The Perfect Island Retreat
My husband and I stayed at Tet Rouge for a week at the end of April 2015. We were looking for a place to stay near the Pitons that was not at one of the high-end resorts, but was still nice quality with views of the water. After an extensive Internet search we found Tet Rouge and are so glad we did! It was the PERFECT place to stay and just what we were looking for. The property is beautiful, the units are spectacular, and Diana and Sorin were perfect hosts. On our first day there, we had arranged to have dinner on the property and afterwards they organized a “manager’s special” cocktail for all the guests to socialize. It was a good introduction to the island, to meet and hear from the other guests their recommendations for the places to see and tricks of driving around the area.
The next morning, Diana, Sorin and some of the other guests guided us down to Sugar Beach and showed us the road to get to Soufriere. After that, we felt comfortable knowing where to go and how to navigate the narrow and winding roads. Through Diana and Sorin, we arranged to have massages at the property and we also signed up with them to take the Gros Piton hike with Mel. We were very pleased with the personalized attention. The hike started right from Tet Rouge, went down to the water and then straight back up the mountain (2,600 ft). Our legs were sore for the next few days, but it was well worth it!
Since we were visiting St Lucia to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary, Diana and Sorin showered us with a beautiful bouquet of local flowers for my birthday, a bottle of champagne for our anniversary and they reserved the most private unit (Hibiscus Suite) for us to enjoy throughout the week. Overall, we had a fabulous stay at Tet Rouge and would not hesitate to recommend the place to others. The design and layout of the property and it shows. We only wish there were places just like this on all the other islands!
Special place on a special island
I would like to echo the other reviewers and say too that Tet Rouge is a great place to stay at, indeed. It is located in the most picturesque part of the island, so if you like to explore and learn about the places you visit and the local people, if you enjoy nature, if you appreciate quality things with good taste and if you want to feel welcomed every moment of your stay then Tet Rouge is for you too. The newly build Studios and the entire property is very well thought throughout, tall cathedral ceilings, the view from your elegant bed, the outdoor rain-shower under the stars, the big folding doors that open to your large private terrace with the 180 view of the serene Caribbean Sea, the infinity pool with the tiki bar, the careful selection of tropical plants around the property, every detail seems to just add to your experience. The location is quite special too, I lost count of how many pictures I took with the Gros Piton, the sunsets, the ships passing by on the beautiful blue sea (with St. Vincent in the background) or the tropical flowers and the hummingbirds. Tet Rouge is also close to some of the best restaurants on the island, the best beaches and resorts (rent a SUV) and the best things to do or visit in or around Soufriere and the Pitons, just ask any of the owners, they are really resourceful and friendly...they really do care about your stay and they want your experience to be special. Our stay was special. Thank you for that!
A perfect stay with friends ...
... after an already great week on martinique, we arrived after a ferry trip of about 90minutes at Castries. After immigration, Martin the taxi driver picked us up and brought us to Tet Rouge... we met him several times, as we did some transfers to Soufriere and a one day trip with him. Sorin and Diana were perfect hosts from the very first second we arrived! When ever we had a question, wanted to go some where - to the close silent beach or together with Garvin to the rainforest waterfall - they were always there, honest and so lovely... we can just recall, what Sorin told us once from other guests "we came as guests and we left as friends" ... whenever we go back to St. Lucia or to Toronto/Canada, we will call them, to enjoy another lovely time!!! We enjoyed every single second. One point we could mention: the kitchen was very basic equipped, for people who want to serve themselves for breakfast or dinner. But this is really a side note - as the chef is just amazing, even for me as vegetarian! applause!!! We had a great time and will come back!
Hike to the top of the Gros Piton, take a swim at the beach, snorkel or scuba-dive, visit one of the waterfalls in the area, tour a local plantation, explore any of the many natural and cultural attractions that St. Lucia has to offer...
