Not what we expected

  • 1 of 5

Wasn't the best experience. The small fridge in the dining area didn't work, the fridge and outlets at the pool bar didn't work. There was a hole in the kayak and we sunk when we took it in the ocean. The bikes had bad brakes and tires that didn't hold air which we didn't realize till we took them a few miles from the property. There was a leak in the ceiling in the downstairs bedroom. The propane in the grill was empty which we didn't realize till after we prepped a meal to be grilled. We contacted the owner and he fixed the outlet in the bar and brought more propane. He sent someone to look at the leak and all they did was cut a hole in the drywall in 2 of the bedroom closets and leave all the dust and drywall there. Overall I was upset with the money we spent on the property.

Fantastic!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with this home, I had tons of character, was very cozy and had plenty of room for our party of eight. We loved having the private pool and hot tub. It was a very close walk to the beach, and we were able to use the beach chairs sand buggy that came with the house. Having three full bathrooms and the washer and dryer were fantastic. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the dishes and cookware we needed. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Great Friends and Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Great location and house.

Plenty of room and furnishings in the kitchen - no need for anything else. The pool, hot tub, hot showers, and toys were all great. Response from the owner over 1 or 2 small things was quick.

If any negatives - the house could use a little TLC and freshening - but that is being very picky, especially for a beach house. Would definitely rent again.

Perfect Place for a Family Gathering!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned back home from spending a fantastic week at "Going to Carolina". We all (adults and children) had a great experience. Besides all the amenities it offered, the salt-water pool was a big hit by all. Larger than a lot of other beach house pools, it provided entertainment for us when we came up from the beach. The beach is a short walk from the house. It was recently "redone" and is an extremely wide beach which gives every family plenty of room to spread out and relax. The walk up and down the huge dune to get to the beach may be a bit of a challenge for some and steps might make it easier.

We talked with the owner, Rod, about a minor problem we had and were very satisfied with how quickly he got back to me and took care of it.

The house is very clean and provides just about everything we needed. It was a great choice for my family and we all agreeded the week went by way too quickly!

Great family gathering home. The pool was perfect and the house had everything we needed. So close to the beach! Comfortable beds and well appointed kitchen. Had the quirks and character of a well loved beach house.

Great family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Tho at first we were worried about the beach refurbishment our vacation was a hit. When first walking into the house we definitely felt like we were at the beach. From the location to the decor and overall home. There was plenty of space for our 2 families to split up and have our own area. Plenty of pots, pans, and silverware. The beds were comfortable. Would be nice to have more than just a sheet on the beds. (Bring a blanket if you want to be warm. ) also would be nice to have a couple more towels provided. The pool area was excellent. It was great that the pool was fenced in with plenty of grass for the kids to play in and not worry about them running off. The pool was large and nice after a day at the beach. The hot tub was at the front of the house so the kids wanted to run back and forth the whole time. Ping pong table was nice along with the outdoor bar and grill was in great condition. We didn't use the kayak but used the bikes a couple times. Great bike trails. Also was nice to have a few beach chairs available since we didn't bring our own. A couple were broken but to be expected with salt water and sand over time. The week of our stay there were no neighbors all around us so felt like we had the place to ourselves. Easy walk to beach and sound. Even tho they were refurbishing the beach it didn't affect us. But I guess will eventually cause issues with some guests. Beach will be nice when finished.
