About Nathan Jespersen

My wife Sara and I have been married for over 12 years, have 2 kids, Tori and Ellie. We live in Stillwater and also have our office space downtown. We both work in the fitness and health industry.

Nathan Jespersen purchased this house in 2012

Why Nathan Jespersen chose Stillwater

We stumbled on this property in the summer of 2012. The home was in rough shape, but the property and the location was paradise. We renovated the home to our liking. The home is also rich in Stillwater history. The trail behind the house used to be the old trolley track that commuted loggers throughout Stillwater back in the 1800's. The trolley house is converted into a home now and is our closest neighbor. We've thoroughly enjoyed this property for the 3 short years we've been here. We felt that it would be fun to share this little treasure with others.

What makes this house unique

By far, the most fascinating aspects of this home is the view of the lake and wildlife. You can see the sunset over the lake from every room in the home. What also makes this property unique is it's country secluded feel, while still amidst the populated downtown Stillwater area. We hope you'll enjoy it as much as we have.

Another fantastic week at Meadowlark Cottage!

  • 5 of 5

This is our 2nd visit and couldn't ask for a better home to share with our 3 boys. From the well stocked kitchen, to the fantastic family room in the basement, everything is top notch. Our favorite is sitting on the deck off the master, sipping our tea and watching the sunrise. Nathan is a wealth of knowledge on restaurants and things to do. He is also very quick on answering questions. 5 Stars for sure!!

Great relaxing stay with family. Close to downtown Stillwater restaurants and shopping.

Property was clean and well maintained. Prompt responses from Nick on any questions was appreciated. Would definitely stay there again. Only wish is that the Lake wasn't quite what we were hoping due to the vegetation but that is made clear in advance.

great summer retreat

  • 5 of 5

Had a very nice stay at this beautiful in-town hideaway. Everything as advertised. Home is modern and nicely stocked with what you would expect in a home if someone lived there. Nice electronics such as big screen TV in basement and living area. Spacious and lots of windows to look at the picturesque lake. Nice camp fire area also looking over the dock and lake. Area private with abundance of trees. As advertised is right off a walking path with beautiful walk over several hundred foot bridge over part of lake that all together is a nice 1.8 to 2 mile trip. Hot tub is tucked away but working. Zip line for the kids as noted. Lake was green but that expected this time of year and able to be used with canoe or kayak which provided. Nathan was responsive and although we didn't need him, he was available if needed. We'd recommend it and may stay again. The damage deposit returned about 1 week after stay. Only negative, if you want to call it that, is that it is kind of expensive but I guess you get what you pay for. Check it out.

Great place to relax with family!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time! The home had ample space for our family. It was very clean and had everything we needed. There are a lot of windows that look outside to the great outdoor space complete with a fire pit, hot tub, hammock and lots of seating. Nathan was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any emails. The Stillwater area is really fun with a wide variety of activities. One negative was that the lake was mostly green and had a lot of cattails so we didn’t use the kayaks or canoe. That is not something the owner can control. We found several nearby lakes for swimming and fishing. We would definitely recommend this property!

Beautiful 🏠 with the feel of a remote property but with easy access to the city!

  • 5 of 5

Loved our girl’s weekend. A perfect place for 5-8 ladies who needed a break from the real world to hide away and enjoy each other’s company. There is every amenity you could want (although we struggled with the sheer amount of remotes and operating instructions for the devices these remotes were supposed to control! 🙈)

Already missing my ladies and would have gladly moved into the property permanently! Thanks for an awesome experience Nathan.

The Meadowlark Cottage is a little piece of paradise; rich in Stillwater history and close to downtown Stillwater and the St. Croix River. You can follow this trail down all the way around Lake McKusick or take it down the creek to downtown Stillwater. Downtown Stillwater has much to offer; wonderful restaurants, shopping and antique stores. And, for recreation, boating up and down the river gives the most scenic representation of the Valley.
