to be down on the water in a great location this is the place to be!

Great apartment in a fantastic location!

Fantastic resort and a really nice apartment. Susanna was very welcoming to my wife and I. Fantastic pool in the complex which was great for early swims ( and later ones too). Easy reach of most area on public transport if needed or grab a cab! Highly recommend this place to others!

My husband and I stayed here for 10 days , enjoying all the comforts of home in a clean and roomy 1 bedroom apartment. The location above Straits Quay Mall and Marina , was so good as many restaurants, grocers and specialty shops were on our doorstep. Most enjoyable to sit downstairs on ground floor of the mall , overlooking the water. Tesco was a 5 minute walk away and Convenient to Rapid Penang bus service 101 caught out front to take you to Georgetown or north to Batu Ferringhi and further. The 102 service however, which swings by Straits Quay was “elusive “ . Grab or Uber cabs are also available. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.

Lovely spacious apartment

This apartment is in an area known as stairs quay, a marina that has lots of restaurants, a grocery store on site, and activities. As a woman staying there alone, it felt very safe. Lots of security people around. The pool area is fantastic, and very clean. The apartment is large, very comfortable living area, large bedroom and two bar rooms, one ensuite. It was well equipped with the basics, as well as extras. Everything worked well, the wifi was good, washing machine was very well used! There is quite a bit of construction going on in the area, as is the case all over the island of Penang. I had a couple of minor issues that needed to be resolved whilst I was there (2 month stay) and the managers were very quick to get things sorted out, I appreciated that.

Home away from home

A friendly couple owns this lovely one bedroom apartment. It is conveniently located in an upscale area and within a private residential block within Straits Quay, which means that you have easy access to the mall comprising a number of restaurants, bars and supermarket. This is a place to be if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle ie it is in a very quiet part of town. The apartment is comfortable, clean and tastefully furnished. There is a fully functioning kitchen and washing area for your use and is well stocked with the required necessities. This is a top floor unit with a big balcony, although it faces away from the sea but you will still be able to get some seaview at certain parts of the unit ie the living room and left hand side of the balcony. The gym is small but sufficiently equipped and generally unused. The swimming pool area is also large enough for a decent lap. Travel-wise, it was easy to get a taxi to get to anywhere on the island. To put things into perpspective, it would take you 15-20mins to get to Georgetown in a car. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. Thanks Shuli & Miguel for making it a wonderful holiday!
