Beauty, comfort, and a place to relax and enjoy life
The home we stayed at was just as described. The owners were very helpful with all our questions. The house and grounds were perfect for a place in the woods. The house was very lovely, well supplied, roomy, and very comfortable. The grounds were pretty and well laid out. Too bad our grand kids weren't with us or they would have enjoyed the swing set and plenty of room to explore. It was too cold to enjoy the pool. But we were lucky enough to see a beautiful sky to admire with so many stars! It was just a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the beauty, peace, and quiet. Wished we could have stayed longer! It's a good drive from Texas, but I hope we make it back!!! Thanks to the homeowners for building such a beautiful place!!!
Quiet place where grandkids could run, play and be themselves. (Loud without bothering anybody)
Quiet, clean and a great way to unplug and reset. It was a much needed getaway from traffic, work, etc. We will be back. Great space for small familes, there is even a toy box inside!
Charming family-friendly cabin and property in the middle of the Homochitto National Forest
Our family was looking for a few nights of R&R in the woods and found it at the quaint little cabin, Tinmann Retreat. Lots of riding around trails exploring the woods and wildlife-it’s not hunting season so rarely saw anybody.
The cabin was stocked with antiques, toys, games, and other goodies for the kids to enjoy, including a swing set and pool. The owner built it using wood and accessories from old houses and it has a lot of charm. The kids caught fireflies and made s’mores. Enjoyed our time and no cell phones! We will visit again in the future. Ken and his wife Beth are very hospitable and accommodating.
Impeccable attention to detail!!
This was our first time to this property. My husband and I took our 4 kids, the youngest being 1 year old. The cabin was very inviting. The owners, Ken and Beth, really paid close attention to detail on the entire property and inside the cabin. We had a really great time. Our kids were very sad to leave and are still asking about "the brown house". There were more flying insects outside than I'm used to, but my children and husband didn't seem to mind. Overall, I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to unplug and detox from the city atmosphere. We will be back.
